Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC Ratings and Reviews
Wasn’t a good first experience. Going to sum it up as perhaps it was just too busy, servers were disgruntled to be working on holiday, no manners, and not courteous enough to explain the menu even after they asked if we had ever been there and we said no. One staff member berated two moms with their children in strollers because they were in the way (after they were told to stand where they were) the bartender yelled at customers because they were at his bar and not ordering (again told to sit there). I could go on. Definitely was not the experience we were hoping for our Thanksgiving dinner in NYC. Very disappointed we expected more after such rave reviews.
Carmine’s served up a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner. It was really excellent! Included whole roasted turkey carved on a platter, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, Brussels sprouts for main course and apple pie for dessert. This was our second Thanksgiving here, and is didn’t disappoint! Highly recommended!
Outstanding family style Italian with a great upbeat atmosphere and service. Never had better spaghetti and meatballs and veal scallopine. Our second time to have an Italian Thanksgiving dinner — a new family tradition in the making. Loved the Christmas lights and greenery too.
This place is my "go to" when friends and family are visiting. You can always count on great quality and delicious food. Though serving portions have decreased over the years. For the chicken param you used to get 6 chicken breasts now it's 4. But those are the times...
A reservation made for 10... could've been overwhelming, but the staff was very attentive and energetic. They made it easy to accommodate everyone in my party of 10 and even suggested the best dishes on the menu. Everything, from the wine, to the pasta and lastly to the dessert, was absolutely delicious! Also, the serving sizes were enormous!
Overall, Carmine's is an amazing restaurant and is a greta place for a family dinner, or for a large group outing.
They derive it family style and the portions are huge and when I say huge I mean huge. The meal was very good though and the service was good. We were here during the holidays so the inside was decorated very pretty. It’s a great place for a good meal and experience. I highly recommend making a reservation I booked on open table which I love and had no issues at all and the place was packed.
the food was good but it was cold this is the third time i have been to Carmine's and the food was cold,Also a suggestion for seating two people using half portions, plenty of people frequent your establishment and are in the city for a show or shopping and cannot take there food with them. There has to be a better way of organizing your reserved people its so crazy at the front door..
We made a reservation for 5:30 and arrived at 5:20. We were greeted with a friendly staff and seated right away! Our waiter was friendly and made great Recommendations. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was too! It's definitely
A New York staple! We will be coming here every time we come to New York!
I'd been to Carmine's several times and thought it might not be good for a romantic meal however I had never been seated upstairs. My husband and I had a lovely meal along with tables of other couples. There is another bar upstairs to drinks were delivered quickly. We didn't wait long for our appetizer or main entrée. We will definitely be back.
