Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC Ratings and Reviews
The latest in a long line of semi-annual visits to Carmine's was, as always, a great success. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. Considering the amount of food that our party ordered, the price per person was incredibly reasonable. Looking forward to the next gathering at Carmine's in May.
Food was great. Our waiter was very professional and helpful. It was just the two of us we’d read the reviews and knew to expect BIG FOOD. And it was A LOT OF FOOD!! Take another couple with you unless you can take the leftovers home with you. We are from out of state and had to leave some behind. But it was worth the experience
Food is always fabulous with huge portions! Busy, upbeat atmosphere. Our 2nd time, both anniversary dinners. Were disappointed by the initial waitress who was abrasive when asked questions, and even spilled wine and beer on us without an apology. After complaining, she was replaced, and we were treated very well. We would go back again because the food is so amazing. We just hope they recognize the need to ensure serving staff have better customer service skills.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we had to wait for the rest of our group, I said to my husband that I really needed to sit down. The door man over heard me and got me a chair. That was very nice of him and I appreciated his kind gesture. The food was excellent. The waitress was informative and very attentive. The overall dining experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
We were delighted with the service and the food. It is great for a group. The waiter helped with our choices and had excellent advice with regard to the family style service. The portions are large but the food is outstanding. It was a loud happy atmosphere.
The food was great but our server was NOT. The waiter was very pushy...attempting to upsell each course. He was noticeably irritated when we did not order the quantity suggested. I have never experienced something like it! We felt uncomfortable and anxious to leave.
Food is served only in quantity for family dining. This doesn’t work well for couples unless you want left over salad that can run $30. Pasta makes better left overs but we didn’t want to take food to the theater and out for a drink. The food is good but we would return only if we had a group of four and we all wanted the same thing for dinner.
My husband and I were disappointed that our waiter refused to store our left over so we could see a Broadway show. The kind host at Sardi's kept the leftovers so we enjoy the show. Next we will spend our $ at Sardi's and recommend to our friends. The wait staff were too loud, with their conversation and laughing, too many of them just standing around gossiping.
