Amazing Dinner! Great Caesar salad, garlic bread and chicken parm. The Titanic dessert was worth it for a special occasion and it was delicious! The service was almost as good if not better than the food. Everyone was personable and friendly! A definite for any trip in Times Square, especially if you have 4 or more.
Carmine's is like your neighborhood Italian restaurant on steroids. It is loud, busy, crowded and the food is like eating at your grandmother's table. It is served "family style" and each plate is enough to feed a family of 3-4. I thought, given this scenario that the food would be processed and poor but I was happily surprised that the food was delicious. We shared a Caesar salad that was nothing more than lettuce and a food bread crumbs (but it was fresh and tasty) and linguine and meatballs (the size of a cue ball). That dish was immense and it was so delicious that we almost finished it. The pasta was done well (maybe a little soft but I like it that way); the meatballs were delicious and the sauce was light and not overdone, so you could taste the food. Loved the basket of assorted breads.
The service was friendly and efficient. Tables were close but it was fun to talk to neighbors as their eyes bulged when seeing the plates arrive. We walked out stuffed and enjoyed every bite.
We are visiting New York from Mobile, AL. We heard Carmine’s was really good from several people back home and we are so glad we decided to try it! Everyone who served us was super friendly and the food was awesome! Best dining experience ever! We can’t wait to try it again!
I wish I could remember our servers name but he was wonderful. Food was amazing like I remember. It's been 15yrs since I last was here.
Took 4 kids-fast and attentive service. Food was delicious.
Delicious food, family style portions which means that you don't have to order a lot. We ordered a ceasar's salad, lasagna(unbelievable how many layers of them), a glass of wine and two soft drinks. Everyone leaves this place with some food for home as you can't eat it all. I would go back again!
Great food and lots of it ;served family style). You won’t go home hungry.
Great experience. We were seated with minimal waiting time. It was my family’s first experience there and they were impressed. Food was delicious as always.
Large portion sizes, you don’t need as much food as the waiter tells you!
Excellent late lunch on a weekday for my wife and myself. The food and service were excellent but the serves were too large which resulted in wasted food. This restaurant should offer smaller servings to avoid such wastage of food.
Carmines Creates Memories!
This authentic family style NYC restaurant is perfect for so many occasions. Bring your appetite - the food is scrumptious and plentiful! The staff is friendly and helpful and the ambiance is cultural and memorable!
The food might be classic Italian but it was done very well. It was served family style. Our waitress, Chi, was fantastic and made sure we didn’t order too much.
Perfect food. Chicken part and penne alla vodka were outstanding
The location on 44th st in New York is a great location if you are going to see a show. They have a lot of gluten free options. The waitstaff is very friendly and the food was great.
We took our daughter for her 21st birthday. Unfortunately, she left her identification at home. She even forgot to bring the lipstick. Papa was our waiter, he was quite efficient and happy. The quantity of food was a Normas! Our daughter was very happy however, she would have leftovers for quite some time.
We had a reservation, but weren’t seated till 30 minutes after we should have.
Super crowded. Food was decent, but the atmosphere was crazy for a Sunday night.
Happy Anniversary, waiter was name Mica. Very accommodating and thoughtful. We choose bake clams and lasagna, both were excellent and abundant
Our first trip to NYC and Carmine's came highly recommended....we LOVED it and would recommend others to go also. Great food and everyone who waited on us were very friendly!!!!!
Our sever kept forgetting to look at our table and if we could get her attention she would not remember what we had asked for. Overall good experience.
Always loved Carmine’s. Never a bad meal & more then enough to eat!! Also staff is very friendly & accomdating! Keep up the great work!!
We were told to wait at the bar and we’d be taken by our reservation time. We checked 50 minutes later -30- past our res. They had lost us. We had 2 children. Not good. They did seat us then but with no apology or accommodation. I call that arrogant. The only reason we may come back is it may have been one incompetent staff. Would love to hear from management if this is how they routinely ignore mistakes
Best Italian food in New York! I would book a flight back there just to go this restaurant! All dishes are sharing portions for a maximum of 4 people and at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended! 5*
The family style portions were huge and just delicious!
We have been to the Carmines in DC with our kids and everybody loved it. I was skeptical the NYC Carmines wouldn’t be as good, since it is around the Theater district it would be very touristy, therefore they would skimp on the quality. Boy was I surprised. Every course and every dish was utterly delicious and memorable. The service was on the ball for our entire dining session. We are going back soon with the family and friends.
I would highly recommend Carmine's the food is alway good and the services is also great.
Made a reservation for 6 and it was honored in a timely manner once everyone had arrived. The food is served family style and the entrees are very large. We ordered garlic bread, salad, 2 entrees and one dessert for everyone. You cannot order a single serving dessert, only whole cakes are on the menu. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Runners deliver the food. This restaurant is in an excellent location right in the heart of the NYC theater district.
Really had a great time at Carmine’s this past weekend. The food and atmosphere were great. Large family style portions. Great drinks at the bar. Just a place you definitely want to visit.
Special thanks to Ana-Maria.
My second diner in your restaurant and what a pleasure again !!!!!
Thanks a lot
This is a extremely popular spot because the food is delicious & the prices reasonable for Manhattan. Have to have a reservation on a weekend. Had 6:30 Reservation and was so busy did not get seated until 7pm. Sever was fabulous. Best for parties of 4 or more due to family style portions.
I had a 630 reservation however we were not seated until 715. Why bother making reservations if they can't be honored. I was shocked at how many people were waiting. To be honest, I am not sure reservations were even honored.
It was packed and LOUD, but we were given a table by the front window, which was a bit more quiet. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and the service was solid. I did get the impression that the goal was to get people in, fed and out as quickly as possible.
A great spot if you’re taking in a show or just want great Italian meal.
They were overbooked, and took us a half hour late---and were unapologetic for it. But they still get 5-stars because their food is amazing!
While I know we were dining at 530 on a Saturday evening, I was slightly annoyed that I had a reservation for 3 at 5:30 and we were not seated until 6:20. The place was beyond packed and I was told I had to remain inside to be called for our table (could not stand on the sidewalk out front). The bar area was 2 rows deep (which was where we were told to wait) so between the people at the bar coming through, people being walked through to get to their table and the poor wait staff who were trying to navigate through all of that with huge plates of food, I became quickly irritated being "pushed" around and felt slightly claustrophobic. Maybe Carmine's can utilize the "text when the table is ready feature" so not everyone has to stay packed inside. Once seated, our food was delicious, our waiter was absolutely fabulous and we did not at all feel rushed at all even though we could see that there was still a ton of people waiting.
We will, of course, visit Carmine's again (perhaps not at 530 on a Saturday) but it is worth knowing if you are on a tight schedule.
Amazing time with family for my 40th birthday , long wait but well worth it . Food was amazing service was on point thank you Paul and bus boys . Escarole was perfectly done , calamari was a huge hit and the pasta special is a must have . Thanks Carmine’s !!!
