The experience and food was great!
Great food and service!
It is good food and meant to be a fun experience. The waiter was a bit rude. He was hesitant to split checks for our group and then said he could when I suggested he check with his manager. Also, when I asked for a kids menu and he replied that we didn’t need one since all the kids could share. The busboys were a little rude. Literally pushed into me to reach for plates without even saying “excuse me”.
Be prepared (we weren't; mea culpa) for family-style food, and massive portions. We ended up getting an appetizer and a main pasta dish, both of which were very good, and more than enough for four of us. Dessert was huge and yummy, but the cappuccino was undrinkable. The noise level was insanely high, mostly, I think, because every available inch of space not required for the wait staff (who were excellent) to move through was crammed full of people. All in all, an enjoyable experience, but maybe not enjoyable enough to repeat.
This was the best Italian food I have ever had. The Cesar salad was absolutely incredible.
We were visiting New York from Ireland for St Patrick’s weekend and asked a friend from NYC to recommend somewhere good to eat, Carmines was the answer! The food, service and atmosphere were fabulous, it was the best meal we had during our 5 day visit. Would recommend pre-booking through the website to ensure you get a table; we’ll definitely be back on our next trip.
Carmines is our “go to” italian restaurant in Manhattan. They never disappoint. We had reservations for after our play, arrived on time and were seated within 5 minutes. As always, each entree was enough to feed 3-4 adults, once you included a pasta.
Blown away by how authentic and delicious the food is. Loved everything about this place !!!!!!
The Food was very good as it always is. We always make reservations and this time we did not get seated right away for our reservation time. We waited over an half and hour to be called and seated to a table in which I had to ask if they ever called us for seating. The place was very busy and our service could not keep up with the tables that they were covering. We go there all the time when we are in the city and this time the experience was not up to par for us as it usually is. We had met friends there that never been there before and we all decided not to have desert and coffee so we could get out of there.
This is an iconic New York restaurant. Real old school Italian food cooked just like home. The portions are ginormous. 1 serving on the menu is meant to be shared among 2-3 people. We were disappointed that the waiter did not give us more advice when it came to ordering. The service was mediocre at best. Our server forgot to bring our wine and was not overly friendly. Definitely a must do just because of legacy and the food was pretty delicious. This is a super busy and loud restaurant so if a quite meal is what you are after, this is not the place for you.
I think this place lives up to the hype. The food and service were excellent. We had a nice leisurely meal, which is appreciated in a fast paced restaurant.
We had lunch here before seeing a Broadway show. I was impressed with the quick service. The food tasted like it came right from your grandmothers kitchen. Delicious! Portions are huge so it’s a great place to go with a group. I would definitely go back.
Great place to take kids before a play. Food was plentiful and delicious!!
Great dining experience. It's NYC pricing, but the food is excellent!
Food was very good. Family portions. Each main course should be shared with 2-3 people. We got a side of spinich and it should feed 4 easily. Restaurant is really only available for reservations. Make them a few days in advance. Service was good. Food was worth the cost.
The food was great, and it's so much food. We came for my father's birthday and he loved it. Couldn't ask for anything better.
The food and atmosphere was great!
My first time at Carmine’s! Food was great! Huge portions (we were warned) Great service, fun atmosphere
Carmines is always a family favorite, great atmosphere and food.
We celebrated my moms 55th bday after seeing Phantom of the Opera and it was amazing! Service was excellent, food was delicious and we were seated right at our reservation time. It was a great experience.
Thoroughly enjoyable with a big party. Friendly, helpful waitress, food delicious, fun!
Love this restaurant, we visit every time we are in NYC! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
The food was delicious! Love the family style platters!
Excellent food, so happy I got to experience this restaurant. 100% recommend this place!
Food was awesome...as usual...prompt, courteous service, and a relaxed atmosphere made it even more enjoyable!
This is NYC with great food, service and a very relaxed vibe. Early for you reservation - no problem. Early for the show to open - no problem. relax and enjoy it all. Andy in the font room is a fabulous waiter. Thanks Marciela - management rocks!!!
We have been to Carmine's several times, sit at the bar & have always had good food & an enjoyable experience. On 3/17/18, we made reservations at a table near the bar. We were disappointed that we couldn't have a sandwich for lunch. Our waiter recommended the veal saltimboca for us to share. Very disappointed in it for the price. The gravy was too heavy & the veal was very tough.
Great spot with good food, good service and great price. One serving serves 3 to 4 people quietly very filling.
As usual - great experience!
Carmine's was a great trip! I had been dying to go, but know with Family style it is a bit difficult in smaller numbers. We had a group of 8 and I am so glad we finally went. The chicken parm and penny vodka were amazing as well as the Carmine's salad and other appetizers. We also had someone in our group who was gluten free - the staff was helpful and accommodating and the gluten free options (pasta specifically) were just as delicious!
This place was incredible. The food was delish, the service was incredible and we had a great time!
Great place to eat with friends. Food is top notch.
Fun time for girls trip. So glad we came!! I was the only one that had been before but we all loved it!!
Our waitress Patty was exceptional. She knew we had theater tickets and got us out in plenty of time!
Good food served family style in a noisy environment. A good spot to visit with kids, but be ready to wait, even with reservations.
Carmines has the best food in large portions. My favorite is the Calamari and the garlic bread. Always a winner when dining at this establishment!
Always a good meal and great amount of food for a large family. Food always tasty and specials are on point!!
The place to be on Times Square. Loud as usual. I make Carmine's bolognese from his cookbook and mine is better. I spend more time with it. Still fun before seeing Hamilton.
Nice but busy. So many people in the restaurant
