I couldn’t believe our luck when I found Carmine’s on the door step of our hotel. Having eaten in the Las Vegas restaurant in October last I couldn’t resist it. Got a late booking through open table so we skipped the queues. The place was buzzing on a Tuesday night , atmosphere was terrific and service was spot on. We had the Mussels and Special Carbonara and both were to die for.
It really made our trip to New York . Looking forward to visiting the Bahamas restaurant!

Went to Carmine's prior to seeing Aladdin on Broadway. We had a party of 8 and at first through the table may have been a bit tight, but it was just fine for the family style dinner. The food was delicious and served quickly so we had plenty of time to walk over to the theater.

Great food, great service. They were about 45 minutes behind on reservations on a Monday night, but it was worth it.

I know carmine prides itself in huge portions, but it’s s little ridiculous. If your there with a group but I was in from out of town with my daughter. We ordered chicken and pasta, I would have like a small salad, but my only option was a $25 salad — crazy that there’s no alternative for one person having salad. Similarly my daughter wanted a little dessert but the only options served three to four. This leads to tremendous waste (huge portions of uneaten food were being thrown out all around us (hotel stayers don’t really have an alternative and contributes to a rampant problem with obesity. I understand that big is a main part of the image — but when it’s this extreme and this rigid, it’s just poor customer service.

I'm sure others have raved about Carmines but this place was the highlight of all places we ate at this past weekend. Crazy busy and loud but we arrived for our 7:30 reservation pretty early so we could get out of the cold and they seated us within 15 minutes. I'm not sure you can find a better place in NYC to get your money's worth. My wife and I shared a simple plate of spaghetti and meatballs that could have fed 4 people. Couple of drinks and a bill of less than $50 is incredible. Pretty exciting place and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Definitely will have to return!

Carmine's is one of our favorite NYC venues! Reservations were easily made.... however, we were not allowed to "check-in" until the specific reservation time. We were informed that we would still have a 20 minute wait ... will continue to return every time we are in NYC.

The dining room was hectic, chaotic, and not efficient. I had to wait 10 min to get a wine glass for my wine after asking 2x. We had to ask a roaming waiter for plates. We could not hear our waiters explanation of the 3 chicken dishes, due to the loud noise.
It is a New York experience, but not one I would return for.

We visited Carmine's as part of my 10, 8 and 6 year old nephews Christmas present. Our server was fantastic. The table we had which needed to accommodate 8 people was is a place where the kids were not in anyone's way and still had enough room to move around.

I have been to Carmine's many times and this restaurant never lets me down. Being a first visit for my young nephews, they were amazed when the family style spaghetti and meatballs arrived at our table.

If you've never experienced Carmine's, it's a must try.

What a nightmare!!! Our reservations requested a high chair and they seemed surprised (even though we had a 12 month old with us) when we asked for it. The first highchair didn't have a buckle on it, which violates safety standards and renders it useless. The replacement one they brought had scraps of food on it, which we had to clean. The order of penne with Mariana sauce was delivered with meat sauce instead. The vegetarian in the group was the one who pointed out the mistake to the waiter, who confirmed that the sauce did in fact have meat in it. The replacement sauce took 10 minutes to prepare, by which time the food was already cold. VERY DISAPPOINTED in Carmine's, and next time we are in the area will opt for better food and service at a neighboring restaurant instead.

Grossly overpriced - their pasta special platter featuring 4 different types of pasta was tempting but at $35.95 a total rip off, it was tasty but for what couldn't have amounted to more than $8.00 worth of pasta and cheese,, way overpriced. The bill for two adults and two children each having one beverage (soda for the kids) each came to $ 186.00 no worth it. Serve yourself, no staff never came back to the table.
Would never go back or recommend.

Fantastic meal! Loved everything about it! My only suggestion would be to scale back the portions when 2 are dining. We went to a Game, and couldnt take the left overs. Disappointed but more so at the waste. Thank you!!!

I've been to Carmine's many times over the last 15 years and I am not sure what is better: the food or the memories created from every dinning experience with the friends and family that share the table. Love the staff here too- always warm with a keen sense of humor

Loved it! The food is both delicious and plentiful, as it is served family style. My only thought is that you need at least 5 or 6 people to make it a good value. We had 4, and the portions were too big for us, and it made it rather expensive. A party of 5 or 6 would have made it just right for the portion sizes (which were HUGE!!!!!) and the value. I'd go back in a second with a larger group

I love going to this place every time we go to a broadway show ,but this time the service was terrible. 10:00 reservation you would think the service would’ve been better. They where more interested in making sure my gift card was good before I walked out the door unbelievable.

Thought it was overrated. It was so crowded that we had to sit cramped up at the window with people standing around looking down at us. The garlic bread was not good, don’t waste your time and money. They didn’t tell us they already brought bread out. Not a good place at all unless there is a group. Waste of money, food and time for 2 people.

Very busy place. Felt like we were entering Grand Central Station. Had reservation for 7 PM. Arrived 15 minutes late :-( Traffic. Checked in and told they were behind so “45 minute” wait. Now Open Table is telling me I didn’t show up for my reservation?!
Overall, a fun and festive time. Waitress was overly tired or burnt out and didn’t mind if we knew about it.

The food was great, with the exception of the bread being very cold (the waiter stated that is the way they serve it ). I like my bread warm or room temperature, not cold. Waiter seemed disinterested in serving us. We had to wait for almost an hour with a reservation. If the food wasn't as good as it was I'm not sure I would be inclined to recommend or return. Think they should give you a complimentary drink or discounted drink when they are running so far behind on reservations. At $12 for a cocktail, that might be a bit of a pacifier.

We never got our table despite having a 6pm reservation. They overbooked the place, and acknowledged it. It was crowded and unorganized. They herded us all in there like cattle, insisting everyone who was waiting stand at the bar, where there was no room.

At one point they said we’d be seated by 7 but we didn’t want to chance it at that point. We had 8pm theater tickets and couldn’t wait anymore. So we went somewhere else. We weren’t the only people who did that.

Meanwhile, they allowed tables to sit there after they had paid, even though they clearly needed those tables to seat people.

I’ve never experienced anything so unprofessional and dismissive. Carmine’s was once a great place to eat. I’ll
never go there again after this. Sadly, I don’t think this negative review will matter to them.
