Always good Italian food.
Crowd restaurant, but worth the waiting.
Los platos muy abundantes , el problema es que por meter más gente las mesas están una encima de otra
Great food great service a fun spot to eat with a group of people.
Met my new favorite lasagna. It didn’t look like much, but man it was so perfect! We added cheese on top. Worth the extra bucks
One of the busiest restaurants in the busiest part of NYC and you'd expect to find fault in something that goes on here. But, I didn't. On this Sunday night, my husband and I were celebrating his birthday with a Broadway play followed by dinner at Carmine's. With reservations, we arrived 15 mins early to find the place so packed, that if it wasn't for our reservations we would have turned away. So, once we checked in at the front, we seated ourselves at the bar and enjoyed what the blonde-haired bartender assured us was "going to be a mean martini." 5 stars for the bartender. She was right. It was a mean martini.
We were seated in a reasonable time and enjoyed watching the place bustle with such an energized waitstaff that . Once seated, our server was ready for us and took care of our every request. The food came to us hot and smelling delicious. My husband ordered the fried calamari, which he devoured quickly. He ate straight from the platter, leaving me to pick around his fast-moving fork. I ordered the 4 pasta dish special and tried to slow myself down from eating so much. Everything was so tasty. It was the best.
I've been to Carmine's on 4 separate occasions, a bachelor party, a graduation, a wedding dinner and a birthday. So, yes I am a satisfied returning patron, because at each turn I enjoyed myself. The next day, while I was eating the rest of my 4 pasta dish, I informed my husband that we will not allow too much time to pass before we return to Carmine's. My birthday is in Sept, but Valentine's Day is right around the corner. So, husband of mine, get ready to call Carmine's for reservations.
Food was good, Menu and ordering took a bit because everything is family size. Never experienced anything like it before but we liked it. Just hard to decided on a dish
I recommend but...............it’s a business place. The people, the staff and the service was ready then you will go out soon as possible to place other persons at your place !
The food and the service was very nice but the noise and the go in - go out was desapointed.
The restaurant is very near the théâtres and the Time square.
The food was very good and very generous (one plate for 2)
It’s your choice !
Always a family favorite! Very good drinks and they never make you feel rushed
Ate chicken parm at the bar, great service and the drinks were spot on!
This was my 5th time eating at Carmine’s and it NEVER disappoints! LOVE the atmosphere, the staff, and the FOOD!! I’m a flight attendant and if my crew has not been, I make sure they go! Best Manhattans in Manhattan!
Mom and daughter trip
Best Italian food. Large portions that you can share.
Finally got to Carmine's. Food was delicious and the ambiance was very festive. Excellent value, the dishes might seem pricey but they are HUGE! Loved the artichoke appetizer and the Chicken Parmesan. If you go with a group, you can sample a few dishes family style. If not, you will almost certainly have delicious leftovers. Try it next time you're in Time Square for a Broadway show.
Always great food! Favorite restaurant in NYC
Best garlic bread I have ever had!! Not the best place for a kid who only eats pasta with red sauce as it is family style but my husband and I enjoyed every bite of our chicken parm!!!
Family style - with huge amounts of food. We ordered the plate with the 4 types of pasta. It was delicious, but way too much for 2 people. I visited with my daugher who is a vegitarian, so didnt try the meat menue items. I definitely would go back - with about 5 or 6 people.
Everything was perfect! Thank you.
Fabulous food and fabulous service. Make sure you come hungry!
Wonderful food & great atmosphere! Perfect for lunch right before a show!
We were seated less than 10 minutes upon entering.. the food and service was everything.. whole process the portions are family sized to each dish can easily serve four adults with the potential for leftovers.. definitely a nice treat after taking in some NYC sights!!
must have when your in nYC. make a reservation for sure highly recommended
Big, family style meals. Great for large groups. Ok for kids. Nothing fancy, but authentic food.
Incredible food, excellent service and an extremely fun atmosphere!
Amazing food and service!!
I would recommed Carmine’s but not this location.
Extremely noisy - had to wait even though my reservation was made a few months out.
I had 6pm reservation and waited 2 hours and never got seated. They kept saying “a couple more minutes”. They said this to the 5:30pm and 4:30pm reservatiins too. They were dishonest with wait times. I had guests i. From out of town and we had to go somewhere else. Its hard getting a last minute reservation for 7 people on a Saturday night.
The kicker is that Carmines told you guys that we ate there as i got an email saying “thanks for dining at Carmines”
Over hour and half wait despite reservations. Seated our large party in the aisle in small tables that would not accommodate the food trays. Waitstaff either overstretched or under-attentive they don’t tell you pricing on daily specials- do NOT assume they are even close to regular menu. Try $120/plate. Food fairly good. Not a place I’d take small chick den , claustrophobic people,or people who are unable to stand and wait for over an hour. .
We had a 6:00pm reservation and we arrived 10 minutes early only to find the restaurant very packed. There was very little room for standing. At 6:45 we left the restaurant as there were still 3 other groups ahead of us waiting to be seated and we had a 8:00 show to attend. We were very disappointed in not being able to be seated and have our meal.
Great food. Family style is great, allowing everyone to try different foods.
Very disappointed in the 45-minute wait WITH reservations, which were made months ago. Once we were seated, the service and food were great.
Horrible. I’ve never waited for an hour and a half PAST my reservation time anywhere else. Our reservation was for 5:30. After much complaining and questioning and receiving curt, dismissive answers (and watching those with later reservations being sat before us because they knew the host), we were seated at 7pm. My parents didn’t get to eat because they would have missed their show so we packed our food to go. I will never go back there again. Which is sad because I’ve been going there for 15 years. Absolutely atrocious all around.
Absolutely terrible service, poor management. Had reservations and we’re made to wait 45 minutes standing long bar. Then the staff gave another party who came after us first with a later reservation and same size party.
Then- finally we’re sat and waited another 15 minutes for the waiter to bring water and menus. Food was good when it came out.... one entre at a time with 5 minutes between them!
Ordered dessert and coffee, same story dessert came 15 minutes before coffee. I left the table to search for the waiter and told him he had a show to see and needed the check and skip the coffee. Coffee came 5 min later - no check! Had to go look again to find him for the check.
Management never came over once to check on anything, service was terrible, and would not recommend. The food was “ok” but not great Italian food. Dressed up chain restaurant with service you’d expect at a 1 star restaurant.
Don’t buy into the hype of the name, this place has isn’t anything great - more likely will end up ruining you night out.
I gave one star for service and overall and three for the others because I only got to see the lobby. In fairness to Carmine's I gave the other categories three stars because that's right in the middle and I don't know if the food was excellent or poor, so I split the difference. Had a 5:30 reservation, checked in well early (5:05) and that was that. I checked back at 5:45 and was told "we have a few tables paying now so it will be shortly". Checked back again at 6:15 and was given the same answer....10 mins later still nothing so we left at 6:25.
The fact that nobody seemed really to care about the 5:30 reservation was maddening. That and the way they kept cramming people into the front lobby with no room was insane. If you can't even seat your 5:30 people why are you letting the 6:00 people in the door?
I have waited tables and bartended for years and I try my best to never leave a bad review being that I have been in their shoes, but the attitude of the hosts and hostesses was outrageously poor. With literally a ton of places to go eat in NYC I will pick them all over Carmine's.
I'm sure they're not going to miss by business as there was a nonstop stream of people rolling in, but I'll spend my money elsewhere.
45 minute wait even with reservation made 6 months ahead of time. Liked the round table but were squished into a corner. Food was cold. Salad delicious. Wine terrific. Man at door with IPad worse than rude.
Had a great time with my wife on a date night!
We had 3:30 reservations and had a change in shift and got a new server who never came over to table and we were in the middle of dinner. His name was Alejandro and we finally had to get up and get a manager to order a dessert for the 50th birthday we were celebrating. When dessert came we had no plates or silverware.. Alejandro came back a tossed the plates on the table only 8 not enough for out party. We then had to get up again as he walked away before we could get his attention to get another plate or spoons. Again we waited and needed to finally see the manager to get our bill. We have been to Carmine’s on other occasions and never have been treated so badly...
Excellent service, food and value!
Good food, great portions, a little more expensive than I thought it should be.
It was my families first time there and they loved it! It really set the tone for our NYC weekend. Our waiter was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
Parking was a problem , across street at entrance of parking garage was full ,no sign no other lot to get parking validated by Carmine’s, other then parking Costing me 32 the food and service was excellent .
