Our 4th time at Carmines, it is a must go to for us when we visit New York. The food is very good although there is much better Italian food around. The atmosphere, the energy and the value offered make Carmines a favourite. This time we had the spaghetti and meatballs and so did the 2 tables next to us which is massive portion (true family style). Not that we needed it but we started with clams in red sauce which was great and the clams were very fresh however this was responsible for the large doggy bag we took with us.

Be careful the waiters send the max plate for us we told him we wanted a pasta and lobster he sent 2- 2 pound lobsters for 2 people tried to rip us off manager came out and settled half the bill off for the waste of food

Went based on a recommendation from a friend, I wish my friend had told me the portions were huge! Our server said it’s served family style and suggested not getting more than 2 things but 2 things was probably enough for 4 people (or more). Pasta was great, chicken parm was okay. Perfect location for dinner between a matinee and an evening show.

Great place!! Food was delicious, fun environment. Our server was great! Prompt but not over the top, he made us feel relaxed. The rest of the staff was polite and accommodating. For as busy as they were, we didn’t wait long nor did our food take very long. The mixed drinks( I had a Cosmopolitan) we’re very good. We had a very fun time!!! Would definitely go back!! I would also always make a reservation if you can. Enjoy

Busiest restaurant I have ever been in. Very vibrant atmosphere. Food was very nice but the amount of food waste is ridiculous due to their portion sizes. We watched tons of food being taken away on plates back to the kitchen. Ours included. Would have taken home but we’re staying in a hotel with no facilities to reheat. I’d like to think that they give food away to homeless charities. I really hope so.

A bit disappointed in the service. Ordered 3 appetizers, only got 2. Asked for butter twice. It never came. Ordered 3 entrees and only got two. Really long wait between apps and dinner. Food was decent but not awesome. Enormous portions. Also, really loud which was fine for our group but if your HOH or wear a hearing aid it’s torture.
