À faire ! Une institution.. Beaucoup de monde. Mais c'est une expérience à ne pas rater... Réservation obligatoire
Carmines is an amazing experience for lunch/dinner in the theatre district. Service was fabulous, everyone was very attentive and friendly. The music could have been a little softer, it was too loud so conversations were a bit strenuous. Great music but too loud. Drinks were a bit pricy but the food was awesome.
Our go to place before seeing a show in NYC! The portions are meant for 4 people, so bring friends!
The waiter was very absent minded , didn’t answer our questions about eje good properly
Very expensive for its value , chcken with spaghetti
this is not an italian restaurant, i hated it. The food was very very very very bad, worst meal ever. I am really sorry that i chose this restaurant):
Great food great service.
Our server was outstanding but the Food was just okay.
Went here right after i props to my girlfriend. The server was extremely receptive and genuinely happy for us! It made us feel right at home. They even comped our champagne and threw in a dessert for free! They really did an awesome job at making that special day even better
Well served food, always for 3 to 4 people, fair price and excellent service. I booked through Opentable and was called just in time.
recommend to all
Unfortunately, we were seated next to a large party that were really loud and using a lot of profanity through out our entire meal. I was with my 11 year old daughter. I understand that it was a busy night but we didn’t have a good time because of that. We tried to brush it off because service and food was great! But it was really unfortunately.
Best place and very tasty italian food in NY.
We ordered a chicken parmesan and it was amazing with food for at least 4 people for only one dish.
Great family atmosphere! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly! Go for a good time and ample food!
We always dine at Carmine’s every time we travel to NYC ! It always turns out to be a wonderful experience for ourselves as well as our guests !
Outstanding food, atmosphere, and service! We loved the family size portions and the quality of the food. The spaghetti and meatballs were perfectly cooked and the basket of bread was delicious and generous. Our waiter was very professional and efficient. The whole experience was top shelf. Thank you for a wonderful evening! We will be back!!
Excellent, great food. Great service. Recommend it
Food was excellent service was great anytime we are in NYC it is a stop for us.
Make a reservation! Place is a blast And the food is awesome. Go with a large party and you will have a blast.
Janice, our server, was helpful and delightful; a gem. Seated quickly and on time; very busy but never felt rushed. Noticed that canolis were smaller. Having leftovers tonite.
Pat our waitress fantastic. 24oz of Salmon $64.00!! Over priced.
With friends and family for a weekend in NYC
Dinner for four before Broadway show. Had a couple of cocktails before our reservation and we were sat in a timely manner. Waitress was excellent and attentive. Will definitely be back
went for lunch was handed dinner menu for upcharge, had to ask for lunch menu.
Amazing place to eat! Friendly staff and amazing atmosphere! Food was amazing!
Already came 5 years ago during pour last stay. Coming from France.
It was as i remembered.
Good place !
My daughter and I made a last minute trip to NY before the start of a new school year. We wanted to make it a girls only trip for some one on one time, and a friend recommended Carmine’s and we were glad we took her advice. Not only was the food delicious but the service was excellent!
I used to go to Carmine's all the time, but for some reason I haven't visited in years. Well, I am happy to report that the owners have kept things up, and the food and the experience is just as good as I remember.
The first thing you need to know is that reservations are a MUST. Otherwise, you'll be outside in a line-up begging for a table. The one issue we had was that even though we had a reservation, we were asked to wait by the bar, as were many others. But as the clock kept ticking, and it looked like we might be late for the theater, I asked the hostess why we were waiting even with a reservation. She got us a table right away so I never got an answer.
The other thing you need to know is that the food is served FAMILY style. This means every dish is HUGE and enough for 2-4 people easy. If you're only 2 people, chances are you only need to order 2 dishes. Either a salad and a main dish, or a main and a side. Anything else will be thrown out - no joke.
Our caesar salad was fantastic, enough for 4 but we were just 2. And this time we had spaghetti and meatballs, also great. Very basic, simple, good home cooking. Carmine's is also about the experience. It's about being part of the always full crowd, and the atmosphere.
Carmine's is perfect for a pre-show dinner or celebration, or just a regular night out. Enjoy and thank you Carmine's.
Booking for 6pm. Didn’t get table until 640pm. Service took ages which meant finally getting meal at 710pm. We needed to leave at 7.15pm to make our show.
We were gutted as had to miss most of the dinner to make the show.
Good food but spoilt by poor service!
Would love to go back if they could rectify the issues and run to time on bookings
Do not go to Carmine’s if you are heading to Show afterwards. I made our reservation three months out for 6pm on a Thursday night. We arrived early but did not get seated until 6:40pm. Also they had an elevator for my dad’s wheel chair but it was kept under lock and key and took ten minutes to open each time by a manager. Needless to say we were almost late to our show at 8pm three blocks away. The food was great but they are overwhelmed turning over tables and seating guests.
Just as you would expect from a classy establishment. Never go pre-theater without a reservation.
We had reservations at 5:30. Didn’t get seated until 6:10. We kept reminding the hostess that we had to see a show at 7:00. Didn’t really phase her. Waited another 10 min. before the waiter came to our table. Told the waiter we were in a rush. Got our food at 6:50, asked for the check at the same time. We ate our food in 5 min. and ran out of there. Not going back. It’s a shame because we really like it.
Great family style Italian! Bring a large party to be able to try more things!
Just being a tourist! Great menu.. if a family a four can all agree on 1 dish then it’s a great value... we have shrimp scampi w/ angel hair and a Caesar salad. Fabulous. Great servers topped it off.
The food was terrific- probably the best Caesar salad we’ve ever had! The manicotti was delicious. The service was good but could have been more attentive.
After Broadway show meal.
Best restaurant in the city hands down! A must on every trip!
The best way to have a family meal in the center of NYC! Make sure you get reservations ahead of time. This place has been packed nightly since it opened in 1990! So be sure you get a seat at the table. Great Italian food. Take if from me, I'm a NY Italian and this is where I choose to eat when I'm in the City!
First time eating here. We didn’t know it was family style when we made the reservation. We had Caesar salad and chicken parm. Both were excellent. We actually had an issue with the chicken parm. One of the two was fabulous- one of the best we have ever had. The second was burnt. When we pointed it out, they took it back and made a whole new plate of parm for us. Great customer service. Wine selection was also very good. If you have issues with stairs, the bathrooms are on the second floor. Overall, I was very pleased with our meal and the atmosphere.
Great food and atmosphere, waiter was nice and the titanic was amazing
Big portions best calamari,Caesar salad and porter house.
