I have been to carmine’s many times and i have never been this shocked or disappointed... I got the special which was pasta with clams, mussels, and a bunch of other seafood. It was great until it wasn’t. There was what it seemed to be a hermit crab or some kind of sea critter in our food. I don’t think it should have been there and I was grossed out afterwards so i couldn’t finish. I asked what it was or if that was normal, the waiter who was very nice said “ what is that” and then said “oh i’ve seen that a couple of times.
Not that I wanted a discount or anything but we didn’t get anything off the check and we just left as soon as possible. so i guess stay away from the seafood ...
Calamari was amazing and double veal was delicious.
La comida buena como siempre pero esta vez el
Mesero no estuvo a la altura
Energetic is an understatement. Can be crowded but the food and service make it worth it.
Great Broadway restaurant. True NYC Italian food. Generous portions, great service, and an overall friendly staff.
We loved the family share meals and the tables around us added to our experience.
It was good, I liked the family style a lot but it was so crammed, you could tell y’all tried to shove in as many tables as possible. The waiter barely checked on us too.
Wow! Food was excellent and HUUUUUUGE. Service was also excellent. I will definitely return next time I’m in Manhattan.
Well, our pasta was a little undercook our waiter took it to back he was phenomenal. Then the next serving tasted as if the pasta was cook in a seafood broil. I appreciate the effort but when you cook yourself personally and can tell the difference in taste I was just over it at this moment it was niece birthday
Carmine’s was amazing! From the service to the food to the wine. We had 4 members in our party ordered chicken Parmesan, shrimp scampi and linguine and ate almost all of it! It was outstanding!
Great place to a budget, but good food.
I was looking for a restaurant close to the Schubert Theater to have dinner after the show. Carmine's is across the street and I love Italian food, so I made reservations. This first pleasant surprise was the mixed drink. The Margarita was great. We ordered the Carmine salad and chicken parmesan. The salad was delicious and the chicken was outstanding. The chicken was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The gravy was just right, just like Mom used to make. If you decide to go, bring your family or lots of friends. Everything is served family style. There was just two of us, so we took lots of food home. We enjoyed that great food for two more days.
Excellent! Expected a lot but was better! :)
good for larger groups or people who what to eat the same thing. Otherwise too much food with family style dining.
Carmine's is a Time Square landmark. Best to go with a large group for dinner because the portions are very large. The lunch portions are smaller. If you are only two people, I recommend sitting at the bar.
FYI, the meatballs are very good. The serving portion is 6 meatballs but you can order just one.
great food, recommend going with a group of at least 8 this way several dishes can be ordered and all can sample a variety of items. Cost was a pleasant surprise
Always a great meal at your restaurant. That’s a challenge with such a big restaurant. We ordered shrimp scampi and chicken in a lemon butter sauce. Wonderful.
seating was to crowded. food was good however special was very pricey
We had a table of 10. Very quick and efficient service. Fun family style dining!
Never got my food even after waiter put in the order ended up sharing food .
We absolutely adore Carmine's and would recommend this wonderful family establishment to anyone. The food is always exquisite, the staff is always friendly and professional and we get exactly what we drive from Pennsylvania thru New Jersey into busy Times Square Theater District for each and every time!!! We did miss the bartender Junior has he was off on Saturday night :-(
Was our first time visiting Carmine’s, we had the best table in the house. It was up front by the window, was cozy. Food was delicious we would definitely return when visiting NYC in the future
Overall good experience.
Great food and portions are huge .
Carmine’s never disappoints! Reservation is absolutely necessary as the wait can be over 1 hour easily. Worth it tho!!
The food was very delicious. Cooked to perfection just like I like it. Will go back again.
Our family had an awesome dinner. We were seated on time, food was fabulous and server was very attentive.
I'll keep this simple. I have been to this restaurant numerous times. Always pleased. But this trip made me want to write a review. I was so impressed with how quickly they sat our table. We had reservations for 5:30 on a Friday night. They won't seat you until the rest of your party arrives. From the time our last person arrived, we were seated within 15 minutes.
While I waited for my friends, I sat at the bar. Miguel made sure to tell me there was an open seat and helped me move my drinks to it. I was able to sit and peruse the menu with ease. We decided to order appetizers while we waited, but ended up getting seated prior to the food arriving. Miguel made sure to bring up our appetizers as soon as they arrived. EXCELLENT SERVICE with an EXCELLENT attitude. He really set the pace for the whole evening.
Dinner was great. Food was outstanding. Our waiter was fantastic. AND HONEST! He gave us suggestions based on our preferences and we couldn't have been please more.
Thank you Carmine's for yet another wonderful evening with friends.
Carmine's is our favorite restaurant in the theater district. We've been patrons for many years. Their meatballs are the best. Their food is always fresh and consistently delicious. We have never been disappointed!
Booked for my daughters 16th birthday after theatre. Restaurant was extremely busy but seated pretty quickly close to reservation time. Waiter was not that friendly barely answered our questions and only came over with food and bill. Never checked yo see if we needed anything during our time there. Other staff members were not familiar with any questions said only waiter could help us. Food was good, not anything to brag about! Was much better last time we went. Never asked if we were celebrating anything and when making a reservation girl also could not answer questions about purchasing a cake for my daughters buryhday! Sounded as if she didn’t want to be bothered! We left and went home to have cake instead of staying since given a hard time when calling! Would have loved to stay!
Great family dinner before "School of Rock". The Shrimp Fra Diavolo was amazing and the Chocolate Cannoli was perfect.
Went for our sons birthday and let him choose the food. From the hot antipasto which was amazing to the ravioli, chicken parmigiana and shrimp scampi everything was perfect!
Mothers/daughters spending the weekend in the city.
Excelente preparación y presentación. Todo para compartir. Volveremos
I love the food, it was amazing!! Our waiter was also very nice and helpful with the choices from the menu!
Excellent location near theatre for family style Italian dinner.

Very crowded and loud restaurant. Food and service was good.
