A neighborhood restaurant at its core, Carmelo's has many regular guests and openly accommodates visitors to the area with welcome arms. Carmelo's hosts 16 tables and seats 5 at the bar, the perfect size for exceptional service and fresh, quality food. The staff is an essential part of Carmelo's success. The front of the house team works hard to anticipate and exceed our guests' expectations, while the kitchen staff diligently executes our ever changing seasonal menu. Dining at Carmelo's is an adventure and a way to enjoy the taste sensations of this season, while looking forward to the next.

Carmelo's Ratings and Reviews
Carmelos-my favorite place to celebrate special occasions-especially at holiday times-lovely decorations accented by flickering candle lights. Menu is outstanding-featuring locally grown food stuff. Great wine selections-many available by the glass. Innovative desserts-flourless chocolate cake is yummy! Impeccable service-Diane is a pro. And we love the ride to Lewiston from North Tonawanda.
We introduced our new neighbors' to our favorite restaurant. The mussels, with a touch of Sambuca, were so yummy that we decided on a second order. Our server, Heather, was so pleasant , accommodating and patient with our questions. For our entrees, everyone ordered something different, from fish to pasta...all were excellent. Carmelo's pasta dishes never disappoint. Missed out on the apple crisp, it was all sold out! No complaints only kudos, as usual. Thank you Carmelo!
Went on a rainy Wednesday night, had 6:15 reservations. Carmelo's was mostly empty and quiet then. We were immediately seated and handed some drink/dining menus. (They have a really nice "Mexican Mule"). The menu varies daily (I think, or at least weekly) depending on what ingredients are available locally. Companion and I split a mussel app and a lobster Caesar-type salad. Both excellent. I had pasta and she had duck breast. One thing immediately noticed was the level of seasoning and the choice of accompanying items were very well done, to my taste. Absolutely great service from our server Diane, she knew when to serve dishes, when to remove plates . Food arrived at an excellent pace through all courses. Restaurant started filling up as we were finishing, clearly a later-night clientele. Overall, can't see how you can go wrong, wish we got there much more often. Although not inexpensive, I thought we got an excellent value.
We were surprised at how long it took for our dinner to be served. Our meals were good, not the wow factor we had at Carmelo's in the past. And it sure would have been nice to have a little more than 2 tablespoons of the olive mix, and 4 small half pieces of bread.
We had heard from friends that Carmelo's was a very romantic restaurant, so we decided to give it a try despite the hour and 20 minute drive. We were NOT disappointed. Although their menu, which changes daily, is somewhat limited, everything we had was VERY good, the atmosphere was great, and our server, Heather, was delightful - as was the hostess/other server, I believe "April". I had mentioned it was my wife's birthday when I made the reservation, and she was given their Tiramasu - with a candle in it - on the house! And - that just happens to be her favorite dessert! All in all, a VERY nice evening, and well worth the drive.
Normally we enjoy Carmellos, so it was an easy pick for our anniversary. However, this time wasn't one of our better experiences. The two factors that really impacted our experience would be the noise volume---which isn't so much the restaurant's fault, just a large number of people in a small space who happened to talk in the key of LOUD. Acoustically, this made it tough for my husband who has hearing aids because it just amplified the volume so he was uncomfortable a good portion of the evening. The second issue, again based on the number of people this should have been expected, was the slower than usual service. It seemed like more than a few times our server forgot us---I was relieved when they finally left us with a bottle of water so we could refill ourselves.
We ordered the antipasto plate for the appetizer. I would STRONGLY recommend that the pepper relish be in a small container as the oils from it spread quickly to the other items on the platter, making it too spicy to really enjoy the subtle flavors of the mortadella and the goat cheese.
My husband was a bit disappointed with the menu options which leaned heavily on seafood. That said, he did enjoy his hangar steak when it arrived, cooked to a rare perfection. My Chicken Milanese was delicious as well--generous portion topped with a fresh herby salad and a lemon vinaigrette. I would suggest that the current menu be available online for viewing so that people can decide for themselves if this rather inventive cuisine appeals to them. I do know from past dealings that they are accommodating, we just opted not to stray from the menu.
We will return to Carmellos again, but perhaps select a night that's less popular and more conducive to the cozier dining experiences we've enjoyed there in the past.
The food comes from a creative chef. I told Carmelo to surprise me with whatever he thought I would like and wasn't disappointed! He started with a homemade pasta with olive oil and garlic which was fantastic. Next was slice tomato with crostini bread seasoned with garlic and olive oil and warmed goat cheese. The entree was sword fish on a swish card pancake which melted in my mouth. I was totally satisfied!!
The food was good. We had the mussels appetizer. Good amount of mussels. Just wished there was more bread. The sauce was amazing. The Lamache was very good and the shrimp cooked to perfection. The vegetarian pasta was super fresh and zesty. Food was Great. The only down side, I wanted a quiet place and that is not happen.
we absolutely loved your restaurant. All of us loved our drinks and food, and the staff was very friendly and quite attentive. We had lots of time to have our first drink before our appetizers and main meal and we sat in the window and it was the best....
I had phoned ahead of time and asked to be in a great spot and we got the best spot in the place.
Would recommend it to anyone wanting a great meal with superb ambiance.
My wife and I have enjoyed Carmello's for over twenty years now and never had an unpleasant experience. The service is exceptional and the food is superb! In my opinion, it's an adult restaurant. It's not the best place for children, but a great place for a date or intimate dinner. Wonderful!!
This was, without a doubt, one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. I think we have found a new favorite place for dinner. The sauces were amazing! As they say on some of the cooking shows, I would eat and old flip flop if it had this sauce on i!. It was that good! The homemade pasta was perfect and the portions were just right. Not too much, no too little. Yeah! I think we'll be back!
