We are always happy with our meal and the ervice at Carmel's
Excellent menu, wonderful food.
Need to get their house in order. Not a lot of customers for a Friday. Everything was back to front. Ordered the main, then the starter and then the drinks.
Starter arrived, then 30 seconds the main course arrived and the starter was pushed aside to start the main dish. Expensive for four beef medallions and mash potatoe $29.00 and Lobster Fettuccine $39.00. Would i go back - nope!
It was our 1st visit. It took awhile for the waiter to greet us. Food was good. Tigre, our server assistant was amazing. I would go back.
Overall, this was a great find without having to go all the way downtown. The service was EXCELLENT! I can't remember our waiter's name, but he really made our evening with awesome service. The food was good, not extraordinary, slap your mama, but it was good. Everything was reasonably priced as well. I even loved the bathroom. It was clean, spacious, and it smelled nice. You may not think it matters, but after several drinks, it does. I will definitely come back and bring another friend!
Great service from walking in to being served on. Food with average overall. House salad was very good although slighlty too much dressing. Lobster bisque was excellent! Tuna tartare appetizer was bland and lacked decent amount of tuna per piece. Grilled shrimp kabobs were overcooked and shrimp turned rubbery. Bacon-wrapped scallops were cooked perfect and plenty of flavor. Although for the price there might be other places that are "for sures" this is worth a try. Waiter we had did a great job timing plates, providing attention and checking in frequently.
We thought that this would one of the better restaurants in Coppell, and it was. The food was very good, include the Vegan options, and there was a great variety of things on the menu. They have a small but high quality wine list, we both enjoyed our wines by the glass. I had an innovative salmon file stuffed with crab and brie and my wife had a vegan meal taken from various appetizers and side dishes. The deserts were great, I had the chocolate mouse cake. It was pretty noisy inside, if it had been warmer, we probably would have gone outside.
Valentine's Day dinner was the occasion and it was perfect. The Staff was the best! Everyone was happy and seemed to enjoy making sure we felt like VIPs and the dinner was the highlight of our night out.
The Filet Oscar was perfect, Prime Rib was almost perfect. I ordered it medium when I meant to say medium rare and I got it exactly medium. It was still excellent but I will remember that the chef knows what he is doing.
It was the perfect Valentine's Day experience and I recommend it to everyone.
We had 7:30 reservations for Valentine's Day through OpenTable and we arrived 15 minutes early. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. The hostess admitted they had overbooked. My date and I had to go to the bar to wait, no chairs, embarrassing. My date noticed the hostess talking to last minute walk-ins so I went to talk to her and she had totally forgotten about us! She asked me how long I had been waiting and when my reservations were! She pointed to an open table, I went and grabbed my drink from the bar and told my date to follow me, I didn't want the hostess to give that table away! Not very classy on my part but I had to salvage what I could. Our wait ended up being at least 30 minutes. We were not offered any compensation whatsoever by management. I don't they had any idea what was even going on.
they tried to trick us, saying it has been overly busy and we could dine at the bar.. the entrees were not warm, appetizer, dessert was excellent, wine took a while to be served! agree it was pretty busy, being Valentine’s Day but no excuses to this place
Special Occasion noise level was pretty high, but we were put at a table near the bar. We prefer a booth, sitting at the table had the disadvantage of having traffic pass you both at your left and right, plus you have the standers at the bar talking loudly. Always love the food at Carmel's, our favorite restaurant, but next Valentine's Day we will opt out. The food was delicious, the service spectacular, but for $85. per person, would have preferred not feeling rushed through dinner or having to sit between the bar and booths, took the romantic feel out of this dinner. I do, however, recommend this restaurant for a regular date night. We always share an appetizer, entree, sides and dessert and for our age... mid fifties.... it is plenty of food. The 4-course entree served on Valentines was too much food and the night cost us $250. Yes, you can take home a doggy bag, which never is the same. Spend the money going twice on two regular nights where you get a booth and are not rushed through dinner. Btw, we had no idea that the Valentine's reservation forced the $85 per person option until we were seated. We made our reservation on Open Table. Not sure if they tell people who call in. It really was not our intent to spend $250 for our Valentine's Day dinner. We won't do Special Occasion there again.
A really disappointing meal for Valentines.
They ran out of Prosecco but the time we arrived at 6:30PM. I ordered prime rib but they didn't have that either so it turned out to be rib eye - over seasoned, thin and an exceptionally poor cut of meat. The bacon wrapped asparagus had been dying in the window.
The servers seemed stretched thin but its a busy night so to be expected - they were trying hard but just not able to fix all the mistakes. The restaurant was loud and surprisingly there were a lot of children. There were parents bringing in fast food so as to avoid the $85/plate fixed menu.
Nothing makes it feel like an elegant night out than the table next to you having McDonalds!
Overall not worth the money given the other dining options in the area.
I would give Carmel a pass and look elsewhere
Went to this restaurant unknown to us. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent as well as the service. A little pricey, but well worth the value. We recommend this venue for anyone seeking a new discovery.
Hopefully this was an off night for the restaurant. We were sat in a room away from the main restaurant. It took about 10 minutes before we saw our server, then all our food was quite slow. The appetizers came before the drinks. They were out of lamb, but didn't update the bill. It seemed like everything was difficult. I will say that my drink, the goat cheese appetizer, and kabobs were decent. However, the service was very disappointing.
We enjoyed it all - good food, nice ambience. Food was very good. Cocktails wonderful but on the small side! Service was a little slow. We would go back.
Great food and atmosphere for a business celebration event!!!
A great evening was marred by very slow kitchen service. They appeared to be short staffed.
My experience was absolutely fantastic. Started off with an extremely friendly host greeting us at the door that talked to my girlfriend and I for a bit about how far we drove and were we were from. All the servers were on point never needed to ask or wait but they weren't intrusive to our meal. The food was phenomenal. The host which I found out at a later time was the manager gave us a free desert. I'm unsure of the name but it was an odd looking ice cream with peanut butter sauce, crushed pistachios and I'm sure a couple of other things I'm missing. The waiter put it the best way. "Hearing about it and seeing it doesn't make any sense but when you taste it you'll understand" Wow was he right the desert was so amazing. I would honestly come back just to have that again. I drove a little over an hour and half to get there and will definitely be returning.
Fantastic drinks, great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly & attentive staff! Never disappointed. Many gluten free options.
Always great food & Malec & Alex have developed a fantastic crew creating excellent service with a great bar selection
3 phases of a dining experience: 1) the welcome, 2) the dining experience itself, 3) the close-out.
For us the middle phase was great- food, service was perfect. However the beginning and the end were frigid and uninviting. No one greeted us at first. Finally, a waiter came by and said, "Help you?" We said we had a reservation. He acted as though we were a bother. He finally said "oh okay" and showed us to a table. We asked for a booth. He said no because that table was "reserved" Um... hello- what do you call our reservation?? So we went with his table and I asked about champagne. He said it was on special so I said great I'll have a glass of it. He said "We don't sell it by the glass - just the bottle". I asked how much a bottle was and he said "Same as in a store" (What does that mean??) The wait staff and food were great. When it came time to leave we gracefully passed the hostess who turned her head away from us as if to avoid having to say good-bye or thank you or have a nice evening- zilch! A chilly reception and a frigid exit left us disappointed. Will we go back? Possibly, but not anytime soon.
I have always been happy with my experience at Carmel's.
First time, loved it
Servers and staff were very attentive and accommodating. The food is pretty good here and it is a hidden gem in Coppell for great Mediterranean Food.
We both ordered Kabobs, unfortunately they were out of the lamb beef kabobs by the time we ordered around 8 last evening, so we had chicken.
Wine and appetizers were great!
Great ambiance and good food! We will continue to patronize this restaurant.
I love this place! Delicious food and great atmosphere.
Off night but still recommend for dates and special occasions.
Wonderful food, great drinks, fantastic service. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Food was just ok...
Excellent food choices!
My Wife n I loved our dinner and experience every time we go to Carmel. They always make us feel special n loved. The service from the hostess, servers, managers, bartenders are top notch.
Always great service with wonderful food & cocktails
Excellent food and service in a comfortable setting. Staff are always cordial.
Excellent food, great service. The atmosphere is low key with the ambiance of a vineyard restaurant. The food offering is a perfect blend of California and Israeli cuisines that we love. From the appertizers to main dishes there isn't an item on the menu we wouldn't recommend.
This is a very nice restaurant to have nearby without going into Dallas. The food and atmosphere are excellent. We will be back.
It's a usual weekend Coppell dinner spot for us. Food is always top notch with excellent service & great bartender serving perfect cocktails.
We had a very good experience at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I made a reservation here at 5 when it opened and we were in and out. The food was very good and the service was very good too. We would definitely recommend this place.
We have been regulars from opening day until today
Always accommodating & consistantly good
Waitor was very inattentive, despite being a slow night. Food was good, but took a long time to come.
