Love it here! Went for Mother's Day, then 2 days later on Tuesday with a friend, only to find out on Thursday that they closed their doors and will not reopen. How disappointing...

Great ambiance, good atmosphere, good food.
Embarrassing incident with the waiter, who forgot to run the Carmel points card and deduct credit in my account on the bill. Had to get up and remind him to do it, rather than have it done discretely, since I was inviting my friends that evening.

Let me preface by saying I have been to Carmel on several occasions for dinner and really liked it. I went there for Mothers' Day; at approximately 3:30pm - I had called earlier in the week to ensure that I would have access to the dinner menu and not the brunch buffet they had advertised for Mothers' Day. I was told brunch stopped at 2pm. Taking my mom out to dinner to a crowded buffet is not my idea of a great Mothers' Day meal. When i arrived I was greeted by a team of lackluster teenagers; who basically just threw me at a table. The place itself was in a horrid state - crumbs and food all over the floor. It looked like it had been ransacked. For 5 minutes no waiter came to the table, to take a drink order. Then I realized the only option was the brunch buffet which I had been told would be done by 2pm. Who wants to eat brunch at 3:30pm?! So I had to make a quick call to get into another restaurant because neither my mother nor i wanted brunch - especially in a filthy setting with one cook to make all the omelettes. What would make the owners think that having brunch all day would be a good idea and not even to clean the place during the service - I am truly disappointed and the owners should be ashamed.

Mother’s Day brunch was great. A little pricier than I’d anticipated but delicious none the less.

I booked a reservation for Mother’s Day. It did not state on their menu it was for a buffet only , and I wasn’t made aware of that until we had already arrived. I would’ve booked a reservation somewhere else had I known it was buffet only. Despite our reservation, there was confusion at the hostess station and of the three people up there they couldn’t seem to figure out where to seat us (and it wasn’t crowded -yet). Our waitress told us we could help ourselves to the buffet, except there was a long line to wait for our food and it only got longer as the restaurant began to fill up. While I was waiting, they ran out of pancakes and bacon so the manager thought it was appropriate to literally yell into the kitchen to bring out more food. He was steps away from the kitchen and should have walked in there to either get the food himself or tell someone to bring it out. The food was cold, bland, and overall not good. Even the coffee was bad. I had to pay $35 a person for a buffet that I didn’t want, didn’t enjoy, and ultimately didn’t eat. I saw they had pretty good reviews so I was excited to try it. Needless to say that I was embarrassed that brought my family there and disappointed in the food.

The calamari portion was very small for the price. We ordered a caprese salad which had four tiny pieces of cheese on the plate. My daughter's steak came out med rare she ordered it well done. Also the waitress was nice but not coming back to check on the table

I will say upfront, this was not my choice for a restaurant. A family member wanted to go. Our waiter, Joe, was very friendly, the service was excellent. However, the food was mediocre. The lemons in the gilled lemonade drink were NOT grilled and there was maybe a drop of vodka... $10 for a glorified lemonade ;( None of the food was authentic. If you love Middle Eastern food, do not go here, check out one of our local family restaurants instead. If you prefer chains, Carmel Kitchen will probably serve you well but I will never go again.

We shared the happy hour portion of calamari. It was very tender and tasty, not chewy at all. My husband enjoyed the bone -in pork chop (which was a special) and I loved the generous portion of red snapper. We will definitely return.

Wonderful al fresco dining with a dreamy young waiter. We were not rushed as we sat by the fireplaces and celebrated the new baby!

My wife and I went on a Saturday night. We have been there before. We really enjoy it. Good food, nice ambiance, and we had a great waitress. She was fun, attentive, and made the meal an even better experience. We will certainly return to Carmel Kitchen. Always a fun experience!

We have eaten at Carmel quite often, however this is the first time I ordered the Mediterranean Rice Bowl. I had it with the chicken. It was outstanding. I truly hope that it stays on the menu.

Not my first time at Carmel so I rate based on comparison experiences. Value here is top notch. You can’t beat the happy hour drink specials. Food is excellent as well but I struggle with happy hour food specials as they aren’t normal portions. For example, $9.99 regular meatball appetizer is 2 meatballs but happy hour $6 meatball appetizer is 1 meatball. Better off getting 2 at regular price. Calamari is the same issue, the regular price portion is easily double the happy hour amount. 8 prefer to pay for the food at regular portion/price and enjoy the drink specials.

This particular visit was busier than usual. The louder environment has a lot of energy and is good for dates or business dinners. The downfall this time was the timing of service. It was off this visit, slower than prior meals. It wasn’t awful by any means, just not what I’ve come to expect from previous dinners. The food was excellent but there was inconsistency. Appetizers, meatballs and calamari, tasted wonderful. Calamari was fresh and hot but meatballs were maybe room temperature. Note: the calamari here with capers and pickled fried peppers is outstanding. Meatballs are only rivaled by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. Two of us ordered the Cuban sandwich which was excellent and we agreed the best we’ve had. However, the fries served with it were cold.

Carmel is a really is a great-bang-for-your-buck restaurant. It’s borderline mid-high end quality food with a trendy and vibrant atmosphere. If you take advantage of the happy hour drinks, you can’t go wrong.

I can easily recommend Carmel to anyone and will be back for business dinners and date night with certainty.

Drinks were decent (pear and whiskey, red wine) Pesto chicken Alfredo way too salty, probably would have been very good without all the sodium. Tuna app was okay, seemed like it was plated ahead of time and not very fresh. Pound cake dessert was okay. If the prices were 60% then maybe I would be happy with the value but the menu and prices were not executed enough in the food quality

Definitely have to go to this restaurant more. We made an early reservation for dinner before a hockey game. It was St. Patty's Day - so we wanted to get in somewhere where we didn't have to wait. A great table was waiting for us. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with new specials and preview menu for the Spring. The Rueben sandwiches two of our diners had were outstanding, and my lobster roll sandwich was delicious. They will modify any items to your liking, which is so flexible. They asked immediately about allergies - so great option for anyone who has those concerns. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. I joined their dining program, and can't wait to go back.

This visit to Carmel was on a Saturday evening. As usual the ambiance was very nice with a welcoming fire in the fireplace, and upscale decor in the bar and dining areas. The restaurant was busy, but not at full capacity, yet the kitchen seemed to be having a little problem keeping up. My salmon was underdone and needed to be sent back. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meals, and finished with a shared desert. It's always a pleasant experience at Carmel, and we'll be back.

Every time we come here we have a great experience. We always bring someone new who has never experienced Carmel Kitchen and they leave wanting to go back. The menu is always great and makes choosing a meal difficult. That always gives us a reason to come back. The only “negative” I have, is that I do wish the dessert menu was expanded.

I would probably not come back for brunch. Service was great but food was mediocre. I have been there for lunch, which was much better. I would return for lunch. I organize a group of retirees and we have been there several times for lunch and have been pleased.
