Carlucci - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
We were there to celebrate a bday, an anniv., Christmas, and Hanukkah - the booth was a little tight what with presents, but we made it work - cozy! Our waiter was fabulous - his name was ARDIT and very personable, attentive, and just all around spectacular!
I enjoyed my dinner as did two of the others in my party. My husband, however, did not enjoy his. The mussels ordered as an appetizer were not good at all. His dinner (a seafood bowl of some sort) was not at all as good as he expected. The service was excellent and the waiter even treated us to an after dinner drink. Overall it was good, but the poor appetizer and one poor meal did spoil it for my husband.
Service was terrific. Food was good. Wine list superb. The hiccup was the reservation: made through Open Table and confirmed. One of my guests arrived early only to be told there was no reservation under my name. Embarrassing. When I arrived the front desk informed me that Open Table routinely doesn't complete in their system? I showed him the confirmation on my phone and we got a table. But really, if you can't count on the integrity of the reservation, that's a problem. He said I should have called to confirm? Really? I had a confirmation in two different forms from Open Table so why would I call? Frustrating.
A delightful and unexpected find! Falls in line with top-rated Italian restaurants anywhere. Cosmopolitans were excellent. The wide ribbon pasta dish and the risotto special were outstanding. And the complimentary after dinner drink - I need the recipe! Thank you Christian, and the Carlucci family, for a wonderful, quiet, and enjoyable dinner where not a single person was on their phone!
Service and food were excellent but I need to mention two things:
1. The food is overpriced for an Italian restaurant. Salad/ soup should be included in the price , not extra. We paid $120 a couple and we didn’t have the most expensive meals. The choices were somewhat limited.
2. The restrooms are not in the restaurant but one has to leave the restaurant, go down a long, dark grey hall (which I believe is part of the Marriott ) and turn down another hall to find it...a little scary to take that walk with no one around... a crime waiting to happen. Something should be fine about this.
So, though we had a nice visit with our friends, we don’t plan on going back anytime soon.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays and I could not wait to have the Pasta with all the seafood (Frutti di Mare) 3 at our table ordered this, however my plate had no flavor at all, we asked for it to be spicy, it was not. I had to add salt from the table. I was very disappointed because this dish was over $35.
Our server was less than accommodating, they were more concerned with getting us out and turning the table.
We drove for over 1 hour to get there, needless to say, we will not be back.
Followed the advice of earlier reviews & sat at a very nice booth at the bar to avoid tight seating in main dining room. It was very good advice. David our waiter was fantastic. He understood that we needed to get to our reservations to a local entertainment establishment and expedited our meal as requested. The caprese appetizer was fantastic. We enjoyed both wine for my wife and an exceptable IPA for myself. Our main course came with plenty of time for us to savor and still get to our entertainment engagement as planned. My wife ordered a plentiful pasta dish with shrimp called Cappanelle con Gamberi that she not only thoroughly enjoyed, but provided a take home portion that I was able to taste the next evening. I was less fortunate with my marinated stuffed pork chop. It came over done on the presented side, but the stuffing of prosciutto and fontina cheese was quite good with the plate side of the chop. Sides of nicely done spinach and generous portion of corn soufflé made the dinner acceptable. Overall we would give Carlucci’s 4.5 and will definitely return for a second visit and if at all possible request David if at all possible. Thank you Carlucci’s for a memorable meal to what ended up as a fun evening in Rosemont Illinois.
Beyond all expectations in every regard! We were a group of 7 enjoying lunch before seeing off friends who were flying back home to Cologne Germany. We were there over 2 hours. We never felt rushed, the waiters were attentive and well informed, the room is inviting and we could see the flames of the wood fired oven across the way and smell the crusty pizzas cooking. Prices are more than fair. Although we live in Chesterton Indiana i will be looking for an excuse to return soon and definitely will recommend it every time I have a chance! Thank you Mr Carlucci ( who visited us at our table!) and staff!
The food was good the only problem was the steak was over it done, but the waiter was quick and bought us another steak it was usually really busy night for Saturday had reservations at 8, little loud in a smaller place and i would get together with friends again. The dessert platter was wonderful I will be back from again!!
The staff and Maitre D went out of their way to ensure that we had a very pleasurable dinning experience. We requested a booth on Open Table and we had to wait about 10 minutes for one to open. The Maitre D apologized and offered to give us a table immediately. We choose to wait for the booth and our party was very happy that we waited. The booth was cozy and enabled us to have great conversation. The food and service was wonderful. Thanks for a very enjoyable Saturday night!
