Carlucci - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was outstanding. We were there with our sons and their significant others and everyone really enjoyed their meals and will certainly return. The Capesante e Gamberi con Pancetta, Arancini Ripieni con Fomaggio , and Gorgonzola e Noci were a big hit for starters. Then we each had different entrées, each better then the next. We will be back.
My daughter was home from college and had a taste for Italian food. We had lunch at Carlucci's and overall it was a very good meal!! We both had their signature pasta dish (where they finish it a wheel of cheese, scraping the sides to infuse the pasta with Parmigiana. Their tomato bisque soup was also excellent!
We started w/ a couple of apps, fried calamari and pastry wrapped cheese. Their calamari is always good and the cheese was tasty when you got cheese in your bite (crust was a bit thick). Daughter had risotto of day with filet, it was beautiful in that it nestled in a bird nest of pasta. Wife went with the barramundi which was perfectly prepared and I went with pork chop saltimbuca. Both my wife's and my dish were perfect.
Chose Carlucci's due to its proximity to O'Hare as we were dropping our daughter off. Worked out perfectly. Wish we had time for dessert.
My significant other and I went to Carlucci's in Rosemont for a romantic New Year's Eve dinner. We were very impressed to say the least. From the pre-selected menu that evening, we were able to choose our own salad, pasta dish, main entree, and dessert for a set price, which was reasonable for the occasion.
The food and service were great and I would highly recommend this venue for an anniversary dinner, birthday or business meal, or any date night in general. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and thought it was quite romantic and decorated well. I would be interested in dining at Carlucci's in Rosemont again in the future.
I would not recommend this restaurant. Started out fine but when the busboy took all our utensils after the second course and didn't replace them, went downhill from there. Dinner was placed and proceeded to get cold while we waited to flag someone down. The same thing happened to the adjacent table. The waiter took too long to come back for a refill on the drinks. My daughter didn't bother. Had two of the three cold dinners wrapped to bring home. We threw them out the next day. Some mistakes were understandable because of the New Year's holiday, but these were not excusable. Sorry , I'm not impressed with Carlucci's and wouldn't recommend it.
I had a reservation for 6:30 pm on New Year’s Eve. I didn’t think for a minute my date and I were going to be put in this outside off the wall make shift dining room. Our server was nice but not efficient in any aspect of our meal. It took almost 15 minuets to even get greeted, and even after that it took almost as long to get a drink order from us. I realize this is a busy night, but for the price you are paying per person their should be a certain level of service expected. Being that I run a restaurant myself I can understand certain things, but our service was terrible. The food was absolutely outstanding, but once again,if I’m paying for an entire experience, I should receive that service to go along with the price tag.
Came for an early New Year’s Eve dinner before our other plans. Service is excellent, just made you feel welcomed. Even though we had a 2 hour window to dine, we never felt rushed. Dining area was quiet as there were a few other dining patrons. I ordered the pasta with shrimp in a cream sauce. My date had the chicken Vesuvio. He said next time he would skip the salad and just order the dish, because he wasn’t able to finish it but wanted to. Great way to end a year and start a new one. I will be back.
Nothing was right from the start. Felt like they were pushing us to sit in the bar. We sat in main dining. If they needed us to sit in Car because of Cleaning they should have told us. Saw there was lunch specials that included a glass of house wine. Was never told what wine was house so when we ordered ended up not getting the special because the wine we selected was not house. Food was cold and horrible. Guess it was premade. Too many preservatives got a major headache after trying the food. Very bad experience.
Nice ambiance. However tables to close I was constantly being bumped. Chair was on part carpet and floor. So not comfortable. The restrooms are a block down a slippery hallway and it took to long for dinner to arrive and the check to be paid and returned.
The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful but all of the above over shadowed the dinning experience.
The location of this restaurant is perfect for us. We come from Wilmette and Glen Ellyn and this is about the midway point. The service is what keeps us coming back. The food is quite yummy but the staff makes it special for us. Unfortunately, Grumpy was off :-) We did get to see Art and Art's Dad was our waiter - he was great.
I think this is one of the best restaurants in the Chicago area, food is great, service is even better. Nice variety, great ambiance, comfortable booths or tables and free valet. Super meat and cheese tray for app as well as excellent calamari. Steaks are great too. Cannot say a bad thing and been here many times. Server ART, is the best waiter I have had in the area, so you are in luck if you get him to be your waiter. Enjoy.....you will return again and again.
The restaurant had festive decorations. Our waiter was fantastic. He suggested a pasta course which allowed us to enjoy a very rich pasta in a portion that was perfect. The courses were spaced perfectly and we were surprised with a beautiful dessert tray and after dinner spirits. Overall an amazing experience!
The server's recommendation for the seafood ravioli was described completely different from what was actually served - a smokey-flavored overcooked entree with a sauce that just didn't complement the noodles or seafood - which consisted on just 3 mini-shrimp. I've had much better meals at Carlucci previously, but they seemed ill-prepared for the holiday crowd, and I was disappointed. Will not be returning, despite the "apology free shot".
