   Long time fan of the Ruby restaurants. For me, it is frequently the standard to which I compare other restaurants. Unfortunately from check in by nonchalant hostess to inattentive and slow service staff on this occasion the service was miserable; definitely left me with buyer’s remorse after $1000.00 evening at dinner. Assume an off night but will plan carefully our next dining experience. Although the food was great as always, experience left me disappointed.

   We’ve been to Jeff Ruby’s Precinct on several occasions. This was our first time at Carlo & Johnny which has, by far, the longest reservation wait. You need to reserve a good 6-8 weeks out to get the weekend at a good time. I didn’t plan well and our anniversary was fast approaching, which was on a Friday. I kept checking back to see if anything opened up and by good luck, I got 8:15pm on the patio. Some people will say the food is why you go to Jeff Ruby. I have to say, I can get a really good steak at other premium restaurants. Premium being the key; don’t think you can get this quality steak just anywhere. But what really sells it for me at Jeff Ruby is the service. Jeff Ruby knows how to make dinner an experience with perfect timing throughout the entire night; from the first drink order, to the delivery of the bread, to the delivery of the appetizers and/or salads. Then just the right amount of time to settle your food a bit and to chat before the presentation of the main course. All the while the wait staff is so attentive with suggestions and an outward thoughtfulness of your experience. Being our anniversary, we ended with a complimentary assortment of desserts, all of which were incredible and worth the visit on their own. Now, no good review can be had without a suggestion for improvement. On the patio we were seated at a 4 seat high top table. There were 3 other similar tables as well as an 8 seat high top, a 5 seat low top and an 8 seat low top. The high tops seamed out of place, and the chairs of the high top quite uncomfortable, so much so that I remarked to my wife and shifted in my seat most of the dinner. My opinion, ditch the high tops (save them for the bar area). Only being able to observe the low top tables and seats, they seamed they would’ve been extremely more comfortable. So yes, go to Jeff Ruby’s for the food; it is amazing. But come back for the service; that’s truly unforgettable.

   Came for my son’s 50 th birthday, brought a dessert sampler with a candle , nice touch, 13 yr old grandson was treated very well, we were all very pleased, left with very full tummies, it was a great night, thanks Kathy F

   What an amazing experience from entering the door and beyond. They have 2 servers per table to make sure everyone is well taken care of. Both Cam and Mike were amazingly attentive, you can really tell the love their jobs and taking care of people.

    Carlo & Johnny is our go-to spot for both business meals as well as dinners with family or date night with my wife. We have lived all over the world and Carlo & Johnny is our preference over all the other Ruby establishments. The management, staff, and meals are always top-notch! We always appreciate Adrian and Greg and their vast knowledge of selections and superior service, as well as the dedication from the servers’ assistants. Thank you for a wonderful time!

    We’ve always had great experiences here so we took our family to celebrate our son’s graduation. The food was not good this time. 2 of the steaks were so incredibly undercooked that my son felt sick after he ate it. Service was just ok- not great. It’s unfortunate that we spent so much money and were so excited to celebrate my son and had a bad experience. Very disappointed.

    Ok, we had a bad experience. Unfortunately this makes two of the last three times we've gone this year. We ordered the sea bass special and the New York strip along with some sides and such. Ordered medium, the steak came out rare. They took the steak back, cooked it more to meet the temp. This causes the steak to dry out because it's been cut into. Texas Roadhouse doesn't bring back the same steak if not cooked properly, lol. The steak was also very tough. My steak knife had to work to get through it. They comped the steak and some desert which helped, but we left hungry. The manager didn't bother coming out to apologize either. They aren't meeting our expectations any longer.

    There was a problem with my son's steak. For some reason, the taste was like burnt plastic. They made him another one very quickly and comped it on our bill. That is what we expect from an establishment of that caliber. The wait staff was outstanding.

    Excellent food and service. Adam, our server was over the top. Very knowledgeable. My steak Collingsworth was delicious and prepared to proper temperature. The Mac and cheese is the best I have even had.

    We have always loved Carlos and Johnny's, but this time, none of our steaks were cooked correctly. 3 of us just accepted ours, but they had to remake the 4th one. It was cooked correctly the 2nd time. All sides were delicious. Best Caesar salad we've ever had. Also, they packed our to go in wrong bags so we did not get what we were planning.

    Made reservations, it was for an outdoor table we sat at the bar for a drink while we waited for our table. The hostess came to grab us but we just ordered drinks she said that was ok get our drinks and pay out and then they would seat us. That took about 10 minutes we went to the hostess she walked us out to our table. Then she said our waiter would be out to clean our table! Who seats someone at a dirty table?! 2 young guys came to our dirty table we had to step back to not get sprayed with cleaner. Then they very uncoordinatedly got our drink order and utensils. They were very unorganized and appeared to have no clue what they were doing. We sat there for 10 minutes and never saw them again. Needless to say…we finished our drinks and left. We have been to The Precinct in the past and had a lovely experience. Not so much here. The bartender was great we wish we had sat at the bar, and not outside, maybe that would have made our experience better. Very disappointed we were excited to try somewhere other than the precinct.

    Even though two of us were celebrating birthdays which was noted on the reservation, no recognition was made. Also I thought it was odd no comment card was included with the check. This was the first time eating at a Ruby restaurant that a comment card was omitted.

    Both my husband’s meal and my meal were truly one of the best meals, from start to finish, we’ve ever had. The Wagyu Meatball was incredible. They split a wedge salad for us and it was also one of the best I’ve had. We both had filets and my husband got a lobster tail. Then finished with carrot cake. Every single bite was perfect!!
