The best food and service. A really special experience and you will not find better Empanadas anywhere.
Excellent atmosphere, service, and food. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.
The meal was delicious and well presented. The empanadas were the greatest disappointment. We shared a salad and a top quality steak. Dessert was awesome. It was very difficult to have any type of conversation due to the noise level of tables too close to us.
Great experience all around from the wait staff to the food. Our meal was delicious.
This is an extraordinary restaurant in several ways. Their interpretations, and executions, of all the Argentine cuisine are true to tradition as well as contemporary cooking techniques. Their service is attentive without ever being intrusive. Their Maitre D’ was gracious and patience in explaining wine insights to my young guests, as well as bringing fantastic by-the-glass selections for me to pic from.
Wonderful food, a bit spotty on service, but very nice place-will be back
New York steak was below usual quality, too much fat, I felt cheated. I advise others to check the steak out thoroughly before eating it and request a new one if there is too much fat.
Wonderful atmosphere and food. Had not been for awhile! Loved it. Alex was Incredible. Professional and a lovely gentleman! As well as the rest of the staff! Mona Lisa will be back! Alex will get that reference!😀
Delicious meals, good and very professional service, definitely we can visit again, the reason we give the restaurant 4 stars for value is because we see prices higher than we are usually accustomed. We are from Mission Viejo.
El restaurante sirve platillos de carne de gran calidad, pero es muy pequeño, y por los precios altos pensé que iba a tener una mejor decoración y ambiente.
Incredible food and great ambiance. Ordered a variety of items from the menu. All delicious.
Amazing dinner! Great selection of food and wine. Authentic Argentine touch with a wonderful low-key atmosphere. Will be back soon :)
Prices were very high
Food used to be better
Noise got worse after 8:30
Always excellent. One of the best restaurants in Los Angeles for 20+ years.
Excellent evening from start to finish. we were waited on by Max one of the owners and the sommelier. He did an outstanding job of making our evening thoroughly enjoyable. Food was very good, though the mussels were a tad overcooked and chewy. Loved the cozy feel of the restaurant. Will definitely visit again!
Dinner was a UCLA graduation celebration. Carlitos Gardel was everything I had hoped to have for my son. Service to perfection, friendly, attentive, unobtrusive. Excellent suggestions for wine and food and both were prepared exquisitely. Everyone from the teenage daughter to my 85-year-old parents loved their time here. Thank you for an evening we will remember fondly!
God the food was outstanding, the parrillada is divine.
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food.
A little expensive but worth it when treating yourself with loved ones.
As always .... a delicious meal with great service. Carlitos Gardel is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. It never disappoints !
The attendance and food are really good and I recommend this restaurant for meat lovers mainly. The only thing I would make different is the size of the combo with different types of meat, which is supposed to serve 2 people. This serves 4 easily. I would make it half the size and charge half the price.
The food was great and Malbec wine selection was superb.
My only regret was not being able to order more dishes! Everything was outstanding!
Carlitos Gardel Argentine Steakhouse was the perfect choice for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and the lighting was magical. Our server was charming and helpful as was the sommelier. We had a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary and our son’s 30th birthday and it was excellent! If we find ourselves back in LA we will definitely be planning a visit to the restaurant.
Reservation was a good idea the place is busy, we were given choice of seating.
This is the best steak house in LA, the meat is fresh and without the anti biotics,
Great as always, the recommendations, the meat, attention.
Yet another fabulous dinner. Complete from starters, salads, steaks (rib eye, skirt and lamb chops), sides, dessert, wine and service. Thanks CG!
Overpriced. Food was okay. Staff not very friendly.
Really nice ambiance, service was excellent. Definitely overpriced and I was expecting the food to be worth the price yet I was disappointed.
Great food and service. Not sure why we hadn’t been there before - will be going back.
Good food, start to finish. Service was great, courses spread out evenly, great wine.
By far our most favorite restaurant!!! Max, the resident sommelier, is such an asset. The New York steak was perfectly cooked, the endive salad was amazing, their gnocchi which we did not have this time, is the most wonderful things on this planet. Be certain to make a reservation because it fills up fast!
Can't wait to go back when I'm in LA again. Really good meats and wines. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. We had Lamb, which was not on the menu, Tapa de Ojo, and a couple salads - perfecto!
Service is always wonderful and food never a disappointment. This is a gem of a place.
Max that runs the place is A+. Best meal I’ve had in years
Overall very good. Only issue was in the explanation of the dinner specials. waiter told us of the steak-for-two at 40. What was not said was this is a 40oz cut of meat, not $40. Spent much, much more than I would have had I known
A bit slow with the menus, but other than that, it was a great evening. Loved the grilled sweetbreads, though one onder was enough for two. My steak was done to perfection, was delectable, and large. The ribeye with chimmichurri looked wonderful and tasted that way. Dessert was a treat (one shared among three). Wine list was a bit on the expensive side. All told, it will be visited again.
Great restaurant but very expensive
Food was very good. Music was too loud, making conversation impossible.
My husband and I were very disappointed with this restaurant. The service was so snotty and rude! We mentioned we’d like a Malbec and the sommelier immediately recommended the most expensive bottle on the menu and pursed his lips in judgement when we chose something else.
The waiter closed his eyes and sighed on us when we ordered (I suppose distainful that we both ended up choosing something other than steak). They brought our mains halfway through our starters so that there wasn’t even enough room on our table for all the plates so we had to stack them. Then they took our mains away literally the second our forks and knives rested. Our entire meal took us less than 40 minutes.
The quality of the food was fine but we definitely would not go back for it, but the service was so terrible that we would actively stop people from trying it.
