Carlitos Gardel continues to be my go-to steakhouse for a special evening out. It's a cozy space and is classy without feeling stuffy. The food is consistently outstanding, and a great value for the portion and quality. My favorite cuts are the skirt steak and prime rib. And that chimichurri sauce is to die for. You can basically pair it with anything. The servers are warm and attentive. Definitely recommend!
It was perfect ! So good ! Is is not so easy to find this quality here ! The meat is so délicious, and in fact everythig is delicious, vegetables also . Brian was so sweet and nice and knows everything about the products , very helpful. I ll come back for sure.
Ive been wanting to check this place out for quite some time now and I finally had the oppurtunity to go. The service was great and the steaks were good but nothing out of this world. I would recommend this place for groups so you can try all the different type of meats they offer.
This restaurant has amazing service. Not only is their food delicious, but their service is quite impeccable. Our server's name was Brian and he was very knowledgeable on the food they served on the menu, as well as items that were not on the menu that day that were being served. His timing was also well-noted; he paid attention to our small necessities like needing more water poured or how close we were to finishing our meal so he can present us with dessert options. Our appetizer and entrees came out one after another on-time and we had an amazing dessert. The price was actually fair for the amount of food that was served, ended up with a $220 bill (including tip) for two with a whole lot of food left over for the next couple days! Thanks Carlitos, we'll be coming back for sure!
Excellent food from appetizers to main course - unfortunately we had other plans for birthday dessert. Sauteed shrimp appetizer was thoroughly enjoyed. Best pasta dishes I've had outside of Italy. NY sirloin was prepared perfectly, and mushroom/pepper sauce was spot on. A bit noisy for conversation, but food left us quite content.

by far, hands-down, the best steak in Los Angeles. I’ve gone to all the fancy expensive steak houses, and while this is not cheap it is not insane like some of the other places that are only half as good! The side dishes are orgasmic… Like the homemade mashed potatoes and the broccoli and chimichurri sauce. We had lamb chops and skirt steak, also there ribeye is to die. Literally the best place in town and wait to you taste the desert. And everybody who works there is adorable and sweet and amiable
Sensational family-owned Argentinian steakhouse, awesome all natural grass-fed steaks, ridiculous chimichurri sauce, great wine and beer selection, unreal homemade desserts, romantic ambiance... I don't know that I need to write more. One of the very best restaurants in a city full of great restaurants nowadays.
I liked that the restaurant was quiet and service was very good. The food was ok. Was it the best steak I had in town? No. Was it the best Argentine restaurant I've been to? Not even in top 10. I saw a few three figure Malbecs on their menu that I bought in Buenos Aires for under $50, so there's that. Otherwise, a pleasant environment and decent food even though a bit overpriced for what it is.
WOW. I don't know if it was because it was slower that night but the food was MIND BLOWING. The service from Max and Fabio was SPECTACULAR.
Me and Adam ate the bone-in rib-eye for two. It was seared to perfection on the outside and juicy and full of flavor on the inside. Max even cut it up for us and made sure we were happy with the steak. When he figured I didn't like how rare it was, he offered more than once to take it back and have it cooked for me a bit more. Seriously, my experience with beyond expectations. I hope the negative reviews are wrong so that when I go back next time, I will feel magical like the I did this time.

I've been coming to this restaurant for almost 20 years. The food is excellent. The owners are always there and they seem to take so much pride in their establishment. It's a step up from all the other Argentinean restaurants I've been to in Los Angeles. Great ambiance, impressive wine selection
The food was fantastic! But the Matre D' was the biggest jerk on the planet. This ruined our experience. The steaks are obviously the choicest cuts, and they're cooked to perfection. But this guy used every opportunity to be a total jerk to my wife and I, which ruined what would otherwise be a good meal. What good is tasty food without management with taste?
For a $$$ rated restaurant on Yelp, I expected the food to be of higher caliber. It felt like a "decent neighborhood local place" - but the price points for the food were much higher.
The steak that I had ordered was medium rare and it was rarer than that. Of course, it was hard to see that because the table was poorly lit. For a rib-eye, the steak was gristly and had a lot of connective tissue in too much of the steak. I've eaten a lot of $50+ steaks and this was not in the same category.
I'm sorry to not give this restaurant a better review, because I dine out a lot and was looking forward to something a little "different", like the Argentinian Steaks at this restaurant.
Always have the best steak at Carlito Gardels - The food was delicious. The service impeccable and the soft glowing lights and the great energy make this a great place to take a date or to have a special occasion. The meats are the best in town. Will always recommend this restaurant and I have been coming here since 88...
