Wonderful hospitality, food and wine
one of the best dining experiences in the city. Great food, music and service.
Amazing experience! Our party of four was left raving about each of our individual meals.
The meal was good but the streak special was a little fatty and we had sticker shock when we got the bill and realized it was $140. The server hardly engaged with us throughout the night and then walked away after we asked a question about the bill. The hand written bill was illegible; it was almost like they purposely wanted to hide the amount of the special. Then the manager came up and said “what’s wrong guys?” and proceeded to act like a used car salesman as he tried to sell us on how our steak was such a good value. Then he tried to comp the dessert (a scoop of ice cream) which the server already didn’t charge us for because we were celebrating a birthday. He did ultimately knock $20 off the price but the night had already ended on a sour note. Won’t be going back to this place. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the restaurant had a funny smell that we both noticed right when we walked in. And it wasn’t the fishy nature of the manger that we also sensed right away upon his greeting. We should have followed our instincts and left before it was too late.
Food is amazing. Fantastic wine list. Service is great. No attitude, just great food, fantastic people and always great low key, elegant ambience
Always a fun evening. Authentic Argentine food, quality ingredients, cooked perfectly.
Steak was fantastic and service was awesome
I'll visit next time again!
food and service were terrific! A really enjoyable meal!
Great meat. Skirt steak was incredible. Garlic fries are special. Nice ambience and good service.
Amazing Entraña and Pollo Romanoff! Max made our night fantastic! Alex brought excellent wines. The food, service, ambiance were all top notch and just perfect.
Love this place so much!
Very good Argentinian food, super friendly staff, the owner himself welcomed us upon arrival.
My boys asked for milanesa, that was very good (although a little on the small side), with mashed potatoes. I had the gnocchi that were delicious and also a bug portion.
For desert we had two different cakes, both perfect!
The place is decorated with Tango motives, and also played Tango music.
We enjoyed our meal very much!
Had an incredible meal here on Saturday night. The entrana steak was one of the best steaks of my life. I would go back here just to eat that again and again. Everything was delicious!
mejor restaurante argentino en LA - best argentine restaurant in LA
The dishes we ordered varied from okay to good. The presentation was not impressive. The french fries, however, were spectacular -- rather ironically. Who would expect an Argentine restaurant to get highest marks for fries. The service was excellent. The ambiance nothing to write home about, but pleasant and the noise level was very good.
I loved the service everyone was very attentive and the food was delicious!
Love this restaurant :)
Not as special as it used to be. Service indifferent at best. Pushy with certain wines, no insights
Wonderful!!!
Outstanding as always!
The food was ok - nothing special. Felt there are better options in LA.
One of the most pleasant dinning rooms in LA. Feel like you are in an elegant local restaurant in some European city. Wine list excellent with great direction by the owner. Make sure you try the grilled lamb chops. Absolutely first rate.
A bit expensive, but worth it. The food and drink (wine) were both excellent. Good professional service. The restaurant is on the small side, but elegant . The noise level is moderate and amenable to conversation
Fanatasfic food and service!
Pre-concert dinner
This is a fantastic place! Had lunch there on Friday, the only time they’re open for daytime service. Can’t wait to go back!
The service was impeccable and the food amazing!
Great, and unusual, steak house, fairly dressy for Melrose. Great and attentive service.
The service was superb. Food was excellent. I definitely recommend it
Amazing as always!!!
Excellent dinner and service
Had a wonderful steak dinner for my birthday. Had to wait about 20mins for our reserved table. Good quality of beef but still on the smaller side.
Great place for steaks! will definitely come back for more (if I have the money)
Carlitos Gardel was a pleasant surprise; we were looking for somewhere new to celebrate my husband's birthday. I'm not sure how we missed this gem...the ambiance is warm, inviting, sophisticated and dare I say, romantic!?
The service was impeccable, food was delicious and dessert was decadent (we had the Dulce de Leche cake with chocolate fudge filling and meringue top). Wine list was impressive but mark-up is extreme ($190 for a $60 bottle).
We look forward to our return...
The entire experience was amazing. First time to the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely recommend!!!
Our expectations were high and they completely surpassed them. Everything was amazing! Food and service both. Empanadas (spinach cheese, and chicken), chirzo (omg), lamb chops (hell yes), prime rib cap (yes yes yes), skirt steak (f yeah), and now I'm waiting for some chocolate walnut cake with homemade ice cream (vanilla and dulce de leche w chocolate bits). And, if you missed that, this place is so good that I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for more food!! Don't wait. Go now.
It was our anniversary and everything and I mean everything was made perfectly. We loved the specials including the spinach and pea soup and the incredible lamb chops. We also enjoyed the classic steak. Thank you for a beautiful night.
Lovely quaint restaurant in the midst of WeHo/Beverly Hills craziness. Ambience is really nice, there is a really good vibe/warmth in this restaurant and the age group is absolutely mixed. Service was extremely attentive and the food was also excellent. No matter what the occasion, this would be a perfect place to go. I had the blood sausage with the salad and a side of mashed potatoes. I have had blood sausage in Argentina as well as locally and this one was a lot more 'runny' than I have previously had. I would prefer a little more conjealed. M y mashed potatoes were delicious and my companion (who ordered the fillet steak) was ecstatic with her meal. I will not have to think twice about going back to this restaurant..I am just waiting for an opportunity to go back.
I s was revered to this restaurant by a good friend of mine, so I thought I would give it a try. Well, it was awesome and I can’t wait to go back. The food, especially the skirt steak, is outstanding. The portions are very large, so I would suggest that people think about sharing items. Plus, by sharing, you can try more items and u will be happy that you did.
The service is great. Our server was Gerard and he is one of the owners and just a very warm and friendly guy. I was truly impressed by their wine list, as it offered up not only a good selection of CA, Italian and French wines, but a great selection of Argentine wines - and reasonably priced.
Our experience was awesome and I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or a local. It’s family run and truly gives you a great experience!
I've been coming here for 6-7 years and have never been disappointed. Always excellent food and wonderful service. Not a place for vegetarians--the speciality is beef, prepared Argentine style, and this is the closest restaurant to the steak places I visited when I was in Buenos Aires. I plan on returning soon.
We had a wonderful evening.
