Located in an old wine bar building, Carino Japanese Bistro is a Japanese restaurant that serves Italian-Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is popular for its ramen served at lunch. It has an inmate dining area with east facing windows covered with drapes to provide a warm ambience and its ceiling is decorated with pressed-in tin designs. Carino Japanese Bistro offers a boutique and bar seating.
Along with a lunch and dinner menu, Carino Japanese Bistro offers a secret ramen lunch menu. Food items on the menus include soups, omelettes, waffles, pizza, pasta and risotto. Some of its popular dishes include quinoa waffles, teriyaki wagyu beef burger and the duck gnocchi. Carino Japanese Bistro was named as the 6th best ‘New Restaurant' in Air Canada's Magazine in 2013 for its food.
Food was delicious for sure, but we choose the restaurant based on their menu seen online...when we arrived we were told they changed the menu to a summer menu. Again still delicious but a bit disappointed I didn't get to try what I had my heart set on.
Tasty interesting food, will definitely go back to try other dishes. Excellent poke, ramen, and we had that evenings specials - chicken cutlets and duck - which were very good
Carino is a hidden gem. Such a beautiful restaurant. Carefully restored. Beautiful food. Unique and inventive.
We have been to Carino several times and it is consistently an excellent experience. The menu is innovative, made with unique, quality ingredients, and always executed brilliantly. Thanks for being so awesome!
Carino's has lots of great food on the menu. I love the Poke Nachos, with tuna. In fact I have never had a bad meal there. But once I had the Wagu beef burger on a rice bun, I realized I'll never have anything else there . . . Oh maybe some appetizers. The service is friendly and fantastic.
We always enjoy the food at this restaurant. The tastes are so interesting, yet subtle. The mozzarella agedashi appetizer was wonderful. We didn't know what to expect, but both of us loved the flavours. Service was very friendly and attentive.
Invited friends and they couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the duck. Fantastic, fresh fusion food that will make you wonder why you don't go more often.
We had a fantastic meal here, and love the Bridgeland location . Will definately be back.
I feel that a large portion of the price I paid goes into rent. It's a good neighborhood and the restaurant has good ambience. However, the food portion is very small for the price. The ramen has very little soup and very salty. I feel like it's not homemade noodles but instant frozen ramen from the Nissin brand... Quite disappointed...
This is a great spot; they make food interesting and unique. Staff is so friendly and helpfull, they are there when you need something and very accomodating . Food quality is first class and best of all - they have corkage! Never mind that on Tuesdays there is no charge - that is not the point; the point is they get it; that you may have something you wish to try from your cellar! The fact that they recognise this as a key ingredient to good dining, deserves our patronage.
[ If you are a true food and wine lover]. Give this destination a try; its much more interesting than the 4St.SW; location, as that caters to the "see and be seen crowd" of 4th street. That locations menu is less imaginative; hence less interesting .
