Carinis la conca d'oro
thin-sliced deep fried breaded eggplant layered with tomato sauce and cheese
breaded chicken with tomato sauce and mozzarella on hoagie
Great atmosphere, the food had a good flavor, I would definitely go back. Love the fact that the owner actually comes around and talks to the guests and wants to hear your honest feedback about your experience.
This was such a pleasant surprise. Celebrating their 25th year with very good, very traditional food that does not overwhelm its goodness by trying too hard. Wonderful antipasti appetizer, wonderful vodka sauce pasta, wonderful clam pasta, wonderful cassata cake and capucino. We will be back and bring friends and family.
Staff was so friendly and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back 🤗
I have a very picky Italian husband who is very hard to please with Italian food, and he thought it was delicious. The pizza was outstanding and he had the Shrimp Pomedoro (I'm not looking at the menu, excuse the spelling if incorrect), I had the steak. The olive oil was delicious we took a bottle home with us. Our server Lisa was fantastic and was just lovely. We went for an anniversary dinner, and while the ambience wasn't the greatest for a romantic dinner, the food more then made up for it and we will be back, but will bring the kids next time.
The food and service was outstanding as always.
Our party was going to a play downtown. We didn’t have the usual time we like to spend at the table. Our waitress understood the situation and made sure we were able to make the time constraints.
I hadn't been out for old school Italian in years, and was looking forward to it. Carini's exceeded my expectations - the menu sticks with comfortable favorites but has a few surprises. Quality was excellent and desserts are homemade. The service was outstanding but kept things casual. It's just a really nice East Side neighborhood restaurant.
Food was amazing. Didn’t have to wait for our reservation and staff was very friendly. Hidden gem when all of the other restaurants had zero tables available. Highly recommend and will be back!!
I love the lamb chops at Carini's, however, last night it took a really long time to get our meals. When the lamb chops came, they were overcooked (which has never happened before). They are $40 for a full rack, so not inexpensive. I did not send back, felt bad and it took an unusually long time to receive dinner. I recommend this restaurant and the chops, last night must have just been an off night or the chops sat too long under the lights.
Great ambiance, food and our service was wonderful! Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed the restaurant- pizza is more traditional compared with the Milwaukee rust. Eggplant parm was very good with a huge portion. Denise, our server, could not have been nicer and attentive. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the ambiance which is totally a family dining experience.
As always dinner was a culinary delight! We will continue to return!
We both enjoyed our food and experience at Carini's. We shared the egg plant appetizer. The eggplant and the sauce were very tasty. I had the vegetable soup and it was just as good! My husband had the chicken parmesan and said that was good and I had the Sicilian steak and it was so tender, it melted in your mouth and the taste was excellent as well. They were instantly willing to allow us to switch out the pasta with marinara for pasta with olive oil and garlic and we both enjoyed that too. And the dipping sauce for the bread was a nice touch and good taste as well. We had excellent friendly cheerful service and the food was excellent. We would definitely return.
An outstanding neighborhood Italian restaurant that has been there for over 20 years. Great food, great service, and very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit!
Wonderful family run Italian restaurant. It is not very often when the owner of the business, and chef, comes out to meet his patrons. Excellent food and great friendly atmosphere. We will return!
Food was great. Service was excellent and very attentive.
The veal Parmesan is the best in Milwaukee!!
Great homey atmosphere with lots of families and couples. Lisa was a fabulous server. Great pasta and wine . Loved Tiramisu!
Great to be back. Food is still very good. A few changes like a la carte salads but still a good value
The woman at the door was very nice and told us everything about the place, and Santo our server was very attentive and quick and helpful as well, huge portions well worth the price
The service was excellent. The food was excellent…. one of the best Italian seafood restaurants in Milwaukee. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Always a great experience.
Family owned and operated, love it!!!!
Our dishes included antipasto, one side salad, lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, chicken parm, cassata cake and limoncello cheesecake. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Hostess and waitress were very friendly.
Chicken marsala was not as good as I remembered. We had to ask for the good bread and seasoned olive oil for dipping. Limocello cheesecake was delicious. Short staffed like most places, but they did their best.
We go to Milwaukee at least once or twice a year.
When first arriving and seated, we did notice the menu given to us wAs a little different from the menu that was posted on Open Table. A bit pricier and less variety.
However, we had no trouble finding something for each of the two of us to eat.
First, I ordered there house Cabernet, which was smooth and very delicious. I really enjoyed it. In fact I had two glasses.
Then, they gave us some complimentary bread and a very delicious thick olive oil with fresh garlic and parsley and some Parmesan. The olive oil was so tasty, I ate more bread than I intended to.
We both had the house salad before our entree and the homemade Italian vinaigrette was to die for.
Then, we both had the Chicken Marsala, mine with garlic mashed potato and my friend had the ziti with marinara sauce. The chicken Marsala was delicious. It had plenty of mushrooms and came in a butter Marsala sauce that was both tasty and plentiful.
The mashed potatoes were good, but, I think since I had so much of that garlic olive oil mixture, I couldn’t taste the garlic in the mashed potatoes. So, I’m not sure about that? My friend said his pasta was tasty as well.
The dessert menu looked good with many desserts to choose from. We didn’t have dessert though.
Next time we are in Milwaukee we will definitely be back. You can tell that the locals enjoy this place, as you can see lots of neighborhood people dining there. They also have a very nice patio outside in the front of the building. The air conditioning felt just right inside and made for a very comfortable atmosphere.
The kitchen was very slow. We planned for an hour and fifteen minutes but could have used an extra twenty because it took so long for the dinner to come out. As a local neighborhood hangout, it’s perfect: great comfort food, friendly staff, and a pleasant but unpretentious atmosphere with a relaxing pace. It’s not really worth coming in from out of town, however. And the online menus are out of date; they no longer serve ravioli.
Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was fantastic, all of our pastas were amazing and the dessert was amazing as well. The waitress, Lisa, was a sweetheart, and the owner even came out to our table to speak to us and thank us for coming. Amazing, unique, and enjoyable Italian restaurant. Can’t wait to bring many more people here to have a great experience, too!
Our waiter was fantastic. So was the food. Ate there two weeks in a row
Great food and service. Owner stopped by to check in on us and ensure everything was to our liking. We enjoyed
Our server Allison was fantastic and so was the food.
Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was very quiet. It was pricey, but the food was great and well worth it .
Fantastic food and atmosphere. The owner pete was a pleasure. My wife and daughter had a wonderful time as well. The food was by far the best Italian I have had in Milwaukee ever. Looking forward to the next time we go.
I’m convinced terr is no better Italian food anywhere in Milwaukee
Great food and wine.
Bread that was extra was stale and not warm. Then came the prestressed salads we saw waitress pull from fridge where over dressed. Salmon was over cooked and dry . Veal was only good point.
I went to Carini's alone on a cold winter Thursday night in the midst of the pandemic. Although Carini's seemed to be doing a good take-out business, the dining room was nearly empty and I felt safe as houses there. I ordered a glass of red wine, a lovely pizza with cheese, onions, prosciutto, mushrooms, and eggplant, a dish of spumoni, and an espresso -- a perfect neighborhood-Italian-restaurant meal for a snowy night. All the staff members were masked, and the restaurant was scrupulous about pandemic restrictions. Everyone was friendly and solicitous and I was perfectly comfortable dining alone. lA lovely, cozy neighborhood restaurant, with the best Neopolitan pizzas in town!
