   I sent my son who has autism for his first time being out on his own. He was with his date for Prom and were having dinner first. It was a great experience and he loved it! Our relatives are close friends with the owners and I'm happy to still see the restaurant thriving and doing well. #RIPJOHNCARINI

   The calamari appetizer was excellent, lightly breaded and served hot with a side of marinara sauce. The shrimp tortellini was delightful with the light cream sauce, plenty of shrimp and Cremini mushrooms. The spinach salad was also amazing with a very large piece of salmon on top. Will definitely be going back!

   What a gem of a restaurant- we had a fabulous meal at Carina la vinca d’oro! So authentic (it helped that a huge group of Italians were having a get together in the Porticello there) and homey. Two of our party had the wood fired pizza- fantastic crust and flavors (the homemade Italian sausage is YUM. The pasta ( I had the puttanesca) was YUM with a perfect savory blend of garlic, tomatoes, and white wine sauce - I’m hungry just writing about it. The Arancini appetizer was delicious. Be sure to leave room for the homemade cheesecake. It’s limoncello on the menu but our night it was a light citrus and blood orange glaze. It was probably one of the best cheesecakes we have ever had. We enjoyed great service from Lisa “Chardonnay”- what a great server! She was friendly, efficient, attentive, and personable- we felt like we made a friend. We kept mentioning all night about what a great meal we had. We will definitely be back!

   Wonderful service. Forget her name but our server was a professional. Food is ALWAYS great. Peter cooked chicken speidini for us. Was not on the menu! He also came out to see how everything was. Have never had a bad meal there. Highly recommend. Tell your friends too.

    Great service and meal. We didn't like the first table we were at (made reservations earlier in the day), and it was no problem. The chef came out to check on our food - it was excellent quality and taste. Will definitely return!

    Went there with some girlfriends for a girls weekend Birthday dinner. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection, but we just felt pricing was a little off for what we received. The owner is friendly and welcoming. He welcomed us in and made suggestions for appetizers and entrees and we followed his suggestions. The eggplant parmigiana was delicious and perfectly prepared. Some of the best we ever had! The shrimp Scallopini was creamy and rich and so good! While the food was very good, we felt portions were skimpy and we felt the food was overpriced for what was served. They charged $19 for a scant serving appetizer of calamari. Not enough for the table to share and really expensive. $10 for a salad plate of lettuce with a couple of croutons (no veggies) was equally exorbitant. While the Entrée serving amount was just enough, there was in no way enough to take any home for leftovers. Overall, while we had a delicious meal, the cost vs neighborhood/distance from downtown Milwaukee and overall value was just ok.

    Went for an early Valentine's dinner. The place was packed, but not too noisy. We ordered a pasta dish, and a pizza which we shared. Both were delicious. It was a white pizza that had a cheese flavor I can't recall ever having before - very good! For dessert we split the lava cake which was fantastic. The meal was more on the pricey side but again, the food was awesome and it was an enjoyable experience. Worth it and will be going back.

    Fantastic experience. The arancini was light and full of flavor. Even though they were busy, the chef made veal parmesan, which isn'ton the menu. Shrimp tortellini was the perfect portion and had an amazing cream sauce. We split a chocolate cannoli and a piece of cassata to end our great meal.

    We sat in the front of the house as it was well lite. Only 3 small tables so it was cozy. Food was great!! Flavors were exceptional! The owner came to our table which was so nice as it was my mom’s 88th birthday, both full blooded Sicilians! Our server Abbey was very tentative to what we needed and made the experience great!!     We were looking forward to pizza but found out they weren’t serving on New Years Eve. The pasta was flavorful and overall good but way overpriced. $30 for a pasta dish with some chicken?? Service was good.

    Eaton provided great service and helpful advice. We like the cozy ambience and plenty of variety on the menu. Nice touch that the chef came out to check on us and other tables. We have enjoyed Carini’s for many years and will definitely return.
