Absolutely outstanding food and cocktails. One of the best meals and dirty martinis we’ve ever had. Love!
Incredible spaghetti and meatballs. If you grew up eating Italian food with your Italian family, this place will not disappoint. The owner is quite friendly, too, and stopped by the table to chat without being at all invasive. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place for a laid back dining experience.
My wife and I enjoyed a quiet Sunday evening Italian dinner. I thought my spinach pasta with shrimp and scallops with a delicious sauce was outstanding. My wife had lasagna which she thought was just average. It had a heavy tomato sauce over the top which she thought was overpowering. A homemade lemon cheese torte for dessert was a highlight. The menu offers a wide array of authentic Italian dishes. The service was friendly and relaxed. It is not a place to dine in a hurray.
The location was very busy, always a good sign. All employees connected with this visit were overly friendly and accommodating. Although the food was very good the pizza was not my favorite type. Don’t let that stop you! I would recommend to all
Food and service was excellent.
The bathrooms need updating.
Our favorite authentic Italian place on the east side. Always our top pick for date night. Half price bottles of wine on Sunday, can’t beat this place. Pizza is out of this world.
I went here for an early Valentine's day dinner hoping to try their wood-fired pizza which won 1st place in the "Best of Milwaukee" 2017. Overall the food tasted fresh and not pre-made or like it was previously frozen. Except the pizza was just bland. I was not impressed. I usually don't judge a restaurant by its decor or ambiance but this place should invest a little money in their interior design, its just tacky in my opinion.
Delightful & scrumptious! Serenity met our every need, was prompt, courteous, and welcoming. Met the owner as well. The veal marsala was extraordinary! Great wine list, too. We were treated to tiramisu since it was a B'Day celebration. That was unexpected and very kind.
Only downside is finding parking in the middle of winter on the east side. Oh well :))
Consistently excellent service every time I have visited! Delicious food, pleasant staff, nice ambience. Our server this weekend (Happy) was the best!! Can't wait to go back. Definitely check this restaurant out!
this is not the first time we go here....we went for my 83rd birthday along with my two children (46 and 42). great food and good wine.
Reliably good food. Attractive decor. Pleasant staff.
Carini's is a family-owned, neighborhood restaurant with fabulous Scilian food that draws people from all over the city. Food is cooked to order, and don't be surprised if the chef comes out to say hello.
Excellent food! Authentic Italian food! Casual atmosphere!
After reading several reviews of this restaurant, I had high expectations and was eager to try it. The place was homey, and obviously a gathering place for locals. The highlight of the evening was the service which was excellent. The food, however, was a disappointment. Everything was too garlicky, even dishes that were not advertised to be so. I ordered the scampano. The pasta was dry and without oil, butter or sauce, and the 2 shrimp were over-cooked and very tough.
Originally from Chicago, where there is a large Italian presence, we are used to great and authentic Italian food. This experience was less than optimal.
very busy on a Saturday night but Open Table got us a reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes of expected. had pizza for first time and crust was perfect (chewy without being undercooked and sauce and toppings great. I like a little more sauce out to the edges but my 2 companions loved it as is. server was polite though rushed and took time to joke and greet with us. another great experience!
This was our first time there. Every course was delicious! We will definitely be back.
Awesome , great Marsala and best Spumoni
Our Saturday night dinner with friends (another couple) was enjoyable. The 5:30 atmosphere was cozy but not crowded as the restaurant filled quickly. (There was one party of 16, so this may not have been a typical weekend night. I was able to request that my olive oil and garlic sauce be prepared 'easy on the salt', recommended by my doctor since I am recovering from a minor heart attack -since most marinara and alfredo sauces are prepared in advance. Our young waitress was very pleasant and accommodating . Portions were large enough for three of us to take half our entrees home. Prices were moderately high, but the food was high quality and service excellent.
Felt a little rushed. My veal Parmesan was very good. My husbands pasta was just ok. The waiter kept asking us to order.
I was recommended to try this restaurant from an Italian coworker. The olive oil with the bread and the salad to start were great, but we were a little disappointed with our entrees. I was served veal, which I did not order, but the server insisted it was correct. I barely ate any of my entree. My boyfriend enjoyed his dish, but it was a little expensive for how much food you got. We will give it another try and maybe stick with a basic pasta dish and some pizza.
Outstanding as usual. We have never been disappointed at Carini's, no matter what we have selected.
Went for casual dinner with two young adult kids. Food, ambiance and service was enjoyed by all. Price was good. Would definitely go again.
All but daily fish special were outstanding.
This was not our 1st time here. It was very good as usual and our waiter Leo was very pleasant.
Having just moved here a couple months ago, this is. E best Italian I have had in a very very long time. And our server was awesome!!
You can always count on Carini's for delicious Sicilian food. Never had a less than delicious meal here.
This was my third visit to Carinas and each time I have been very pleased. I think your chef peter salad is world class...
EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN THERE THE OWNER GREETS THE DINERS DURING THE MEAL. WINE SPECIALS ON SUDAYS.
Authentic Sicilian food
Scampi was delicious
I usually love this restaurant, but was very disappointed with my order tonight. A dish that I have ordered often, in many other places, was spicy and there was no indication on the menu that it would be. Pomodora (judging by its ingredients) is not spicy. If you are going to make it spicy, warn the customer. I realize there is a trend today to throw spice on everything, but some people can't eat it. After one bite, I didn't taste anything. I just had a mouth that hurt.
As always wounderful dinning experience! Food was great, service was wonderful... night was magical!!
Always excellent. Great family meal home-cooking tastes. Fresh. Salzman and rissoto excellent. Wines are a great value. A favorite place to eat.
Superb service and the food was delicious
Great food, friendly atmosphere, have recommended this restaurant before. Have always had a good meal.
NOT our first time here...Carini's food is delicious, almost too much to eat (that's why we took the rest with us.
Food is great; waiter was very friendly and we were treated fabulously.
Great food! Authentic Italian food. Very good Italian wines. Great service.
Very much closed quarters and difficult to move around in the back room. A large party helped to raise the noise level, making it difficult to hear. Our waitress was present, albeit too much, and interrupted our conversation on many occasions. She also had a habit of saying "my dear" to each one of us, which was not appreciated. The food was good; our group had a pizza, lamb, salmon and chicken. But due to service issues, would not make another visit.
While we were seated promptly, our table was near the door. I asked for a different table and was denied. We were a party of two, seated at a table for 3, and were told that the had too many reservations for 4. So we seated, and every time the door opened we were blasted by cold air, and it is not even that cold out yet. But the real problem was that we had no further contact from the staff after being seated. After 15 minutes, I told my wife to get her coat we are leaving, and we left. I will never go there again. Absolutely terrible service. People who were seated near us, after we were seated, had service, but not us. This was to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had invited another couple to join us but fortunately they were unable to. Too bad because have eaten there several times before and the food is good. This service snafu is unforgivable, there are plenty of other great Italian restaurants in Milwaukee that provides great service.
The waiter had a great sense of humor and the pizza and salmon special were outstanding.
We'll go back next time we're in Milwaukee for theatre.
