Carinis la conca d'oro
For a great Sicilian/Italian dining experience, I would suggest Carini's. Make sure you go a little early to find a place to park, otherwise you will need to find a municipal lot and walk.
The food and service was absolutely exceptional! I would definitely recommend to anyone. The dress and atmosphere was casual, good for a family night out.
Food was very good but service was slow
Very good food. Good friendly service. Nice place. I’ve been driving past this place for years. Glad I finally stoped in.
We were in a small side room that defently had too many tables for such a small space and made the noise bounce around. The food was cooked well but seemed a bit under seasoned, the antipasta plater was amazing though. Server was good but rushed us through. Over all ok and would give it another shot
We booked reservations last minute on a Fri. night....got in, attentive waite staff, food was out standing and came fairly quickly. Even though they had 2 very large parties seated just before us.
Love Carini’s!!! The food is to die for and the family will make you feel like, well, family! Grab a drink at the bar before dinner to enjoy the best drinks and bartender you’ll find. Everything on the menu is fantastic, but our favorites are the mussels appetizer and la conca d’oro - they sub gluten free pasta for me for an allergy. It’s out of this world. The chef is always out and about checking in on everyone. Hands down most delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent eggplant parmigiana- great wine — great service. No complaints! A wonderful tarimisu for my husbands birthday dessert!
This has been a go-to place for us for years. We live in a suburb north of Milwaukee so we have other excellent choices for dining out. But it’s often here that we choose. The last two times we visited we got seated on the “pizza side”. For us that affects how our overall experience is processed. For our most recent visit (my birthday) it wrecked the meal to be seated here.It is often loud, has screaming kids and the distraction of watching someone make pizzas. That’s fine if you are out for pizza. We go to dine. Request the dining side if you want a nice, peaceful meal. Food is always good.
The overall experience was outstanding from beginning to end. The food was over the TOP great...
Received a gift card for Christmas. My mom and I went this weekend before a Bucks game and it was nothing short of wonderful. The food was fantastic; the staff was helpful, friendly and fun; the owner/chef was very concerned about us liking the food and making sure everything was just as we wanted it. It was a fantastic experience which we plan on duplicating again before another Bucks game. Can not recommend highly enough.
Service was excellent - server and owner took great care to ensure our food was exactly what we wanted.
Very good food made with fresh ingredients. Friendly, family service. Always look forward to eating at Carinis.
Another great dining experience!
Great neighborhood family Italian. No pretense, just good food and good service at a great price. Highly recommend.
The seafood here is always so fresh. My favorite (Conca D'Ora?) includes clams, mussels, scallops, and shrimp with pasta and is so good. The staff is friendly and the service is attentive. If you're lucky, you can have their wonderful limoncello cheesecake for dessert. It's homemade, but sometimes they run out, so you might want to reserve a piece when you order your meal. You'll be glad you did!
The chef was fantastic, little long because they were down a person. Our waitress seemed a bit out of it or overwhelmed- it didn’t affect our tip but we had to make our concert. Food was absolutely divine. I’ve never had better shrimp and scallop scampi. Their seafood sells itself!
Wine menu was excellent. All Italian wines. Complimentary bread with a side of chopped garlic, herbs and oil was honestly the best table bread I've ever had as silly as it sounds. Ordered a caprese as an appetizer but it didn't arrive until after our entrees (beef spidini and seafood tortellini, both excellent), and the caprese was disappointing for one reason:our tomato had clearly been refrigerated for quite some time, and tasted like it may have been frozen at some point, plus it had taken on a particular fridgey taste. Everything else about the caprese was fine, but the tomato is the most essential part of the dish, and the best capreses I personally have had were made with room temperature tomatoes. We sent the dish back after a bite since it wasn't to our taste, and the server was accommodating enough to remove it from our bill. All in all, pleasant dining experience with mostly excellent food. Will be returning in the future to try pizzas.
Have not been in a while. Eggplant pasta excellent. Bolanese has change not a favorite. Bar martini was very good. Service very good every where
Excellent food and service. If you like red-sauce Italian food, this is the place.
Another nice dining experience!
As always Carini's is an excellent for a delicious dinner. A true Italian gem on the east side. Pastas and pizzas were excellent along with very good wine and wonderful service.
We have been driving by it for some time and finally decided to try it for my husband’s birthday.
The food and the service were amazing! Stefania, our waitress, was so sweet and Peter made us feel welcome once we walked through the door. We will definitely be back.
I like the place!!! I just wrote down that it was my Fiancée B’day and they didn’t say anything or offered deserts.
outstanding food at a reasonable price. will definitely be back.
appetizers were good but the lasagna was pretty weak. i like more cheese
Went to Carinis for dinner before a show in Milwaukee with friends. The service was good, and the ambiance was nice. However, the food was just standard tasting, nothing special. The prices for what we got also added up quickly (dinner for 2 was $100 with tip). When going to a nice Italian restaurant, I have no problem paying that much, but the restaurants I'm used to have much higher quality food.
Overall, I'd rate this place as "just okay."
Excellent service! Server very nice about moving us to a table in a quieter part of the restaurant. Very attentive through entire meal. Food is very good.
Food was very good. Service was extraordinarily slow, and wait staff had to be reminded about several items that didn't seem to come when anticipated. A couple things (a side of pasta and a second glass of wine) never got delivered so we eventually told them to "forget about it". My brother-in-law got a tomato-based sauce instead of a white sauce on his entree (he ultimately didn't mind as it was good, so ate it anyway). I thought our waiter was training someone who was shadowing him, but to be honest I'm not sure it wasn't the other way around, and she was observing him. Still, the food was good and maybe on a less busy time than on a Saturday night might service have been better.
As always, we had a very pleasant and delicious dinner. The food was very well-prepared, and the service was friendly and professional.
This was our first visit to Carinis and we loved it. The food and service (Stephen) was outstanding. Also, it was very nice that the owner/chef and his son both stopped by the table to introduce themselves. A wonderful family-run restaurant.
This is such a neighborhood gem. Peter and Jan are so friendly and they will sit and chat all night, sharing stories, asking questions, and cracking jokes. I don't know if it was an off night but we were not blown away by our Arancini or Veal Siciliano like we have in the past. The seafood though was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The marinara is worth the visit. Wine list is good and priced right. I will always come back.
We took advantage of some of the happy hour specials as well as normal menu entrees. In the end, we had an insane amount of food, for a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend the lasagna. Everything we had was great, but I thought the lasagna was exceptionally good.
We had the eggplant strips and they were great! We ordered the pizza because of the hype about the special oven. We also had the Caprese salad to share. The tomatoes were rather tasteless and hard, but this is August when tomatoes should be at their prime. These tomatoes are what you normally get in January. The pizza, too, was a disappointment. The crust was a bit burnt and the toppings were sparse and boring.
The food was good as always and exactly what we anticipated. And once again the wait staff was superb. Thanks!!
The best wood fired pizza in Milwaukee. Amazing Melenzane Fritte (fried eggplant strips) and calamari.
Amazing food and martinis. They make you feel like family!
My first time there and I'm definitely coming back
The food was great. Waitress and chef were more than willing to adjust our order to "just what we wanted." We will definitely go again, and hopefully, go more often!!
Love the fried eggplant (best in town) and pizza. One of these visits will be for other food.service is always excellent.
