Great food, awesome authentic pizza & pasta, and service was exceptional. Will definitely return. Hard to tell in the dim light, but it could use a little sprucing up…then again, we were not there for the Decour, and it was clean. This experience is more about the quality food and the company.
We had a wonderful experience! First time dining here, the food was absolutely delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals including appetizers and desserts. The owner of the restaurant also stopped by our table several times during our dinner to introduce himself and tell us about a few stories of the authentic Italian foods that are on the menu! We will be back and will recommend to family and friends
This was a graduation celebration and turned out perfect. The food was excellent
Absolutely delicious food. My family of 6 (4 kids, 10 and under) all loved their meals and my husband said the rack of lamb was the best he's ever had.
We waited almost two hours for our food. Although the hostess had an explanation when I sought her out, she didn't come to the table. Waitress was not particularly attentive and only stopped to apologize for the delay. Although we were told the drinks and dessert would be comped because of the wait, only one glass of wine and dessert were taken off the bill.
Honestly the food was okay but not worth the wait.
Amazing as always! San Pietro is my favorite dish. My husband ordered his chicken parmesan. One of our favorite places to eat!
This was the first time my friends and I tried this place. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Always a pleasure. The chef and staff are so accommodating and friendly. It's a cozy atmosphere and the food is superb. They are flexible with ordering and ingredients and there is something for everyone on the menu. Even half price bottles of wine on Sunday! Wish we could go every week but a little too expensive for that.
No table available when we arrived. Seated next to kitchen door. Hostess didn't care much. Good food and service.
Never disappointed with the food and service. One of our favorites.
Delightful and delicious. Mr Carini even stopped by the table. Ur food was delicious! Can’t wait t go back!
Not in our neighborhood...but a go to spot when we are looking for authentic Sicilian cuisine. Great seafood selections too! Haven't had a chance to try their pizza because the other items are so intriguing.
We had a reservation and were offered the option of sitting at the bar or going to our table immediately. We were seated immediately and had our drinks at the table. The waitress, Katie, was pleasant, efficient and knowledgable , The food was very good. The salads were fresh, the tomatoe soup home made, clamari light and tasty. We enjoyed Spagetti Bolognese, Pomodo Fresco (sauted tomatoes with garlic and wine sauce)and San Pietro (sauted shrimp.) The Lemoncello cheese cake was wonderful and shared among the three of us. The atmosphere was cheery with Italian singers featured on the background music. We will be back.
We had dinner at an empty bar as an alternate to no tables available at 7:30, It was perfect!
Very flexible menu and waitress was fantastic
Exceptional! I haven’t had an Italian meal that delicious since visiting Little Italy in NYC.
Wonderful food, delicious cocktails, and a fun family that welcomes you right in. This restaurant has become a new favorite.
Food was excellent as always.
We keep intending to try some of Carini's traditional Italian dishes (lasagna, etc) but enjoy the pizza so much that our focus is narrowed to that. It is distinctive because the crust is so amazing, with just cheese and sausage and onions. Egg plant strips, good Italian beer and wine round out an almost ideal meal.
Excellent Pizza - best in Milwaukee and better than any I've had in Chicago!
Carinis is a great restaurant! We're so glad that we tried it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing!
The food is very good for a neighborhood restaurant that has remained true to its roots. Our server and the entire staff were very friendly. We finished our meal by sharing a blended Grasshopper. Our server said the bartender uses 5 scoops of ice cream in each one. It was delicious!
Everything on the menu is great but my favorite is the lamb! Best in town. The owner makes rounds to tables to see how you enjoyed your meal.
Absolutely outstanding food and cocktails. One of the best meals and dirty martinis we’ve ever had. Love!
Incredible spaghetti and meatballs. If you grew up eating Italian food with your Italian family, this place will not disappoint. The owner is quite friendly, too, and stopped by the table to chat without being at all invasive. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place for a laid back dining experience.
My wife and I enjoyed a quiet Sunday evening Italian dinner. I thought my spinach pasta with shrimp and scallops with a delicious sauce was outstanding. My wife had lasagna which she thought was just average. It had a heavy tomato sauce over the top which she thought was overpowering. A homemade lemon cheese torte for dessert was a highlight. The menu offers a wide array of authentic Italian dishes. The service was friendly and relaxed. It is not a place to dine in a hurray.
The location was very busy, always a good sign. All employees connected with this visit were overly friendly and accommodating. Although the food was very good the pizza was not my favorite type. Don’t let that stop you! I would recommend to all
Food and service was excellent.
The bathrooms need updating.
Our favorite authentic Italian place on the east side. Always our top pick for date night. Half price bottles of wine on Sunday, can’t beat this place. Pizza is out of this world.
I went here for an early Valentine's day dinner hoping to try their wood-fired pizza which won 1st place in the "Best of Milwaukee" 2017. Overall the food tasted fresh and not pre-made or like it was previously frozen. Except the pizza was just bland. I was not impressed. I usually don't judge a restaurant by its decor or ambiance but this place should invest a little money in their interior design, its just tacky in my opinion.
Delightful & scrumptious! Serenity met our every need, was prompt, courteous, and welcoming. Met the owner as well. The veal marsala was extraordinary! Great wine list, too. We were treated to tiramisu since it was a B'Day celebration. That was unexpected and very kind.
Only downside is finding parking in the middle of winter on the east side. Oh well :))
Consistently excellent service every time I have visited! Delicious food, pleasant staff, nice ambience. Our server this weekend (Happy) was the best!! Can't wait to go back. Definitely check this restaurant out!
this is not the first time we go here....we went for my 83rd birthday along with my two children (46 and 42). great food and good wine.
Reliably good food. Attractive decor. Pleasant staff.
Carini's is a family-owned, neighborhood restaurant with fabulous Scilian food that draws people from all over the city. Food is cooked to order, and don't be surprised if the chef comes out to say hello.
Excellent food! Authentic Italian food! Casual atmosphere!
After reading several reviews of this restaurant, I had high expectations and was eager to try it. The place was homey, and obviously a gathering place for locals. The highlight of the evening was the service which was excellent. The food, however, was a disappointment. Everything was too garlicky, even dishes that were not advertised to be so. I ordered the scampano. The pasta was dry and without oil, butter or sauce, and the 2 shrimp were over-cooked and very tough.
Originally from Chicago, where there is a large Italian presence, we are used to great and authentic Italian food. This experience was less than optimal.
very busy on a Saturday night but Open Table got us a reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes of expected. had pizza for first time and crust was perfect (chewy without being undercooked and sauce and toppings great. I like a little more sauce out to the edges but my 2 companions loved it as is. server was polite though rushed and took time to joke and greet with us. another great experience!
This was our first time there. Every course was delicious! We will definitely be back.
