Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick. The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century in New York, where delicious, exceptionally well-prepared food was served in settings that were simultaneously elegant, comfortable and unpretentious. The food nods to that same history, but take its culinary cues from the great talents and techniques of the present and of the future. getting to the table was on time; service and food is very good.a big wine list but extremly expensive- took me 10 minutes to find a $ 95 pinot noir which wasn't very good... but overall a nice place to dine ..

The food is good, but the staff lets you know they are doing you a favor allowing them to come to their restaurant. The reservation situation is horrible. They only put a limited number of tables on Open Table. They obviously hold most of the tables for the "in crowd". They are inflexible with reservations and could care less

Our reservation was November 9th 2016 at 9:45 PM, we got there a bit early to see if they could accommodate us and they did. We've both been to the location in Vegas but It was our first time at this one in New York. We started off with the chopped salad which was very nice. Our second course was the Linguini with clams - this dish wasn't the best as it was quite salty and something I wouldn't order again. To top things off we got the veal parmigiana and an order of spicy rigatoni vodka, both were incredible and a must have!!Overall, I would most definitely recommend this place and will be returning when I visit NY next.

very hard to classify this restaurant one of the hardest tables in NY we reserved 6 wks in advance for a 5:45 Sunday meal! Ambiance is very old school Frank Sinatra recordings playing in the background a small place with close together tables no place for quiet romantic conversation here.... wine list extensive but expensive 3X list or more meatball antipasto excellent pastas are to die for service quite good and friendly
this was our second time here and we would probably return even though there are many more affordable and available establishments in NYC BUT this is Carbone and you have to go at least once

I ordered the hyped meatballs and vodka penne pasta. It was mediocre at best. Such a disappointment considering the hefty price tag.

I just found this place to be too gimmicky. There were several wines we ordered and all out of stock??
The food was just ok and Americanized Italian. We asked for Ceasar Salad, were told they were out of it and when we were walking out the door, the same waiter was making it at another table. The price was excessive for what we had.

Solid Italian food in the heart of the Villlage! The Rigatoni is phenomenal, as are the wine pairings. Service was friendly and prompt, appetizers were great also. Decor is fun, really takes you back to a different time. Definitely check it out.

Food was great. the main problem stemmed from the closeness of the tables. The waiters butt was constantly in our faces as he served the table next to us. Kind of kills the appetite.
