Carbonara Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
After a mishap where the owner confused me for the Uber driver (not sure what that was all about), the dining experience was awesome. The bartender, Mary, was very attentive, friendly and personable. The house Pinot noir was surprisingly really good and they have half price bottles on sundays and Wednesday’s ($13 a bottle!!). This was my second time here and the food again did not disappoint! I loved every little morsel of my capellini di fraviola. The pasta was really fresh and flavorful. My friend had the dish with salmon and that was perfect also. This is officially my go to spot for really good pasta and excellent service.
Our second visit was not as cozy and quiet, due to loud spoken woman sitting by us for an hour. Upon arrival, our table was ready, but we had to wait 20 minutes for our bread to be brought to the table. The grouper was very good, but a bit overpriced at $31. The waiter was exceptional. We will go back!
We made a reservation for New Year's Eve and the restaurant was about a third occupied when we arrived. We were seated with a menu and waited about 30 minutes - saw many of the staff standing around talking during this time but no one approached us. My husband finally asked someone if we could order a drink. Another 10 minutes later the bartender came over to see if we wanted to order. Then the maitre'd came by, apologizing for confusion in not assigning someone to wait on our table, promising that he "would take care of us" due to his mistake. In our experience, taking care of us in this situation would include comping all or part of the check but this did not happen. For the rest of our meal there were random people waiting on us so clearly no one was ever assigned to our table and we were presented with the full check for payment. Food was excellent but service extremely disappointing.
Good atmosphere with decent food. I liked my carbonara dish, but my husband did not like his lasagne. This place has a lot of potential, but the staff is not especially welcoming. The waiter was OK, not rude, but not very personal or enthusiatic. Friendly staff and good food keep us coming back to a restaurant. We keep looking for that local restaurant but can’t seem to find it.
Service a bit slow tonight, but it happens sometimes. We're frequent enough dinners to know this isn't the norm here. They were having some computer problems which probably threw everything off. Food was good and our waiter Link was vey pleasant and attentive.
Ordered a grouper fish dish that was very bad. Server was wonderful in immediately substituting a tried- and true shrimp and scallop cappellini entree which I had ordered on a prior occasion. Excellent service. Just ordered the wrong item. Other pasta entrees have all been very good in the past.
