Caravan King's Cross
What Insiders Are Saying
The Kings Cross branch of Aussie coffee shop and all-day restaurant is perfect for flat whites and laid-back brunches. It’s also good for groups.
The waitress was fantastic which made the whole experience even better ( food was superb)
Awesome service and great atmosphere
Good food but terrible at catering for gluten free (despite having rung before & being told almost everything could be done gluten free). There was I think two small plates and one big plate and that was it, ie no choice. A lack of understanding of gluten with some staff members too. Generally unhelpful and despite the only things I could have being nice, the stress prior to that totally ruined the enjoyment of the place. Wouldn’t go back or recommend it to anyone with any allergies.
Good food, great choice. Good atmosphere, lovely location.
bustling and noisy location ojn the beautiful granary square development
There weren't enough gluten free options on the menu, which was disappointing as tapas usually has many gluten free options. The waiter also forgot to bring a side we asked for and it was difficult to get anyone's attention. The chocolate delice was a very nice dessert.
Fantastic food! Cauliflower and tofu delicious.
Why is the all day menu not until 5 on weekends?
Food was great but our waitress rushed us for the entire time we were there.
Exceptional hospitality and service experience. From front of house to waiting staff. Fantastic; great job Caravan!! Keep it up. That coupled with the ambience and the quality of the restaurant made it a wonderful dining experience; yet again.
The food was innovative, modern and delicious! Lots of small plates meant we were able to try a range of dishes. The vegetarian options were very good. The atmosphere on a Friday night was energetic
Good interesting dishes, quite generous portions so you don't need more than 3 or 4 max if you are sharing small plates.
Good quick lunch service, decent value but quite noisy - no sound absorbing materials on walls or ceiling.
Food was good. Service was professional - but could have been friendlier & warmer.
Fabulous restaurant - great staff and divine food. Well worth a visit
We met up with friends when visiting London for a few days, none of us had been to Caravan before. We had 8-9 dishes from the small plates menu, plus some fries, between the 4 of us and we loved every dish, I especially liked the cod dumplings.
After a friend introduced me to this place for an early lunch last month I booked a table for six this evening. We had a family reunion and do not know each other well. Various different food requirements - two of the party were Pescatarian and one has difficulty with too much spice. The waiter guided our choice and we had various sharing plates and a couple of pizzas. Eclectic food I particularly liked the cod and sea bass but all was tasty and fresh. Desserts to die for, excellent tea and coffee.
Courteous and friendly service from the moment I phoned to say we were arriving late (not knowing London well, we got lost).
Looking forward to my next visit.
Friendly efficient service and tasty food portioned well. Would revisit and recommend.
Very friendly service and excellent food! Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Caravan King’s Cross!
Delicious and exciting food and friendly staff. Unfortunately there was a flood in the kitchen during our meal, but we were lucky to be the last people to receive food before they had to shut the kitchen. And we weren’t charged for our drinks or a pizza which was a very generous gesture. Thanks Caravan and hope the plumbing problem is now fixed!
Look forward to visiting you again.
Really friendly staff and really great value. Hoping to try brunch soon
Was a recommendation for me, and I certainly would recommend this restaurant to others.
Staff at Caravan were very attentive. Meals were prepared very quickly. It was quite noisy inside. Definitely recommend :)
Great place to have a reunion over a busy Christmas break - 4 boys and 3 adults noshed and chatted and shared and enjoyed great taste. Even though the place was heaving, the service was attentive and prompt.
Really enjoyed the food - everything delicious except for one slightly unexciting dish (cauliflower). Music rally loud and couldn't hear each other across the table when we first arrived; the space is not well acoustically attenuated so made first twenty minutes bit uncomfortable, although volume did drop a notch and it became more conducive. Excellent smoky mezcal sherry cocktail.
Lovely attentive staff. Goid food. Very pleasant experience. Even though we had to vacate our table after two hours, the waiting staff pointed us to the bar at the end of the room, where we could take our drinks and continue to chat.
Food was good, as where the staff, but could have done with a few more of them. We had to wait a while to be served and for drinks then food to arrive as it was quite busy.
Great environment but the food was poor, very poor. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut the toast! Seriously, we both had to.
The location is great, the decor chic industrial, the waiters are super smart, the ambiance is lively but relaxed (baby breast feeding at next table), and above all the food is superb. The roast cod fell apart as cod should, and tasted divine; the eastern spicy dishes had an extra level of subtlety that made them outstanding.
Food is delicious and inventive. Really bold interesting flavours and I would recommenced sharing as many plates as you can as there are some wonderful creations there! Even basics such as the cornbread were outstanding.
The only downside I would raise is I found the ambiance frenetic. The waiting staff are wonderful but they seemed understaffed and struggled to get around the busy bar area. There was lots of running around which doesn't really make you feel at ease. I think the management are trying to get too many people in and encouraging people to drink at the bar (which is too close to the eating area) just makes the place looked overcrowded.
Well worth visiting but try to go when not busy. It is well suited for couples or small groups rather than large groups as their policy is to bring food out 'when it is ready' which is fine - but in reality one member of our party only got their pizza after everyone else had finished their food which in any setting is not ideal. Again - part of the aesthetic but in this case it only added to the feeling of chaos.
Visited Caravan Kings Cross for a birthday meal with 7 friends. We arrived at 730 and thought we'd be kicked out at 930 - we were still there at 1115 - food was amazing, service was great - just the perfect night.
Food was fantastic, so was the service.
We wre recommended to order a few plates and share rather than each ordering individually... nice idea but it makes it awkward with the main dishes which are not 'tapas like', and I think are meant for individual ordering instead. Everything else was great, highly recommend.
Had a business lunch here and the staff were very helpful, not too in your face but attentive when you needed it. Very helpful when choosing food from the menu. Would definitely come back again.
Its the 3rd time we have been here and never every fails....I try something new each time and its always so fresh and delicious.....my fav brunch spot.
Some real potential here but I felt processed rather than welcomed - the staff are too busy on the whole to make any contact and the industrial scale effects the whole experience - some lovely food but of the 6 plates we ordered only two were really special.
Great atmosphere - delicious food - healthy and full of flavour
We had a table booked but I did think that the front of house staff could have been a bit more welcoming. There were 6 of us waiting at the bar for our table but there was no where that we stood where we weren’t in the way of waiting staff. However once we were seated, the food was delicious and arrived in good time. Great wine and a really lovely evening was had by all.
Lively buzzy atmosphere and great for a fun evening with friends.
Very nice place and very tasty food.
Wine could have been better, but its price was quite cheap, so overall value for money was not bad.
Overall really suggested for a casual evening
A definite recommendation... Brilliant food and amazing service meant an overall outstanding experience. The smaller plates are great for sharing - I would recommend this as it means that you get to try even more of the delicious food!
