Great service and food. Excellent location especially if you're planning a visit to Met Breuer, which is around the corner on Lexington.

The food was fine service was good but the waiters hovered around you maybe 14 of the staff standing around in the small dinning room. No privacy and made us feel very uncomfortable. The bar area was quint and the bartender was very good. Probably would not go back because of the hovering staff

This restaurant is fantastic, service is friendly and very nice. We had the special salad with citrus to start which was outstanding, the black spaghetti and the veal ravioli was also great, for dessert we had the panettone special and tiramisu, the best tiramisù I have ever had. Will come back!

service was very slow - we were among the first to arrive and the last to leave over 2 1/2 hours later. The waiter took drink orders for 3 of the 6 and then left the table. We paid for first class service and didn't get it.

Walking back to our Central Park Hotel, we passed Caravaggio and were intrigued. Having lived in Rome for seven years, I am always a bit wary of Italian restaurants, hoping for authenticity of the food. Caravaggio did not disappoint! The servers were 'proprio italiano' and the wine and menu attested to a good understanding of the cuisine and tastes of Italy. The perfume of truffles filled the restaurant and we were offered two dishes: one with white truffles and one with black. Both were superb! A Chianti Reserva was a good accompaniment. We were pampered with service and the specials were explained and offered clearly. The menu itself is appropriately extensive and a melange of gourmet sorbets was a perfect finish. Named for one of my favorite painters, Caravaggio, this restuarant is also refined, but sensual. I am anxious to return.

Impeccable service, attractive, quiet with all the senior citizens, expensive and totally tasteless food. Impossible to have so many specials upon an already big menu. not worth it.

Restaurant is comfortable and attractive. The quiet vibe makes conversation easy. Food is also very good. Our only cavil was the slightly inattentive service.

Every time we come to Manhattan, we eat here once. It is expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. The staff are very well informed about the dishes, The ingredients and how they are cooked.

A special restaurant in a good way.

This is an elegant restaurant with prices and atmosphere. We had a lovely time here and we both ordered the Stuffed zucchini blossoms to start which were fried and served on a tomato puree cut with cream. They were beautiful and crunchy but the ricotta stuffing need something to zip it up a little bit - it was like where was the punch? My date felt the same way about the linguini with clam sauce - not enough garlic! The waiters could not have been nicer, however, even though the specials took longer to recite than the menu. BUT I would return!

The restaurant was an impromptu choice - we were visiting the Met and looked up nearby restaurant choices ( there weren't many). We didn't expect to walk out $330 later for 2 people - having ordered 2 starters each. It is a VERY expensive place- especially the wine. Whilst the service was excellent, the customers were outnumbered by the wait staff- there really wasn't a fun buzz....it is probably a fine dining establishment for the quiet crowd. Having said that, the food and everything was good- but it was just way too expensive. If I am paying such prices, I'd be looking for views, ambiance, glamour and something a lot more edgy.

I can't recommend this restaurant as I would not go back. My dish, linguine with clam sauce was fine, but my two friends had the Chicken Milano which was very unappetizing, a pancake of flattened chicken without any garnish. We should have asked how it would be prepared and didn't, so perhaps it was partially our fault, but a restaurant of this is quality and price point should consider visual aesthetics. I asked for grated cheese for my pasta and the waiter
brought grated cheese which was most likely from a jar, and which had an aftertaste. Again, the pre fix of $38 for 2 courses indicates fresh grated cheese should be served.
Service was slow and not particularly attentive.

Great service, excellent menu specials, quiet ambiance, accommodated a party of 7 without any problems. I ordered a good wine that they had run out of and the sommelier substituted with an excellent small vintage Super Tuscan. Recommended for anyone that wants a good meal.
