Incredible experience. Amazing food and service. Gluten free pasta available too!
Excellent with a couple of reservations: main course swordfish Milanese arrived with center uncooked and had to be sent back for further treatment which took 5+ minutes. Staff good but never once refilled water glasses. Otherwise very fine lunch.
Delicious food...we will be back!
Fine dining at its best. Attentive service and delicious food.
Very poor service. They asked for my food order before they even brought the bottle of wine that I ordered
Always a nice dining experience. The pasta is always fresh and delicious!!
We had a lovely experience eating outside. The set up was great, and being on a side street, was quieter. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. The cocktails were made very well and the food was delicious.
It made my birthday extra special. Neither my friend nor I had informed anyone at the restaurant that it was my birthday but one of the staff members must have overheard my friend's greeting me with a happy birthday wish. Dessert arrived with a candle and a happy birthday message.
Doesn't get better than that.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. We ate inside which was just as pleasant as it was pre-pandemic.
Relaxed albeit attentive service, food couldn’t be beat and the cocktail was the best I’ve had in a very long time.
I never leave reviews and typically don’t have “favorites” but I cannot wait to dine there again.
This restaurant provided an experience that is beyond compare. The service and the food were excellent. I will go as often as I can
Caravaggio is not just a restaurant where you can grab a bite. It is an experience, where you can enjoy a real fresh Italian cuisine served by an amazing staff, professional and friendly.
If you want to live a real New York movie scene, it's the right place. Perfectly located between Fifth ave and Madison Ave and few steps from Central Park
Wonderful dinner at Caravaggio.
The food here is sophisticated and impeccable. As it faces 74th Street, the outdoor pavilion is quieter than those of restaurants on Madison. It is a very special place.
A wonderful option for Mother's day, everything was perfect, the food, the service, and the atmosphere.
The service was subpar, the menu overpriced
Not only one of the best Italian restaurants in the city, but one of the best overall dining experiences. Truly superb, imaginative food served by an excellent staff.
Wonderful Italian, just the way you want it to be.
Caravaggio was quite different than pre Covid. The food offering was average for a restaurant at Caravaggio”’s Proce lint. The staff was definitely not focused and w as inattentive.
The wine list was quite excellent.
Overall a mediocre performance at a very high price.
Met up with a good friend that I hadn’t seen since August because of Covid
This is one of the best Italian restaurants on the upper east side- maybe in all of NYC. It's only rival is Sistina, its sister restaurant only 8 blocks north. The extensive list of fabulous daily specials means you never have to look at the written menu. From beginning to end, the service is friendly and detail oriented, and the kitchen turns out a varied array of exquisite food, prepared with the utmost car. We go back quite often and everything is always of the highest quality. Thank god they made it through the pandemic.
Great service from a very knowledgeable staff.
Food was amazing , can’t wait to go back. Ate inside.
Fantastic food, but very pricey. Great outdoor tent
O!M!G! Only wish we discovered it right after it opened. It's right around the corner from a place that we occasionally use. Outside dining was wonderful except for a table of six who thought outside meant being loud in a way that they wouldn't have been if inside. But! Go for the food, service , etc. and you won't regret it...
First meal with close friends in over a year. For us a splendid return to a favorite restaurant. For them, serious foodies, an introduction to Caravaggio with a perfect meal outdoors on a delightful spring evening!!
Very good atmosphere. Delicious food. Nice and prompt service.
The grilled octopus was not good. It was watery. The lasagna was soggy, oily and salty, I had to send it back, and got mushroom ravioli that was a better dish. My husband’s arugula salad was soggy. We will not be going back.
Very lovely atmosphere plus excellent food and service.
Entrees were very good, great bread. Loved that you can have an enjoyable conversation at the table without leaning in or shouting. Nice table sizes. Service was not attentive.
Superb service. Wonderful experience.
Caravaggio consistently provides spectacular cuisine in a refined setting with attentive service especially with the captain and waiters (sometimes the service staff can be tone deaf to requests). Caravaggio is always a treat, albeit not a cheap one.
Deliciously desirable. Friends suggested Caravaggio and it was delightful. Happy to have experienced this lovely venue.
Caravaggio does not disappoint! It was our first time inside in a while and what an amazing experience we had. All of our food and drinks were outstanding, and the servers took very good care of us. The menu is extraordinary and there were so many wonderful specials. Biggest problem was making decisions on what to order, but it's impossible to make a bad choice. Highly recommend!
Everything was absolutely delicious
I little expensive but worth it
Delicious food and superb service
Excellent food and service. Cant wait to go back. Not cheap but worth the money
Large menu selection, plus daily special; great food & service
