Superb service. Wonderful experience.
Deliciously desirable. Friends suggested Caravaggio and it was delightful. Happy to have experienced this lovely venue.
Caravaggio does not disappoint! It was our first time inside in a while and what an amazing experience we had. All of our food and drinks were outstanding, and the servers took very good care of us. The menu is extraordinary and there were so many wonderful specials. Biggest problem was making decisions on what to order, but it's impossible to make a bad choice. Highly recommend!
Everything was absolutely delicious
I little expensive but worth it
Delicious food and superb service
Excellent food and service. Cant wait to go back. Not cheap but worth the money
Large menu selection, plus daily special; great food & service
Fabulous UES restaurant on the corner of Madison and 74th. They offer both inside and outside dining to suit either preference. Their service supreme. Their attention to detail second to none. An amazing menu with choices you will not find in your “average” Italian restaurant. If you are looking for a dining establishment that’s both pleasing to the eye and the tummy look no further.
We loved brunching at Caravaggio! The service was outstanding, very friendly and the food was incredible. The oysters were super fresh and clean and the seafood pasta and mushroom soup was heavenly. We cannot wait to come back, it was like a mini trip to Italy!
One of the best in town.
Great food and service
Next time carry more stella!
Every dish for 4 people was great. We had fettuccine with truffles and it was amazingl. The food is always this way. Restaurant is beautiful and well spaced and air is filtered against Covid.
Wonderful meal and staff was so attentive. Thank you
Caravaggio is our go-to for lunch when we visit the museums uptown. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass, and they have plenty of salads and antipasti and pastas suitable for vegetarians (lacto-ovo). The wait service is always amazingly pleasant and attentive. They have a lovely inside dining room. Two wines, two salads, one pasta split for two, a coffee and a tea was $140.00.
Chic interior coupled with excellent Italian food. A+
The food here is exceptional and cold foods are appropriately chilled and hot foods are served piping hot as one would do at home. The problem is that while friendly and knowledgeable, the service is painfully slow— even on a not-so-busy evening. We love this place; it’s one of just 3 restaurants we’ve been to in this entire pandemic year. If only the service would improve!
Beautiful restaurant, unfortunately they should not allow people with strollers in the main dining room. We were looking forward to a nice dinner on Friday night in NYC. However, there was a young very casually dressed couple in the main dining room with two very young and whining or screaming children. It ruined the atmosphere for everyone. We had a nice table but decided to move outside in the cold instead because the high pitched kid noise was intolerable. Selfish people and bad move by Carvaggio to allow other guests to suffer. Where are dress standards and manners anymore.
The food was excellent, as always. We opted for outdoor dining and the outdoor space was insufficiently heated. Overhead heaters were either too far from the table or not strong enough. We've eaten out all winter at other restaurants and have been quite cozy.
Superb Italian cuisine with very attentive service. Next best thing to eating in Italia
Went there for the soufflé, didn’t disappoint
Excellent food in a beautiful dining room. Wonderful service, too. A terrific experience.
Food is exquisite. Service wonderful. Best meal outside of Italy. Really special.
its no mean feat doing a great job in service, food preparation and presentation in the pandemic, especially in the heart of NYC , and Caravaggio did not disappoint!
The food and the service are always spectacular. I would not Sit outside in 36 degree weather but the food was not worth it. The bread basket is outrageous and the good is always innovative yet approachable abs not pretentious.
Great food. Interesting taste combinations. Great service. One caveat. The lamps for the side walk dining are not lit until 5pm, and it was quite cold
So ready for indoor dining with Caravaggio! My favorite restaurant. The service was wonderful the other night - we had a wonderful time.
Excellent food and nice location near the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other destinations. Current has a heated outdoor seating area and reservations were available. Wines by the glass average $20, but there is a nice selection also of cocktails around the same price. Salads were around the same average but were ample. Pasta was delicious. Many selections without meat are available.
Absolutely incredible experience! I live in Connecticut where we are still dining indoors for the most part. I was skeptical about dining in NYC, outdoors, in January. But I was so pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was still romantic and authentic feeling. There wasn't many people there so we were lucky enough to have heaters on both sides of us. We didn't even ask for that. It was just graciously offered to us. We were also offered blankets. It was so cozy that we even took our coats off! The servers were incredible. So knowledgeable and had the best accents. They checked on us routinely; we never found ourselves sitting around waiting on them. The food, drinks, and deserts were perfectly made. Perhaps the greatest dinner experience of my life. I have zero complaints. Bravo! I'll definitely be back and will recommend!
Impressed. We will come back.
The food and staff here are top notch. The nightly specials never disappoint. Big portion sizes dont be afraid to order an appetizer for dinner and definitely don't skip dessert! Yum, yum, yum!
Only a great restaurant manages to maintain a wonderful ambiance in the middle of the COVID lockdown. Caravaggio does everything with style and grace. Other restaurants struggle with serving food at the proper temperature and time in the meal when only outdoors dining is allowed. This restaurant staff’s professionalism and love of food is even more welcome now. The food is classic Italian; good ingredients prepared with care and accompanied with an indulgent bread basket.
What a delicious and idyllic way to end a generally challenging year. We loved our meal and despite the cold, we stayed warm thanks to the food and ambience.
We reserved a table under the canopy. They gave it to others so we sat on the side walk where the wind was blowing and even the heat lamps didn’t help warm us.
They did give us blankets and the food and service was lovely as always.
It was just too cold.
Always a great meal! Professional, courteous staff!
Spaced out indoors
Wonderful food, friendly staff
Rude hostess gave us a bad table saying that the 4 empty good tables were reserved for others. When we left, only two were taken. Just for that I would never go back. Super expensive and service does not measure up to the price. Food was ok at best. I am known in many upper eastside restaurants as a great customer and excellent tipper. Not here. If you want to have a special night, there are many other places close by that value your business and offer a great dining experience...not this place.
The food is delicious, the service is wonderful. An excellent dining experience in every way!
