Caracara Mexican Grill Ratings and Reviews
Food was ok, tasty! The egg brunch was not the best I’ve had nor the best thing on the menu. I prefer the apps like chicken rollitos or mole. The guac was overpriced at $22 but good and fun served table side. The fried ice cream was the worst I’ve ever had to be honest. Drinks and service were very good. Sangria was delicious !! Atmosphere is very nice and cozy! Overall bill was fairly priced for a Sunday brunch date.
Only problem was it was extremely overcrowded. There were extra tables added everywhere and there was literally no room to move because of that. The servers were having a difficult time getting to the tables they were attending, and were frequently getting bumped and spilling things. But under the circumstances, the staff was handling it like pros, they had their smiles and were doing everything to make it right.
third time at this restaurant. my wife and i had the empanadas and ceviche as appetizers. both were excellent. we both ordered the carne asada for entree. was also delicious. have enjoyed this restaurant. only downside is its very small. when you are 2 people you get a small table and privacy is diminished as the table for 2 next to us is basically right next to you almost as if you're together. won't stop me from going back.
My overall experience was a four. I would have given it a five. However, the seating arrangement is very tight. If your wearing a heavy winter coat you have to fold it under you and sit on it. When the servers are making the guacamole at the table or others they occasionally run up along your chair with the cart. Great food just need to reorganize the seating
food was excelent service was poor had a reservation and waited a long time to be seated people were walking in after I was waiting for a long time after my reservation time and were seated before us after we were seated we waited a long time for our waiter to come to the table to take a drink order. our waiter was very did go out of his way to make things better and explained he was sorry for the wait that he was really backed up . after that every thing was great
How many different superlatives are there in describing a restaurant?!?! CaraCara is simply the best restaurant on Long Island! The finest ingredients make every choice on the creative menu outstanding. In all the times I have dined there I have never had a meal that was less than excellent.
On top of the extraordinary authentic cuisine, the staff is the best trained most responsive group anywhere.
I can’t wait for my next opportunity to visit CaraCara
Best restaurant on Long Island. I am a frequent diner at CaraCara for good reason. Everything is excellent. Tonight’s ceviche was superb. For my entree I enjoyed outstanding pollo relleno. As always, the service was impeccable. Can’t wait until my next visit to CaraCara.
Caracara has done it yet again, exceeding expectations. I took a small group of close friends out for my wife’s birthday. The staff was great on top of our tables needs. I can’t say enough about the food, it keeps getting better every time we visit. You are never rushed through your meal, you can relax and truly enjoy dining the experience. Peter and Tony, way to go, you guys do it right. See you in a few weeks.
First I would like to state I am lactose intolerant and a vegan.
Being the menu is not vegan friendly I asked my waiter which dinner I should order that can be tailored to my situation. He suggested a meal and he assured me there would be no cheese or cream in the dinner.
Well, I was sick for 2 days and found out there was cream in the salsa.
So my suggestion is if you are a vegan or have any other food allergy this is not the restaurant for you.
