First I would like to state I am lactose intolerant and a vegan.
Being the menu is not vegan friendly I asked my waiter which dinner I should order that can be tailored to my situation. He suggested a meal and he assured me there would be no cheese or cream in the dinner.
Well, I was sick for 2 days and found out there was cream in the salsa.
So my suggestion is if you are a vegan or have any other food allergy this is not the restaurant for you.

Fair service. Sat us and forgot about us even though it was practically empty. Plenty of staff on hand. No excuse.

Best tableside guacamole ever! The entire serving staff is extremely well schooled on making super guacamole. As always, the carne asada was superb.

This is clearly the best restaurant on Long Island.

My favorite restaurant on Long Island. Superb ceviche! This time I had the fantastic paella. Awesome. Best serving staff around.

The service was great and the food was good. The restaurant itself was a bit too tightly packed. Your chair was constantly banging your neighbor's.

Cara Cara could be the best non slop Mexican food around this area. The food is always fresh. The waitstaff is well trained and efficient and friendly. Management is hands on. It’s an overall good experience.

My kid loves it, and that's saying a lot considering he's the worlds toughest food critic. My wife and I also enjoy it thoroughly. The meals are authentic and flavorful. Hasn't ever been a disappointment in the 4+ times we've gone here - and we will go back again and again. The food is fresh and the meals are comforting but creative. Tableside guacamole, not only is a feast for the eyes (especially for our little one!) but also a journey of flavor for the palate. Portions are hefty but not tough on the wallet. Britany has been our best server so far, though, everyone is patient, kind and attentive.

What a great find!

Caracara was a delightful dining experience. The entrees were delicious and the presentation of the entrees was very tasteful. I had the Carne Tampiquena and it was delicious and the portions were very filling for a very reasonable price. They even had my favorite tequila Don Julia Anejo which is not easy to find in restaurants or bars.

tried the table side guac, asked for spicy - sadly it had no kick whatsoever. Main courses were very slow coming out, and when they did it was clear that one entree had been forgotten and the other three had sat under a heat lamp. Meat was cold while the boniato (mashed white sweet potatoes) had a browned crust on top. Maybe the kitchen was just having a bad day but overall it was a disappointment.

My wife and I for no particular reason celebrate our wedding anniversaries with Mexican cuisine. We were looking for a new place and decided CaraCara was worth a shot.
We were not disappointed. The waiter was attentive and helpful with recommendations. I liked the homemade guacamole but would have used something other than wooden spoons to mash and mix. It was tasty but some of the ingredients got left on the bottom of the bowl. Also, I would have like more salsa served in a bigger bowl. Spooning it on the nachos was not what we were used to doing.
Overall, food was delicious with generous portions. Their house cocktails would be worth the drive. I highly recommend CaraCara, you won’t be disappointed. We plan on becoming CaraCara regulars.

Service was slow despite the place being virtually empty. We ordered table side guacamole spicy and it was the blandest guacamole I've ever tasted. Entrees were mediocre at best but highly priced for the quality of the food. Won't go back.

Been here many times. Tonight disappointment. Had reservation, relatively quiet, requested to sit in one of two open booths-denied. Requested to sit in out of the way two top, denied. Sat at two top soon sandwiched between party of 4 with cute baby and party of 6. Open tables everywhere. Food not as good as previous visits. Ugh. Becoming tired of the whole restaurant experience. Eat at home. Spend money on life.

This was very noisy and kids running around everywhere. I did not expect this from this type of establishment. This felt like I was at McDonald's with a play area. I don't know how the waiters avoided the kids and having food knocked over. This will be the last time I come here. Shame on the parents this is not your backyard.

Arrived at the restaurant well before our reservation and Peter and the staff made room for us right away. The service was excellent and attentive to my wife and I. The entrees were not only delicious the portion sizes are perfect. You won't leave hungry!
We will be back in the very near future. We highly recommend Caracara to anyone who want to enjoy Mexican fare.

Once again this restaurant lived up to it's reputation. Service is always spot on and the food is exceptional, as usual. Is still our go to place. Have never been disappointed.

It was noisy in there with screaming children. We had the tacos. Not very good The fish taco was dry and the steak and fish tacos had very little meat inside.

The guac was good.

It was expensive for what we got

My husband and I love Mexican food and somehow have never been to Caracara. We went the other night on a friend's recommendation and loved it. The decor is beautiful and the food was fantastic. My only negative comment was the tres leches cake was sooo dry! If you are soaking a cake in milk, I want it moist and decadent. Theirs was more like a crumbly scone texture. Next time I will opt for flan.

Had a decent time. Totally I rushed and at our own pace. Waiter was very nice and accommodating. Food was pretty good, the steak wasn't cooked completely to medium well, but was pleasantly surprised that I liked medium just as much. I didn't send it back.

Noise level in this restaurant is normally high. It's not a quiet dining experience. Had a little trouble hearing the guys on the other side of the table speaking at a normal volume.
