Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.
Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

The only reason we would move to Wilmington is for Caprice Bistro. We discovered
this gem of a restaurant about 10 years ago and return whenever in town.
Patrice is a marvelous host to all who come. The service has always been impeccable
and the food is fantastic. What more can you want?
In this time of COVID we were given a perfect table by the window . We felt comfortable
and secure in the service and in the food. The signature dish, The Wahoosie, is still
fantastic and the appetizers are always delicious and seasonal.
We look forward to returning.
Celebrated an anniversary. Great service and food.
Perfect dining experience every time!! Delectable and unique dishes cooked to perfection. Love this place
Awesome food Awesome service and very safe despite what is going on in the world
Super meal for my birthday weekend- the escargots were amazing and the seafood house speciality was excellent- lovely waitress and great service. Would recommend. Thank you
Always amazing and in a Covid-19 world they seem to be doing everything right to keep their customers safe. Three suggestions: Duck, Duck, Duck!
The food was tasty, but the service needs improvement. Our waiter forgot about our table more than two times. In the end, he was in a hurry for us to leave because we were his last table. No attention to detail. If you mind service not wearing masks, then this place is not for you.
We have been dining here for years and always received excellent food and service. This past visit may we’ll have been the best meal my wife and I have eaten here. We both ordered the flounder special. The fish was incredibly fresh, but the preparation is what made it so outstanding. The founder was perfectly cooked and seasoned and just flaked apart. It was served with three large jumbo shrimp, fresh peas, green beans, and squash served over a creamy risotto. What made the dish so special was the sauce. A thin, but superbly flavorful sauce that had a slight red hint to it. I have no idea what was in it, but it really took the dish over the top. I stopped to tell Patricia how much we enjoyed our evening. My wife and I were very comfortable dining there. All staff wore masks, the tables were “socially distanced”, and the menus were disposable. During the shutdown, they obviously refreshed the decor. It was quite attractive.
The food at this restaurant is to die for, and it always has been. The service was not so good tonight. We had to ask for water three times. It wasn’t even our waiter who brought it, it was his trainee. We did not get a return visit at any time about whether we wanted our glasses refilled . When it is 93 degrees outside or at any time, the water should be brought to the table( along with the menu) when greeted by the waiter. Atleast when wine is served, it should always accompany alcohol. We shouldn’t have to beg for it in this country
My husband and I agreed this was one of the best meals we've ever had in our lives. We ordered the Caprice Crepes for an appetizer, and we both had the Waterzooi for our entree. If you're a seafood fan, the Waterzooi will totally exceed your expectations!
Danny was great and the food waa amazing as usual!
i had the beef short ribs and was very disappointed. The short ribs have bones, and this meat did not. Also it was dry.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Will defiantly be going back.
Wonderful place to celebrate, ask for a window seat!
We go to Caprice whenever we want a special experience. Their mussels and Pom Frits are exceptional.
Caprice Bistro is our new favorite! We have visited frequently and the service and food are always outstanding! Everything on the menu that we have tried has been delicious and the Floating Island dessert is amazing! Make sure to order!
Excellent food and service. Very good value for such a high quality dining experience.
Good was excellent and service was great
Best French restaurant in Wilmington. We have been eating here for the last 20 years or so and it never disappoints!
Always love Caprice
The escargot was among my favorites I have ever enjoyed. My husband loved the lamb shank and I was thrilled with the waterzooi. Service was excellant. Will definitely return on my next visit to Wilmington.
The service is always friendly and prompt, and the food is wonderful. The escargots is so good I can never order another appetizer. The pommes frites are to die for, and their signature dish, waterzooi, is an incredible seafood bouillabaisse. Their fish dishes are always great, and the mussels are wonderful, with a choice of three different sauces. If I don’t get the waterzooi, I get the steak frites with peppercorn sauce. And the desserts are a fantastic ending to a spectacular meal. I’m partial to the mousse, but the floating island is very light and tasty as well.
Such a great restaurant. We are never disappointed.
We had not been here before, and were so pleasantly pleased. The place, and the staff, were very friendly and inviting. We had a cheese plate, the beef stew, blue cheese stuffed chicken and a delicious dessert. We sat inside, which was very nice. Next time, we want one of the single-table balconies overlooking the Cape Fear River!
Our favorite restaurant downtown Wilmington. The food is top notch. This was our first choice to go out after a long quarantine. Worth the wait.
A very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Great service and food and nobody rushing you. Great time.
This was for a special occasion - 35 year anniversary and this was a memorable experience for several reasons.
The food was certainly outstanding. Escargots were very well prepared. Duck was delicious.
However the dinner happened during [peaceful] protests for the death of George Floyd. The staff was worried about the protests turning violent and every patron was asked to rush eating and go back home. I hope to go back soon to have another taste of the fine dishes that Caprice has on its menu
We love the Caprice the food is delicious and has a consistent quality. Had escargot, waterzooie, pork and profiteroles. Romantic atmosphere, friendly and compident staff. Always a pleasure. Patricia Moriarty, the owner, is always delightful.
Did a good job with the social distancing stuff. Felt very safe & comfortable. Not crowded, so the noise level was very low. Service and food were both great. Had a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Thank you, Caprice Bistro. Meal was great with no worries about the virus since you took exceptionally excellent measures to keep your staff and customers safe.
We are glad to see you open again

Consistent excellence is truly a rarity in today's world. It is gratifying to know that a dinner at Caprice Bistro will be magnificent, in advance.
The ambiance is perfect. We ate in the sofa bar upstairs. The food is delicious and beautifully plated and the service is impeccable. I hope they will be able to survive the Coronavirus. It truly is a very special restaurant.
Everything was excellent except for the noise. We will be back.
Best restaurant in the city.
This was my first time at Caprice Bistro. The service and food was exceptional. I had mussels which were huge! I also had delicious lobster bisque.
FIrst time dining here. The food was spectacular. Very unique and wonderful dining experience on the second floor. Wonderful value for the quality.
Outstanding food outstanding service great atmosphere.
Great service and delicious food, as always. Caprice never disappoints.
Excellent French cuisine right here in Wilmington NC
We got the best table in the house, next to the window. Our waiter was wonderful, answered all our questions, and made some great recommendations. I had the steak au poivre, and my wife had the mahi mahi. Both were excellent, and the sauces complemented the meals very nicely. We did a dessert sampler that included creme brulee. I an not usually a fan, but this one was superb! Shows what happens when something is really done well! There were so many things on the menu I would like to try. We'll definitely be back!
