Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.

Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.

According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

Thierry is the chef and Patricia is your host at this gem of a restaurant in downtown Wilmington NC. Excellent food and beverage choices at fair prices. You can expect a great meal in a cozy atmosphere. Go and enjoy the quality. Don't forget to try different dishes including the daily specials. Caprice is a great place for fine French bistro food with fresh local ingredients. Nice affordable wine selections with enough food choices for everyone. Always a tasty meal and steps away from the Riverwalk. Go and see one of Wilmington's best. Friendly owner and great food make for a winner.

This is the second time my wife and I have been to Caprice, and both visits were great! We were also fortunate enough to have the same server, Katie, both times. Her service was about as perfect as it gets. Unobtrusive, but attentive, with great food knowledge. The food was also great this evening! We are foodies, and don't go out often, so when we do, we order a lot! We ordered the sausage special(duck) and the mussels as appetizers. Both were excellent, and the mussels were PEI mussels, so they were fantastic. Next, my wife ordered mushroom soup, while I ordered the Salade de Chicons, with beet dressing. The dressing was the perfect touch for this fresh, slightly bitter salad. For our main course, I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the duck confit. At this point, I got a little food envy! Her Duck was perfectly cooked, and paired with sides that completely complimented the meal. My salmon was OK, with the fish being dangerously close to being overcooked. It was paired with a sorrel emulsion, which was delicious. However, the sides were lacking. It's a pet peeve of mine when the accompaniment to an entree is not well though out. Personally, I think the salmon would be GREAT served with just the Salmon on top of the emulsion, but I understand that many guests want extra sides to go along with their entree, so I get it. We finished with two cappuccinos (expertly prepared by Katie) and the Gateau au chocolat, which was decadent and delicious! A perfect end to a perfect night! Special shout out to our server Katie, who raised our experience for good to amazing!

My wife and I have always had excellent service and great choices in excellent Belgian cuisine at Caprice. Our anniversary celebration was no exception and this continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Wilmington. There are great seafood, meat as well as vegetarian choices. The wine selection although not extensive is very good with multiple international vintages.

Our server, Randi, was excellent. She took care of our every need. Couple her great service with scrumptious food, especially the trout with almonds, and discounted bottles of wine and you definitely have a restaurant worth the drive from Ocean Isle Beach.

This is my favorite restaurant east of Paris. The food here is always delicious and the service is outstanding. I always take my lovely wife here for special date nights because she love the menu, wine list and inviting ambiance. Treat yourself to this wonderful place whenever you’re in Wilmington.

We are local and like the more "refined"ambiance. NOT a flip flop & T-shirt tourist haven. HALLELUJAH!
Cozy and intimate in a friendly-table-neighbor kind of way. Food is always outstanding. Hard to get away from favorites. This place only gets better. Our favorite.

We were here twice last week and were pleasantly surprised by the authentic french food, interesting wine list, and attentive service. The seafood stew (Waterzooi) was particularly fine.
The wine list is a blend of domestic and French. They do know their burgundies with good producers and recent vintages at a reasonable price. The list is not extensive and the wines change frequently. Ask for a table downstairs. The two top in the window is the best table or ask to be seated against the north wall
This is an excellent , authentic french bistro that any city in America could be proud of and France, as well.

This is a small quaint place with good ambiance. The service was attentive and spot on. The mushroom soup was creamy and delicious and the duck sausage tasty. The entrees, lamb cassoulet and short beef ribs, were outstanding. Has a good wine list. Their dessert menu with extensive after dinner drinks to choose from looked awesome but we were too full to partake. I don’t think you will regret visiting this terrific French restaurant.

This was our first time to Caprice Bistro and we will definitely return! This restaurant is must-go if you’re anywhere in the Wilmington area as it serves up stunningly authentic French cuisine paired with fresh local ingredients and a truly French bistro atmosphere. I had Mushroom Soup and the Duck Confit...and I’m still dreaming about that soup. As I ate, I tried to figure out the subtle flavors to recreate it at home. It’s that good. And I’d never had duck confit before but it was delicious paired with a simple lettuce salad, fried potatoes and an incredible orange gastrique sauce. My husband ordered PEI Mussels Marseillaise as an appetizer, which were meaty, plump and juicy. They were nearly the best he’s ever had, 2nd only to mussels we harvested fresh last year. They were The Best he’s ever had at a restaurant. And for dinner he had the House Specialty, Waterzooi, a plateful of assorted seafood in a light, aromatic, cream-based sauce. We shared a split of Sancerre which complimented both meals perfectly.
We shall return.

There is nothing but great things to say about Caprice Bistro. The main level dining area is reminiscent of an authentic French Bistro. White table cloth & pounded tin ceiling tiles. A bit more formal than upstairs bar/dining which is darker,& more intimate. Either would be fine to enjoy great preparations using incredibly fresh ingredients and impeccable service. Our dinner for two was simple, and satisfying, starting with a champagne cocktail called a Brown Sugar that was excellent, and a perfect dry vodka martini. Went with a bottle of French Sauvignon Blanc for dinner - reasonably priced & a perfect compliment for our food orders. We shared a warm vegetable appetizer of thinly sliced zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, sweet red pepper & fingerling potato topped with goat cheese. Yummy. For main we had the grilled caesar salad & the large plate of mussels Provencal w/pommes frites. Salad was perfect, not over dressed and seasoned nicely. The mussels were one of the best plates I have ever had . All were plump and so plentiful, I could not finish the order! Much as we wanted a dessert, like most of the entrees, it will have to wait for another time. We will be back soon!

Small, fun restaurant with menu focused on seafood. Service was prompt and attentive, without being suffocating. House salad (Salad Meli Melo) was fresh, simple, and quite good. We had the Pork Normandie which was tender, flavorful, and not over cooked. We also had the Waterzooi (seafood in broth) which as excellent. The broth is particularly good.

Overall, a very nice meal, in a very pleasant environment. We would certainly go again if we are in Wilmington and would certainly recommend.
