It is so good o will be back wife love it it was perfect for our anniversary escargot was the best
Terrific meal! Very bistro!
Service was great and food was very good. Tables were close together so you were able to hear other conversations.
Love this place. Always on point with food, cocktails, and service. Definitely try their fish of the day, mussels, and house red wine. My favorite place ❤️
Male waiter was not very attentive and moved too fast to provide good service. Some food was good; some surprisingly less tasty than expected. Would not choose to go there again soon.
great food and service at a reasonable price. this is where we always take our guests.
Simply outsatnding, food ,service but I wish you were in a larger space. A little bit crowed but worth it. Maybe in a new place in the future.
This is a small quaint place with good ambiance. The service was attentive and spot on. The mushroom soup was creamy and delicious and the duck sausage tasty. The entrees, lamb cassoulet and short beef ribs, were outstanding. Has a good wine list. Their dessert menu with extensive after dinner drinks to choose from looked awesome but we were too full to partake. I don’t think you will regret visiting this terrific French restaurant.
It was our first time there. Our server was friendly and helpful and hostess is amazing.
Great food and drinks!
I love salt but the frites and escargot were too salty. The steak was very tough and the mushroom sauce was bland. Kate our server was excellent and all the service was spot on.
This was our first time to Caprice Bistro and we will definitely return! This restaurant is must-go if you’re anywhere in the Wilmington area as it serves up stunningly authentic French cuisine paired with fresh local ingredients and a truly French bistro atmosphere. I had Mushroom Soup and the Duck Confit...and I’m still dreaming about that soup. As I ate, I tried to figure out the subtle flavors to recreate it at home. It’s that good. And I’d never had duck confit before but it was delicious paired with a simple lettuce salad, fried potatoes and an incredible orange gastrique sauce. My husband ordered PEI Mussels Marseillaise as an appetizer, which were meaty, plump and juicy. They were nearly the best he’s ever had, 2nd only to mussels we harvested fresh last year. They were The Best he’s ever had at a restaurant. And for dinner he had the House Specialty, Waterzooi, a plateful of assorted seafood in a light, aromatic, cream-based sauce. We shared a split of Sancerre which complimented both meals perfectly.
We shall return.
Always excellent food and service is great. My favorite downtown restaurant!
Caprice is our Wilmington Restaturant of choice. The menu is interesting with plenty of variety. The food description always translates into a delightful meal.
The atmosphere is cosy, the service second to none.
A great place to enjoy dinner.
There is nothing but great things to say about Caprice Bistro. The main level dining area is reminiscent of an authentic French Bistro. White table cloth & pounded tin ceiling tiles. A bit more formal than upstairs bar/dining which is darker,& more intimate. Either would be fine to enjoy great preparations using incredibly fresh ingredients and impeccable service. Our dinner for two was simple, and satisfying, starting with a champagne cocktail called a Brown Sugar that was excellent, and a perfect dry vodka martini. Went with a bottle of French Sauvignon Blanc for dinner - reasonably priced & a perfect compliment for our food orders. We shared a warm vegetable appetizer of thinly sliced zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, sweet red pepper & fingerling potato topped with goat cheese. Yummy. For main we had the grilled caesar salad & the large plate of mussels Provencal w/pommes frites. Salad was perfect, not over dressed and seasoned nicely. The mussels were one of the best plates I have ever had . All were plump and so plentiful, I could not finish the order! Much as we wanted a dessert, like most of the entrees, it will have to wait for another time. We will be back soon!
I always love coming to Caprice when I’m craving authentic French food. Service was a bit slow the evening we went. That was unusual.
Delightful as always. Usually I enjoy the unique Waterzooi, but the salmon and trout are also delicious. A nice selection of wines and a knowledgeable staff who are understanding and cooperative if you need to get to a show.
Small, fun restaurant with menu focused on seafood. Service was prompt and attentive, without being suffocating. House salad (Salad Meli Melo) was fresh, simple, and quite good. We had the Pork Normandie which was tender, flavorful, and not over cooked. We also had the Waterzooi (seafood in broth) which as excellent. The broth is particularly good.
Overall, a very nice meal, in a very pleasant environment. We would certainly go again if we are in Wilmington and would certainly recommend.
Went before the theater.
Mussels are fantastic!!! Salmon with pistachio crust top notch. Will definitely go again.
I always get the chef's special which is usually fresh fish prepared to perfection. I love the veggies that are paired with the entre.
Very nice restaurant with excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend!
A wonderful dinner w great food and service!! We’ll be back!!
Always excellent.Had a light dinner before the theater-such good food and great value. Our favorite restaurant in Wilmington
In town for a concert and chose Caprice Bistro on web. The food was delicious and service great. Would love to go again! Manhattan was as good as a large city.
Invariably, Caprice Bistro excels. For ten years we have chosen it as our go-to place for an authentic European meal at reasonable prices.
Went for my wife’s birthday as the restaurant came highly recommended. I liked the location, greeter, service and the meal was very good. I liked the option for local beer as well. Nice place; will return.
Nice size portions for the price. Excellent food, very tasty, compliments to the chef!
Wonderful fool very French, duck melting in your mouth. Grilled Trout had a great sauce, light but super yummy. Big portions, excellent prices. Very good location.
This was our second year going here for our anniversary and was blown away again with the service and the food. Highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back each time we are in Wilmington.
One of my favorite restaurants. Food is excellent, staff is attentive and even the bread is excellent.
We went on Feb 15 to celebrate Valentines Day because it was booked full on the 14th. We had a lovely and delicious dinner once again. Caprice serves upscale cuisine that is reasonably priced and always delicious.
This was a great venue for valentines dinner with my sweetheart. It was very enjoyable and we had a great time!! I will go back for sure!
Exceptional food in a charming atmosphere. One of the best restaurants, consistently, that we ever had the pleasure to enjoy. All the offerings represent the best of French cuisine but lean toward comfort food in terms of character. There are many good restaurants in the area, but it will be hard too not choose Caprice Bistro the next time we dine out.
As always, fantastic food and service. Definitely one the best restaraunts in Wilmington.
Great river from our romantic corner table upstairs. Great bar upstairs. Our server Jack was top-notch as was the entire staff that assisted. I had an unreal mushroom soup and delicious crepes. My wife's entree was delightful as well. Everything was perfect!
Great food and service. It was our first visit. We will be back.
My wife loves variety. She ordered five appetizers. The maitre d was kind enough to pull the neighboring table over to accommodate them all at once for her preferred buffet style meal. Pork cheeks, salmon patte, rabbit sausage, onion soup, and escargot were perfectly prepared. I ordered the fish special which was swordfish; flavorful and tender. The bartender prepared our martinis as asked and the bottle of wine was kept chilled at the bar. Our waiter kept our glasses full of both water and wine. Chocolate mousse dessert; three, two serving scoops of white, milk and dark served with mint leaves and powdered sugar was the perfect ending. A splendid, romantic evening at a second floor window table.
It was a bit noisy when we first arrived but settled down after the first wave of diners left for the symphony. Food was excellent as well as service. Prices were very reasonable.
Everyone commented that their meals were delicious. It was the first time for our friends and they will be back. The mussels we're outstanding, as always. The service was excellent. We were seated exactly where I requested.
We had a really nice experience . We were coming in from out of town to attend a concert , were running late . I called to let them know, and was assured there would be no problem . Told our waiter when we arrived that we were on a tight deadline to make the concert. We were amazed at how quickly and efficiently he served us. Made it so much more pleasant to eat a finely prepared and delicious meal without feeling like we had to gag it down in minutes. A truly exceptional performance by the obviously well trained and performance driven staff of a venue with nice ambiance ( I recommend the second floor) and great food.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Caprice Bistro- excellent food, service and ambience! We had the house specialty Waterzooi and mussels. Excellent wine choices and Creme Brûlée as good as we have had anywhere.
