Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.
Friday-Saturday: 5pm to 11 pm.
The meal was great along with the dessert. The noise level was high only because of the small room size.
Caprice Bistro is a favorite ours. This is our go-to place for speacial occasions. The servers are very knowledgeable of how the food is prepared when asked questions. As a couple we love the intimacy of the upstairs bar and lounge to relax and have a drink.
The service was very outstanding and they were such a pleasure and helpful for us. The frog legs and escargot were to die for.
The service was impeccable, nicely paced, friendly and efficient. The food and presentation was wonderful, our party of four were very impressed. The steak frites and muscles were prepared to perfection.
My husband was looking forward to going back to Caprice for their mussels. The last time he had them they were superb. This time he ordered them as his appetizer and the trout for his entree. The mussels were only so-so and his fish was over cooked and dry. My food on the hand was excellent. I had a cup of creamed mushroom soup and pork tenderloin for my dinner. The soup was excellent and the pork was good. Everything else was as it should be.
We had friends visiting from out of town. Our waiter Jack was excellent. Food was delicious and the overall dining experience was great. If you have a chance to go you will not be disappointed.
We have lived in Europe and this restaurant nailed it!! Our favorite!! The food and service is outstanding!! The price was a bonus for what you get!! Excellent evening!! Thank you so much!!
It's one of my favs, I've eaten here several times, it has always been great!
Exceptional food, exceptional service. Would highly recommend the escargot and the creme brûlée was fabulous.
Always great food.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of Wilmington. Most of the time, I find 2 or 3 of the best things on a restaurant's menu and order it over and over again. I've been here a dozen times and never ordered the same thing and couldn't tell you what the best thing is, they all are. Great service and atmosphere too, and half as expensive as other restaurants in town with similar culinary excellence.
Date-night with my wife. We were visiting from out of town. Our usual place around the corner disappointed us badly the day before. I saw the glowing reviews for Caprice Bistro. The food was outstanding and the service couldn't be better.
We arrived not long after opening. There were few patrons and it was quiet. Seems like it would still be a pleasant environment even with the dining room full.
Moules frites are outstanding. The ambienece is very European.
Escargot and pork cheek starters were as great as the first time. Leek gratin was underseasoned but good. The waterzooi was great, although the whitefish included had a tough, dry texture. NY strip also lacked seasoning and the accompanying butter based sauces were thin and broken. Unfortunately, one of our glasses had lipstick stains from a previous customer but it was handled speedily and apologetically by our server which I appreciated. The dining room was also very loud and felt a little cramped. Overall it was a good experience.
This is our favorite place to eat, for any occasion. Delicious, well-prepared French classics and fresh fish specials. It is noisy, however. Next time we will go upstairs, where it seemed to be quieter and has more open space.
The mussels are just great. Try the curried version!
Caprice Bistro never disappoints! dee-licous !!! Service is attentive and the staff is knowledgeable as far as how the dish is prepared. Also our gal gave us a heads up if something was on the spicy side-- much appreciated especially if you're looking to avoid a dish with some heat!! We always look forward to coming here when in Wilmington.
Three delicious meals and excellent service.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The waterzooi is phenomenal!
As always Caprice Bistro was excellent. The food is marvelous and the service makes it feel European. It is one of our favorite spots for fine dining. It was our anniversary and they saved us a window seat which was wonderful.
Unique cocktails, great service, upstairs tables are more intimate than downstairs.
Have visited this restaurant many times, always enjoyed the meal. Had mussels this evening and they were spectacular. Trout was only so-so, the couscous was not my favorite thing to go under it. Noticed the menu was the same as the first time I ever came here, more than 10 years ago - wasn't really seasonal and seemed a bit more staid and standard than I recall.
Excellent food and service. We deferred to the waiter to order our food and everything he recommended was excellent. Great port to end the night. Highly recommend.
Excellent as always. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Caprice Bistro never fails....
Wonderful Anniversary Dinner!
Best seat in the house, the window seat, knowledable waiter and fabulous Beef Bourguignon!
This was our second time in Wilmington and our second time at Caprice Bistro! We love it and this restaurant will be at the top of our list on our next visit. Hats off to the chef!
Every time we have been there we have been pleased and satisfied. Our top restaurant!
Always excellent. The meli milo salad changed¡ Change it back please
We came here to celebrate 5 Year’s together! The food was excellent and so was our server!!
Great dining experience. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and was absolutely please with the food selection and taste. Service was great along with the atmosphere. We will be returning.
The food and service is always exceptional.
Caprice Bistro is our favorite. Food is always very good and server, Katie, who we always request is an excellent part of an incredible evening experience.
Service staff was kind but uncoordinated. I asked a question about how good was the coq o vin and they brought out a plate inside of 3 minutes. ...Before my wine order or appetizer order was taken. I had to send it back to start the cycle over.
My escargot was excellent. Served as a non-standard dish with plenty of well seasoned snails and a sauce to die for. Regretfully, the bread arrived way to late for me to enjoy the delectable sauce as it should have been (I ate it by spoon). The coq flavor for my ultimate main course was astounding..gentle but powerful.
This was a wonderful culinary experience...but without any of the circus that could have made it very special.
Fabulous meal ....very romantic and cozy. We were visiting Wilmington for the weekend.
We had a leisurely, delicious meal celebrating a birthday. The server was very attentive without hovering, the courses were well paced, and the food was excellent, from the escargot to the special that night (swordfish and ratatouille) to the steak frites to the creme brulee and coffee.
Lovely meal at Caprice! It never disappoints!
Our waiter was serving too many tables and clearly had some favorite regulars he preferred to serve. The appetizer was very good but our lamb and grouper were bland and cold. We have dined here in the past and had a better experience. Hopefully it was just an off night unfortunately it was our anniversary.
Delicious salmon, trout and seafood mixed dinners in our party of four. Appetizers and salad very tasty. Somewhat limited wine selection and vintage not listed on wine list for some. A big city feel in a smaller venue. Servers were attentive without being intrusive. Noise level moderate but conversation was comfortable. Though tables are close together, our space was comfortably our own. We will definitely come back in the near future. The cost was reasonable and comparable to other quality restaurants!
We are never disappointed when we eat at Caprice Bistro. As close to Paris dining as you can get in all of the Wilmington Area. Servers are very knowledgeable and so attentive. We go back again and agian when we have that special occasion to celebrate.
Great meal in lovely setting!
Great service, great food. Good time with friends.
