   We often visit Caprice Bistro, a couple of times a month…. The offer a very simple but classic French/Belgium style menu…. Even the menu may stay the same over the years, the always offer daily special items so plenty of options to try something new. Sometimes we eat a full 3 course menu and sometimes just a soup or salad and a appetizer. We always gets greeted with great hospitality from the owner (Madam is in front, her husband is the owner Chef)… Service has always been great as well, and they always knows the specific wines by the glass and the daily specials… Beverages order is always taken quickly (hate to wait for a drink) and the food always comes out in a good timely manner.. The price point is VERY reasonable, great quality and plate presentations ALL the times…. One of our favorite spots in Downtown Wilmington…. Do yourself a favor….. Try it out!!!    Just a wonderful experience all the way around! Caprice Bistro is the crown jewel of downtown. The food is sublimely delicious - all prepared in the French style. I have no doubt that one could order anything on this menu and it would be absolutely delicious. I had the Crepe Caprice as an appetizer. It was just yummy with different melted cheeses and mushroom cream sauce. My chosen entree was the French classic Boeuf Bourguignon. And it was so good in a beautiful burgundy sauce. Dessert was Oeufs a La Neige or Floating Island, and it was beautifully presented with a pretty flower as the focal point. This is a yummy meringue floating in a vanilla sauce. It is light and sweet and just the perfect end to an incredible meal! Service and hospitality was impeccable, and my friend and I, who were catching up after not having seen each other for a while, just had a fabulous time! Thank you Caprice Bistro!

    Food was very good. Two had mountain fish and others had steak. Wait staff was very proficient. Didn’t have coffee for after mean? Negative was the noise level for a smaller restaurant

    We had escargot, Arugula Salad, Waterlooi, the Swordfish special, and the Macaroon dessert. Every aspect and ounce of our dinner was excellent from temperature and presentation to taste. A fine dinning experience from start to finish.

    Caprice Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants in Wilmington. It reminds me of a restaurant in Brussels we had loved, years ago. The signature cocktails I’ve had are good. My husband enjoyed a draft beer. My grilled romaine with shrimp appetizer was very good. We didn’t love the escargot. My mussels were good, and the portion was more than I could finish. My husband enjoyed his dish as well. I already have a reservation to return, and know what I’m getting. My favorite dish here is waterzooie (sp?) and after trying several other dishes on recent visits, I’m yearning for that yummy speciality! The upstairs area is charming for dinner or cocktails and apps.

    absolutely amazing. we started our dinner with the seasonal soup and calamari and it just set the tone for the rest of the meal. we had the chicken and steak entrees, did not disappoint! we want to make it a yearly tradition to come. (we live in Virginia)

    Caprice never disappoints. Everything in the menu is outstanding. I always know I’m going to have a fabulous meal with amazing service in a beautiful bistro. Last night was perfect Kat the bartender was on pointe making her best martinis, our amazing waitress (whose name I am not sure how to spell and I am sorry) Meaken was the perfect server and Nick was a delightful help to her. The wonderful hostess was so accommodating and was able to get us in earlier than our initial reservation. Perfect night thank you to all especially Miss Pat and Chef for having such a wonderful restaurant

    All staff were smart, courteous, fun, helpful and professional. We ordered a swordfish special with a multitude of fresh vegetables and a staple seafood dish with 2 types of fish, shrimp, scallops and muscles in a delicate and tasty cream sauce. We shared an arugula salad with goat cheese and walnuts and a creme brûlée' for dessert. This was truly a special dinner. My wife was in Montreal last month and raved about the French cuisine she experienced. She said this was as good or better than she had there at a 30 to 40 percent discount. You will not be disappointed. Our daughter and her family are visiting us at the end of the month. We reserved a table for the 6 of us.

    Caprice Bistro is always consistently good. Servers are well versed in the specials for the day and are pleasant. The ambience is great . We actually love sitting at the bar and lament the loss of the previous happy hour bar menu since Covid.

    We absolutely love Caprice! The space is cozy with great ambiance, good for a casual meal, a date night, or celebration. The staff is fantastic and always go the extra mile to ensure we have a great experience. And the food is always amazing. I have nothing but great things to say about Caprice.     The food was amazing, we both really enjoyed the rabbit sausage. The wait staff very pleasant and attentive! The hostess was very thoughtful and kind, we were seated by a window which had a nice view of the city street below and the river! We’ll definitely be back.

    My wife and I had dinner at Caprice and it was the best meal we had during our three day stay in Wilmington--and all our meals were good. We began with the Crepe Caprice, which we both enjoyed a lot, even though I'm generally not that fond of mushrooms. My wife then had the Waterzooi, a house specialty with a variety of seafoods in a delicious cream broth. I had the Mountain Trout, which was cooked perfectly and smothered in a delicious caper butter sauce. We would both be perfectly happy going back to have these same dishes again, though there were a number of other things we might be tempted to try instead. I finished with a pistachio creme brûlée, which was probably the best of hundreds of creme brûlées I'v eaten over the years, and my wife had the chocolate mousse, which was very good though perhaps not particularly distinctive. Very good service and a pleasant ambience (we were upstairs by the window overlooking the street). This will now be our go-to restaurant when we visit the Wilmington area.

    Love this restaurant The food is always beautifully presented and the chef sources the finest of ingredients The owner is the chef and his wife works the front of the house and she is charming Just a consistently wonderful restaurant We’ve been dining there for 10 years since we moved to Wilmington and hands down it’s the best dining experience nothing comes close to compare it with!

    My husband and I went out for my birthday and split the crepe appetizer, which was creative and delicious. I had the waterzooi entree and my husband had the trout entree, both of which were incredible. We paired our dinner with an amazing white Bordeaux 😊 Great restaurant, this is our second time here and we’ll be back!

    The Food is Absolutely AMAZING!!! On this trip, we had the charcuterie Board Appetizer. - Great variety of Items, including a couple Salami varieties, 3 different Pate', an amazing Brie, and a small selection of fruit/nuts/pickles. All components were fantastic, along side the fresh baked bread. The Braised Lamb Shank was one of the best I have ever had, served in a rich broth, with aldente white beans.. The beef bourguignon was cooked perfectly and had amazingly layered flavors. We ate upstairs on this visit, and there were 2 large parties, which I am sure played a role in the actual dining experience. It was so loud upstairs that we could barely hear our waiter, nor ourselves trying to have a conversation at a 2-top table... Service was a bit slow, which was not my experience from past visits, but this specific evening too us (Party of 2), nearly 2 hours (6:55pm to 8:45pm) to have our meal.. Pricing was more than fair for the amazing quality of food that we had, and we will be going back again in future!!

    We really enjoyed Caprice Bistro. It is a very nice location and parking was available not too far away. Our waitress was cordial, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. The food was excellent and so was the house wine. Creme Brule was delicious although a little slow in coming. I highly recommend Caprice Bistro for upscale dining with a continental Savoire Faire. 0

    An absolute local gem! Gorgeous French meal - just like sitting in a Parisian bistro but in the heart of Wilmington. Cozy ambiance / vibe. The meal starts with fresh, warm baguette and high quality olive oil + balsamic. We ordered family style with a mix of apps (crepe and escargot) and entrees (lamb, beef bourguignon, and waterzooi). Can’t wait to return to try more menu items - each visit can be a new adventure of taste and flavor. We loved hearing the history of the restaurant, the chalkboard drawn map showing where in France / Belgium the owners/chefs are from, and seeing the owners at work in the restaurant until closing, then watching them leave together holding hands. Our server was also very kind, friendly, and engaging and gave us great menu recommendations that we followed. Thank you Caprice, here’s to many more years!
