Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.
Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

Great food, ambience and service. We celebrated our recent wedding anniversary and it was a wonderful experience.
We had a very nice meal and service at Caprice. The food was prepared exceptionally well and the service was also great. Definitely recommend if you appreciate good food.
The food was absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed the appetizer as well as two entrees and everything was excelLent. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and impeccable service. Best restaurant in the area.
Always consistently delicious. Great service. Always a go to place!
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had recently. We were in Wilmington for the day and a friend recommended. We will definitely be back.
The food was impressively creative, with complementary flavors and textures. Our server was perfectly attentive and very well versed on the menu.
We have been to Caprice many times and have always had excellent food and service.
It’s playoff season so hard to find a restaurant without the distraction of sports on TV. This was perfect: tasteful dining room, low noise, great staff and never a disappointment from the menu. Come early and have a cocktail in the upstairs bar.
A classic French/Belgian bistro -- the best grown-up restaurant downtown.
The owner greeted us at the door as we dashed in from a late shower. She knew our names from the online reservation and noted it was our anniversary, commenting that she has picked a cozy table for two upstairs overlooking the street. We were seated within 2 minutes and our waiter arrived within 2 minutes of the seating. Upstairs had the feel of a 1920’s cigar/absinthe bar with red and dark blue painted walls, covered with local art, light strings, comfy chairs, sofas intermingled with simple tables, each with a simple black cloth and an amber globe with a lit votive candle. French and American jazz played quietly throughout the eve. From cocktails to dessert, the food was excellent: beautifully presented, flawlessly seasoned, expertly prepared. We started with house made pea soup (chicken stock and house made smoked bacon as the base!), followed by a triptych app special of marinated endive salad, house made rabbit pâté and delicately fried fresh calamari. An unusual but surprisingly successful combination. We had the catch of the day (pan seared founder with shrimp) and a beautiful beef Bourgogne as entrees. We finished with chocolate mousse and pistachio creme brûlée with a glass of calvados. Truly a delightful and wholly satisfying evening. A huge part of the wonderful experience credited to our great waiter, Alex. Smart, knowledgeable, perfectly attentive, never intrusive, remarkably calm with several covers! A total joy!
Always a great experience!
Amazing food and one of the most delicious French meals we have ever had. This is a high compliment as we have traveled to France many times! This restaurant is very cute and comfortable inside. The service was very good. As the evening progressed the dining room filled up so the noise level ramped up but our meal was so perfect that this issue was tolerated. Honestly we cannot say enough good things about this place.
Wonderful time celebrating a birthday celebration
We always have a wonderful dinner at Caprice Bistro, and last night was no exception. My husband had the trout, which he loved; and I had the delicious salmon. Surprisingly, the highlight of our meal was the crepe appetizer, which we thoroughly enjoyed with the cheese platter. We will be returning soon for another fabulous meal. Thank you for always providing an amazing experience.
This was our first revisit to Caprice Bistro in 4 years. Everything from food to service to timing was as perfect as we remembered. This is the most authentic European bistro we have eaten at outside of Paris. There is nothing that could be improved. Wish there were more places like this in NC.
It is so hard to decide on what wonderful thing to order. Come often and try it all.
Kind service, good music not too loud perfect volume, charming ambience. Food was good as well, a good place to bring a date, nice but not too fancy.
We love going to Caprice. One of our go to restaurants. They are consistently great. There was three of us dining and our foods were absolutely delicious. The mushroom soup was perfect. The Pork Chop special was cooked to perfection as well as the salmon… the crepe appetizer was ordered as an entree and that is always a go to if you’re looking for something light…. And our waiter was always on top of everything. Thank you, Caprice….
Great food and atmosphere and service was outstanding!
Great dining experience! Would definitely recommend. Wife enjoyed her bday. Dessert would definitely recommend the floating island if you like coconut.
Caprice has been our favorite Wilmington restaurant for years!
This is one of our all time favorites when we vacation in the area. Consistently fabulous!
Excellent food and service.
It was our 41st wedding anniversary. We were expecting just okay service due to the pandemic. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was presented beautifully and was excellent. A great experience!
We have dined here for years. I typically order the duck and it's superb. This time it was over done and a bit dry. The rest of the meal was very good.
The food was delicious (pate maison -- salmon, trout, boeuf bourguignon -- floating island and profiteroles). The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that Caprice Bistro is 600 miles from our home. If we lived nearby, we would definitely be regulars!
This is a lovely French restaurant right in the middle of all the cool little shops and places of interest in waterfront Wilmington. It’s not cheap but well worth it. Great date night experience. The lemon drop martini kicked my dinner off nicely. A perfectly prepared New York strip followed by a deliciously creamy creme brulee with the toasty crunch on top.
C'était magnifique. The curry moules we’re the best I’ve ever had including in France. I’d give 6 stars if I coild.
Fantastic from start to finish. Service was excellent. The cocktails were great. The cheese plate was excellent. The duck was cooked and seasoned perfect. The cream puff desert was outstanding and a must have!
This is by far one of our favorite spots in Wilmington! We have tried quite a few items on the menu and nothing disappoints! The upstairs has a super cute sofa lounge/bar but if you are there for a business meal downstairs is also a good option. Highly recommend this spot to anyone!
We had the duck, a little dry, and the fish, which was excellent.
Wonderful restaurant! Owner greeted us at the door, welcomed us and waitress escorted us to our table.
We have a variety of cocktails and wines to choose from and served promptly and to our satisfaction. I chose the Trout and my friend chose the pork special bout were delicious and nice portions. Very please with everything about Caprice Bistro.
Everything was absolutely perfect! The only reason for one 4 star is that the coffee that we had at the end of a meal was cold . The food was delicious and well presented. We will definitely be back.
Always great food & great service! One of my favorites in Wilmington
As usual the food and service were world class. The muscles and sole /shrimp special were exquisite . I am in a wheelchair and the portable access ramp they have made life very easy and their accessible bathroom was perfect .
Melt in your mouth classic French food. Floating Island dessert great.
Great Bistro fare with traditional and thoughtful preparations of quality ingredients to create a little bit of northern France in Wilmington. Great wine list with some real gems at an affordable price point. There is no bad item on the menu. It's not what's good, it's what you are in the mood for. This is our must go whenever we are in town.
Anniversary celebration. It was a delightful and delicious everyone. We had a delicious lamb Shank and steak with a special mushroom sauce. Dessert was chocolate mousse which was wonderful
When we are in Wilmington, our first choice for dining is always Caprice Bistro. Everything is fabulous, from the freshly baked bread to the luscious desserts. I enjoy the escargot appetizer and the duck entree. My husband finds the Waterzooi to be spectacular. The chocolate mousse , my favorite, is excellent. But all the desserts are well worth the calories.
