Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.
Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

Caprice Bistro is our favorite restaurant in Wilmington. The food is delicious and plentiful. You are greeted warmly upon arrival and the wait staff is superb. When we are in town we will return to Caprice and highly recommend it to others.
Good and service were fantastic! My only gripe would be that I had specifically requested a window seat either upstairs or down as it was my husbands birthday. When they seated us upstairs they put us in the middle of the room. When I noticed an empty table near the window I asked if we could sit there. They said no as it was reserved. No one ever sat there the entire time, 2+ hours so I was a bit annoyed. Still a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Wonderful experience at Caprice Bistro- great food, ambiance and lovely service. Highly recommended.
Love this restaurant. We have been fans since they had Patou in Charlotte. It’s always a pleasant dining experience and the food is spot on.
The best restaurant in the city
Simple, yet very delicate and delicious menu for those who want to go to a simple, faster yet more upscale dining experience. Would absolutely recommend to a friend. Merci to the wonderful staff!
Awesome per usual!
One of the best restaurants in town. Always great food and service!
We always have an amazing time here. This time I ordered the Petite Cochon pork tenderloin and I about fell out of my seat it was so delicious and tender. The half bottle of Sancerre was served at the perfect temperature. We had a great dinner.
The only gripe I have is that prior to the pandemic, they were open until 2am. Now a romantic dinner at midnight was so European, we loved it. They changed their hours and now close at 10pm. Tears…
We have always enjoyed having dinner at Caprice Bistro and this visit was no different.
Authentic food, true ambiance, and excellent service!
Every time we come to Wilmington we make sure to eat at this wonderful restaurant.
Comfortable environment and wonderful food!!!
We had a nice time—went on a Thursday evening for dinner. The food was delicious. The service was ok but not exemplary. The wait staff seemed very hurried and a little frazzled. Given the current job market, I suspect this issue is a result of being overworked and understaffed—so overall understandable. Our table was near a lounge area with sofas and chairs. This area was packed and the noise level was high.
Have been there several times over 8 years always great
This darling French Bistro is a gem in downtown Wilmington. The food & presentation is always flawless, and the service is always efficient and,the staff pleasant. Great find downtown.
A wonderful first experience at this delicious restaurant. Our server was welcoming but professional. The food was top notch. Served on hot plates! Will be back!!
All was great as expected. We enjoyed all . We highly recommend this restaurant
Favorite restaurant in Wilmington, NC! Authentic French and always excellent! Mushroom soup and Waterzooie are phenomenal!
Loved eating here! The meal was delicious and drinks were a hit! Will be back.
Absolutely outstanding - all the food we had was excellent. We will be back!
Our waiter was wonderful, attentive, and courteous. Food was delicious and ambience wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful night with my two girls!
The staff had our table ready and the server promptly took our initial drink order. She was attentive without being too intrusive. All the food was delicious except for the mussels which were nowhere near the Caprice Bistro standard. There was so much pepper in the sauce my wife had a very difficult time eating them and we both were severely disappointed in the experience. In addition, the menu has changed where there is no longer an option to order mussels without also getting fries. We didn’t want fries but we were forced to get them with our order, an obvious large price increase for no reason.
Caprice Bistro never disappoints 😊
Delicious food especially the Escargot and lamb shank!
A must visit venue in downtown Wilmington. Great spot for date night.
Always consistently delicious. We have been eating there for years.
Fine dining and friendly service… very pleasant dining experience!
Great evening for husband’s birthday. French classics well done.
Crepe was delicious as was the onion soup and Les Merons martini. The arugula salad of the day skimped on blue cheese morsels.
Our waitress Devin was Fabulous, attentive and anticipated our every need!
Lovely evening , great food, service and ambience. Always my fav in Wilmington particularly for French food.
Best food and dining experience in Wilmington. Consistently excellent. The duck is outstanding!
Excellent food and service. We had the Duck Confit and beef bourguignon . Both were excellent. We can’t wait to go back.
My dad moved to Wilmington this summer. He and I try to do dinner together weekly or every other week, trying different restaurants. Caprice Bistro has been the very best so far. Brian was the best server we’ve had since beginning our dining excursions this summer. He was attentive without being intrusive and had excellent recommendations. The food and atmosphere was excellent. I had the house special (a seafood stew- Waterzooi?) it was amazing. My dad had the trout and loved it. We will be back soon.
We've enjoyed going to Caprice Bistro for the last several years. Typically, the food and service are excellent, though it seems the quality may be slipping a bit. My husband was disappointed in his steak-frites; the steak and the au poivre sauce were on the bland side, and the French fries were rubbery. I'd still give Caprice Bistro another chance... maybe in a couple months.
Went here after seeing and hearing a lot of great reviews. While overall the food was good, the ambiance/service was sub par. Bright, no music, pumping people in and out. Our server was fine, she just asked what we wanted each time she came to the table but overall wasn’t very helpful. It was a decent experience, nothing to write home about though.
Make sure to get the escargot and panche de charcuterie ;]
