Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.
Friday-Saturday: 5pm to 11 pm.
Caprice is a favorite!! The staff is amazing, and the food is wonderful!
Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had the soup de jour which was a delicious cream of mushroom. My husband got the French onion soup, which I tasted. He liked it but I thought the broth wasn't very rich. More like a chicken stock. I would not order it on another visit. Hubby loved his beef bbourguignon. I had duck Condit a la orange that was a little dry, the potatoes placed under it were tasty but a little greasy, the orange gastric was not very orange or plentiful, The heirloom cherry tomatoes with the salad that's served on the plate were unripe. Plate was also stone cold. Creme broulee was to die for. Chef did a great job caramelzing the sugar too! Hubby loved the triple chocolate mousse! We will definitely go again but I will try something else next time.
Excellent all around. Caprice has never failed to provide excellent food at a good value. A true gem l, we are happy to have this bistro in our town.
Simply the best. Food is spectacular, atmosphere second-to-none, service is top-notch! Went for wife's birthday, as we do every year and it was a great overall experience. She had mussels and I had the Lobster Bisque for starters. Best lobster bisque I have eaten and I have traveled extensively. Main course orders were steak frites and coq au vin. Both exceeded expectations.
Robert my waiter was fantastic ! Great time and delicious food! Party of 1 - comfortable !
We had a reservation at 8:30 . When we arrived, there was just a table available in a busy intersection . The hostess moved us as soon as another table came available. We didn’t even ask . That was very nice . We came about 3 years ago for our birthdays . We loved the food , so we came back this year . We live about 2 hours away . We were very happy we came back . The cocktails we perfect . I got the lobster bisque , and it was good . I got the Chicken Ballotine and my wife got the duck . We were bother very happy . I love the portion sizes . It isn’t too much or too little . We had chocolate cake to end the meal . Thank you . We will see you guys again soon !
Very reminiscent of a real French Bistro. Intimate, close tables however relatively quiet. I would give this a 10 if not for the fact we waited 15 minutes before being acknowledged by our waitress and then another 15 minutes before 2 of the 4 drinks arrived and another 10 minutes (with prompting) for the other two drinks to arrive. Having said that: the drinks were perfect; two cosmos, one manhattan and one rob roy.
The food is excellent, priced accordingly and inventive. Overall we will be back, perhaps asking for a different waitress.
We always enjoy our visits to Caprice Bistro. The service and French cuisine are exceptional.
They do a very good job here. The kitchen is outstanding, all the French Classics and Daily Specials. Delicious, but try to save room for Desert.
The Caprice is really two venues, Downstairs is more formal, like a petite NY Brasserie.
Upstairs is more Bohemian, a lively bar, some comfortable, upholstered chairs and couches, and a few nice tables. Early birds can get some half price apps at the bar, and they serve late enough to accommodate diners who attended all but the most self indulgent theatre.
This Family operated, Owners in the house, Bistro will take fine care of you.
We celebrated our 43rd anniversary last week at Caprice Bistro and we had an absolutely lovely evening. The waiter was very attentive and enthusiastic, the food and wine were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, and the restaurant's ambiance was cozy and quiet (we were seated by the front window downstairs). When we met the owner, Patricia, we told her we now have a new favorite Wilmington restaurant for special occasions. I heartily recommend you try this restaurant if you haven't yet - you will not be disappointed.
We picked a place close to the hotel we stayed at and it was an excellent find. Great French cuisine very diverse menu. Would definitely go back. Highly recommend this place. Our waiter was very good too.
Nice place with a decent menu. Recommend calling ahead to get the specials and if you get good service remember the name for follow on visits. Our service experience was mediocre and the restaurant was out of many of their food and beverage choices.
We love Caprice Bistro
Excellent service and magnificent food, as always.
Absolutely marvelous in every way. Kid-friendly, could order off menu. A plate de jour for Sunday might be fun.
Had a wonderful time. The food, atmosphere and wait staff were terrific. Will be going back.
Caprice is, was, and always will be our very favorite restaurant for any occasion. The food, service and ambiance are all stellar to say the least.
Great food. Cute atmosphere. Would deff go back
Great traditional French dining. The House specialty is wonderful. The wine list is extensive.
We were greeted warmly be the hostess/owner. Started as a lovely evening celebrating a holiday tradition with friends. Drinks arrived one at a time. One taking more than 10 minutes to get, then not right. Service was slow. Our food was delivered sporadically as well. Though the service was slow (with many empty tables) our server rushed us out for the next reservation arrived “early”. If only she had been that attentive to us as well.
The restaurant was lovely. The atmospheres was perfect. The meal was splendid. hope to try it again.
Escargot and mussels delicious as always
Our food was delicious. We had the seafood medley and the beef bourgignon. Great cocktail and wine but slow to deliver them. They should extend their curtain in the front to spare diners from the cold draft every time the front door opens.
Caprice never disappoints. The food , the service, the ambiance. Love, love, love this restaurant.
One of wilmingtons hidden gems. Consistently delicious, nice wine list, great staff.....weekly specials....I had the sheepshead with shrimp,my husband had the beef Bourgogne, and a fried had the Carolina Trout......absolutely delicious....this has been our go-to restaurant for many years and we've never been disappointed. One word of caution, their bread is so delicious that you could make a meal on that with a good gravy.....
One of Wilmington's better restaurants. Excellent location. The quality of the food was very good and they had a nice wine list.
This was a business meeting.
Wonderful experience! Collin was a very attentive but non invasive server! Will definately go again!
Great food and service
Food was superb. Had the pork chop. Very tender. Wonderful blend of flavors with the vegetables
Came in a few minutes early for a 7:30 reservation and still was seated promptly. Experienced friendly server. A couple of regulars were seated next to us and provided lots of suggestions and info about establishment and had a a lively bantor with their server. Can't wait to return.
Excellent food. Excellent wine. Excellent service.
Absolutely our favorite in a city full of wonderful restaurants.
We went to Caprice Bistro with friends on a weeknight. We had reservations. As soon as we were seated we were given water. Drink orders were taken and came quickly. My only complaint was that we really felt as if we were being rushed. The salads came within minutes of placing our order. We he waiter stopped by multiple times to take our order and we felt a bit pressured. Once the entrees arrived we made an effort to slow things down and the waiter finally got the message. The restaurant was not overly crowded and there were empty tables. Other than feeling rushed we had a delightful and delicious meal.
Reservation available as requested. Menu varied and special was excellent. Service was helpful and concerned. Prices were reasonable.
Loved the food here. Had amazing authentic French food.
Great plump mussels ! Good attentive service and not very noisy
I frequent Paris often and can honestly say this was a delicious authentic meal made with fresh ingredients!
We will be definitely dining here again when we visit Wilmington again! Merci beaucoup :)
Excellent Service was second to none. Food and appetizers were excellent. Sevice was excellent. Overall great dining experience. Will be back
Caprice Bistro is a favorite! Mussels and cheese crepe are the best around!
Returned to one of our Wilmington favorites. We eat here about once a month. They have the best mussells in Wilmington and pom frits are special. The salade chicon is always great. We normally sit downstairs but this time got an upstairs table near the window. The bench seat was low and a bit awkward for my partner to reach her plate.
Excellent!! Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back if in Wilmington.
