Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.
Caprice is one great restaurant and always provide excellent food. Fresh fish tonight and easy parking make it a downtown gem. Try it and see. We love Caprice and you will too.
The food was prepared perfectly, not too heavily sauced, nothing over- or under-cooked and flavored beautifully. Our server, Michelle, was gracious and helpful! Not great for my elderly parents’ access - though they enjoyed it and will “brave” it again - but doable.
Our group of 4, had escargot, crepes Jardin (which 2 people shared) and pate. All were wonderful. Entrees were rabbit in a light creamy mustard sauce (wed's special), pork tenderloin, and 2 orders of beef bourgogne. All was served at a nice hot temperature, although the pork tenderloin could have been more pink., but nevertheless delicious. We sadly were too full dessert. Only 1 in our party had 2 glasses of the fine house wine. The bill for each couple was $62 and $82 without tip. We felt the quality was well worth the price. Service was excellent.
The ambience is charming and wonderful, the food is authentically French and delicious, and the value is better than most. I highly recommend it.
This was my second visit. Even better than the first.
The profiteroles [3!] are wonderful. Easily shared with two friends.
The French version of the Caprese salad was so good.
I wish I could go every week, but I live 3 hrs. away.
It's Wilmington on the Cape Fear; it could be Paris on the Seine
Very disappointed in our waiter, who I've had now for the second time. Somewhat arrogant and never said thank you or goodbye after taking our money. I'll spare him the embarrassment of mentioning his name
Excellent food, nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!
Enjoyed every bite. The wine recommendations were great. It was our anniversary - very memorable!
Perfect date-night location especially on the second floor! Our server was very courteous and patient and the food was phenomenal.
Our favorite restaurant. Great specials. Know guests will walk away impressed!
Thank you for promoting the idea of great food and great service !
Excellent!! Would make a meal out of the escargot..yum. salads are amazing. Entrees are all delicious
Can't go wrong! Enjoy
Lovely spot - everything was excellent. Nice to have a good French spot fir dinner!
It was a great meal. The lamb and fish were perfectly prepared. The waiter and server were terrific. The bread was outstanding. The only down side were the two people two tables over who thought everyone wanted to hear their self indulgent and boring conversation. It was not a fault of the dining room, but two loud mouths.
We have always loved this place but the past two times (within the last six months) we have been disappointed. First disappointment was changes to dishes we always ordered but not noted in the menu or "changed" at tableside; this time the menu reflected the changes so I didn't order the arugula salad, and the pasta dish lacked taste and was dry.
Always wonderful and consistent in quality of food and service
Fantastic food and the staff is very friendly and helpful in recommending dishes
The escargot were to die for, and the waterzooi was the best I've ever had. We had a wonderful meal.
Really good food in a comfortable atmosphere. Excellent and knowledgeable wait staff.
I got the chicken ballotine as an entree and the profiteroles for dessert......both amazing! Great presentation and packed full of flavor! I’d say it’s my favorite fancier restaurant to eat at downtown!
Recommend with reservations. Usually we are pleased with our experiences here . However, the two fish specials were not well seasoned and somewhat dry and bland. Over time , the wine list has gotten boring -- not a lot of thought and creativity for sure. With the right direction, the owners could present an interesting selection at a fair price. ( We were told the wine list had just been updated --ugh ) .
Kimpton is the best server EVER!
We were in visiting from out of town & brought local family & friends who had not yet been here. Reviews are accurate. Everyone loved their meals and service was very good. The locals plan to come back, and this restaurant is definitely going in our travel log to recommend to friends and visit again.
Beautiful and cozy. Definitely a place to go treat yourself if you're not only craving French food, but the intimacy and ambience of a bistro. Everyone working here was so pleasant and lovely. Excited to go back soon!
Great food and selection! One person in our party had a side dish of pasta which was cold. He asked the bus person to help him but was told, in a terse manner, not now too much food is coming out. However, our waitress handled it with aplomb. All in all a good experience. I got an appetizer and could not finish my entree. Portions are good.
Awesome food, atmosphere and evening with good friends.
Food was very good. Chef accommodated special requests and made us feel welcome. Portions were appropriate for both men and women. Service was attention and not overbearing.
Guests from Virginia joined us for a suburb dinner - and drinks. Caprice is our favorite fine dining restaurant.
As always, food was superb and service excellent. Caprice Bistro remains our go-to for special occasions
We ate at Caprice Bistro a couple days ago and loved it! The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. We have been looking for a place that we could consider "our place" and I think we have found it. Can't say enough good things about it.
Varied and unique menu. The service was superb. I had the Tagine Spiced Lamb Shanks which was wonderful.
We went to Caprice Bistro on Sunday, April 28 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was excellent! Great cheese plate, delicious entrees. The only negative was the person who ordered chicken liver pate asked for a couple of croutons to finish the plate, & was told there would be a additional charge! To me, that was very poor customer service. Also the courses were served too quickly--we felt rushed. It was a slow night customer wise. Service good be improved! Food was memorable!
First back in months. Not disappointed. As always, food was outstanding, service perfect, and Patricia (the owner ) recommended an excellent wine for our evening. Best night we have had in a long time
Lovely restaurant. Fabulous food and atmosphere. Cannot wait to dine here again!
Service was quick despite a full house. We appreciated that because we had tickets to the Wilson Center for that night. Food was very good and the house wines are a very good value.
Caprice is my favorite restaurant in downtown Wilmington. It consistently meets high expectations. The staff is amazing as is the food!!!!
We have been to Caprice three times in the last month, two times with visitors and one time for a birthday celebration. Each visit was as best as the last. The mussels and frites are amazing. The service is always great and the specials almost always include a dish that someone at the table orders. Caprice is at the top of our list for quality of food, price point and service.
Romantic! It is by far the best restaurant in Wilmington. Was surprised when I moved here that they were the same proprietors of an excellent bistro in New York City that we had been to several times.
