French
Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.

Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.

According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

We had an enjoyable pre-Valentine's dinner at Caprice. Steak Frites were good - although the medium rare steak was more like a medium steak. Dessert was delicious.

Once again, a fabulous dinner experience in the best restaurant in Wilmington NC. A consistent menu with superb European undertones and highly efficient servers makes this restaurant the best of the bests not only in Wilmington but also everywhere else in NC.
The food is delicious, the wine selection is excellent, and the desserts are supreme. I have been in this restaurant numerous times and I had never a bad experience.

We were warmly welcomed immediately upon entering, with a birthday being noted. Service by Jay and Jessica was outstanding; very personable and professional. They, and the excellent meal(s), made for any extremely enjoyable experience. There is only one opportunity to make a great first impression and Caprice certainly hit the mark. We hope to return again soon.

If you like French bistro style food, this is it. Had the menu been in French, we could easily have thought we were in the countryside of France. The owners are equally pleasant.

I have been coming to Caprice Bistro from Raleigh since the first winter it opened. It was incredibly wonderful then and never disappoints. The food is delectable, well prepared, authentic French cooking. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and gracious. Patrice, the owner along with her husband, is always welcoming and accommodating. It is a joy to go to such a delightful spot.
I brought my teenaged son for the first time on Sunday evening and he was blown away by how much he enjoyed the food. Each dish was better than the last and he thanked me repeatedly for bringing him to Caprice.
This is easily the very best restaurant in Wilmington. Thank you!

One of the finest restaurants in NC. It was a cold night out so whenever the door opens the breeze is very uncomfortable... there is a curtain but people pull it back to pass thru and staff doesn't bother to close it. Unfortunate. I think the noise level is a little high for this fine of a restaurant.
The food is absolutely outstanding. The service was very good and the waiter knew the menu and made some very good observations.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary and had a fantastic dinner. Started out with a french martini which was so good. We shared the escargo appetizer and the sauce alone makes you salivate. So yummy. I had the crepes and my husband had the pork tenderloin. The food is fantastic. Had a great time. Thank you all so much. We will be back.

Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had the soup de jour which was a delicious cream of mushroom. My husband got the French onion soup, which I tasted. He liked it but I thought the broth wasn't very rich. More like a chicken stock. I would not order it on another visit. Hubby loved his beef bbourguignon. I had duck Condit a la orange that was a little dry, the potatoes placed under it were tasty but a little greasy, the orange gastric was not very orange or plentiful, The heirloom cherry tomatoes with the salad that's served on the plate were unripe. Plate was also stone cold. Creme broulee was to die for. Chef did a great job caramelzing the sugar too! Hubby loved the triple chocolate mousse! We will definitely go again but I will try something else next time.

Simply the best. Food is spectacular, atmosphere second-to-none, service is top-notch! Went for wife's birthday, as we do every year and it was a great overall experience. She had mussels and I had the Lobster Bisque for starters. Best lobster bisque I have eaten and I have traveled extensively. Main course orders were steak frites and coq au vin. Both exceeded expectations.

We had a reservation at 8:30 . When we arrived, there was just a table available in a busy intersection . The hostess moved us as soon as another table came available. We didn’t even ask . That was very nice . We came about 3 years ago for our birthdays . We loved the food , so we came back this year . We live about 2 hours away . We were very happy we came back . The cocktails we perfect . I got the lobster bisque , and it was good . I got the Chicken Ballotine and my wife got the duck . We were bother very happy . I love the portion sizes . It isn’t too much or too little . We had chocolate cake to end the meal . Thank you . We will see you guys again soon !

Very reminiscent of a real French Bistro. Intimate, close tables however relatively quiet. I would give this a 10 if not for the fact we waited 15 minutes before being acknowledged by our waitress and then another 15 minutes before 2 of the 4 drinks arrived and another 10 minutes (with prompting) for the other two drinks to arrive. Having said that: the drinks were perfect; two cosmos, one manhattan and one rob roy.

The food is excellent, priced accordingly and inventive. Overall we will be back, perhaps asking for a different waitress.

They do a very good job here. The kitchen is outstanding, all the French Classics and Daily Specials. Delicious, but try to save room for Desert.

The Caprice is really two venues, Downstairs is more formal, like a petite NY Brasserie.
Upstairs is more Bohemian, a lively bar, some comfortable, upholstered chairs and couches, and a few nice tables. Early birds can get some half price apps at the bar, and they serve late enough to accommodate diners who attended all but the most self indulgent theatre.

This Family operated, Owners in the house, Bistro will take fine care of you.

We celebrated our 43rd anniversary last week at Caprice Bistro and we had an absolutely lovely evening. The waiter was very attentive and enthusiastic, the food and wine were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, and the restaurant's ambiance was cozy and quiet (we were seated by the front window downstairs). When we met the owner, Patricia, we told her we now have a new favorite Wilmington restaurant for special occasions. I heartily recommend you try this restaurant if you haven't yet - you will not be disappointed.
