Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.
Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.
Seasonal fruit, roasted pine nuts, roquefort, citrus vinaigrette
Braised in red wine sauce, lardons, onions, & mushrooms
Duck Confit (Maple leaf farms)
Artisan salad, potatoes & orange gastrique sauce
The ambiance is perfect. We ate in the sofa bar upstairs. The food is delicious and beautifully plated and the service is impeccable. I hope they will be able to survive the Coronavirus. It truly is a very special restaurant.
Everything was excellent except for the noise. We will be back.
Best restaurant in the city.
This was my first time at Caprice Bistro. The service and food was exceptional. I had mussels which were huge! I also had delicious lobster bisque.
FIrst time dining here. The food was spectacular. Very unique and wonderful dining experience on the second floor. Wonderful value for the quality.
Outstanding food outstanding service great atmosphere.
Great service and delicious food, as always. Caprice never disappoints.
Excellent French cuisine right here in Wilmington NC
We got the best table in the house, next to the window. Our waiter was wonderful, answered all our questions, and made some great recommendations. I had the steak au poivre, and my wife had the mahi mahi. Both were excellent, and the sauces complemented the meals very nicely. We did a dessert sampler that included creme brulee. I an not usually a fan, but this one was superb! Shows what happens when something is really done well! There were so many things on the menu I would like to try. We'll definitely be back!
Introduced folks new to the area to one of our favorite restaurants. They were thrilled with our choice (no surprise)! Excellent food and exemplary service.....as usual.
Caprice Bistro has excellent food and the service is wonderful! Never disappointed!
Small, intimate restaurant. Tables close together, and it can get noisy. However, the service was excellent; and the food was top-notch and reasonably priced.
Pork chops were excellent and the brandy sauce was plate-licking good. Followed up with profilitores for dessert - the 3 mini ice cream filled puffs retained their crunch and the warm chocolate sauce was outstanding. Table spacing is somewhat tight, but it was not crowded this particular evening so all was good. On a busy night I could imagine it being a bit loud and cramped - but after all it is a bistro!
We were delighted to find this charming French restaurant. We both had the Duck Confit- it was cooked perfectly, moist, and with just the right amount of light orange flavor. It was paired with an artisanal salad with Dijon mustard in the dressing, and small red potatoes. Best meal since we returned from France in June last year. Will definitely return!
It started off not so well. We were put downstairs after requesting the much nicer upstairs. We were told it was too busy. We were placed beside a drunken Middle Ages group of women who became louder and louder. We were finally placed upstairs. Much better. Don’t go unless you are upstairs. Downstairs seating was beyond uncomfortable. The waiter upstairs was much better as well. As for the food, it was pretty good but nothing spectacular. Dessert was bland.
Great service and drinks!! Loved the calamari and escargot and French onion soup!
Great food and a nice vibe. The Duck confit, mussels and rabbit sausage app were fantastic.
Wider selection of bourbon and rye would be nice.
Very happy we chose Caprice for our dinner meeting.
Great value and experience for the money.
Excellent salmon and vegetables and profiteroles!
A classic French Bistro with food that is excellent, a knowledgeable wait staff, and ambiance to match. We were four and had rabbit, duck and fish; all were excellent. I love this place and am surprised that I don't think to eat there more often.
First time dining there and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Delcious food and great service.
Wonderful restaurant. A little cold sitting near the door but the food was excellent.
Caprice is consistently good. The menu has a perfect selection of classic french dishes and everything is delicious.
A wonderful neighborhood bistro worthy of the great reviews it gets. A lovely, low-key atmosphere, great food, attentive service -- everything a restaurant should be. Excellent value, too.
We had great dinner and loved everything. Our waiter was great at recommending wine and main meal.
All four adults had different dinner entrees. All four were excellent. The waitress brought two orders of mushroom soup instead of French onion, but they were enjoyed and the waitress apologized with sincerity; and removed the charges as good will. Everything we ate and drank was outstanding! It is the best restaurant in Wilmington.
One of the very best intimate restaurants Wilmington has to offer.
Excellent service and excellent food.
We are novices to French cuisine and wanted to try this spot. Our server was super helpful and had some great suggestions. We tried a number of dishes. Everything was really fantastic and we will be back to try new stuff!
Very nice atmosphere and great food
Everything was amazing, as always. I had the duck and my wife had the chicken coq au vin. Incredible! The service was too notch and they went above and beyond to make our night special.
The food--appetizer, salad, entrees (we both had Waterzooi) were wonderful! We will definitely be back.
The only downsides at all were that the seating is very tight (we were at a table for two on the first floor) and it was fairly loud. We were there relatively early on a Tuesday evening, pre-theatre, so presumably those issues are even more pronounced on weekends and later in the evening. Those attributes take it off the list for romantic evenings or special occasion dining for us.
We went to Caprice Bistro to celebrate my wife’s birthday and could not have been happier with the food, the service and the ambience. We look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
Our new favorite! Food was amazing and service excellent! We will be back very soon and plan to bring friends and family!
We had a great dinner! It was fun and the food was wonderful.
We didn't like sitting so close to the tables on either side that we felt part of their conversation. It was also very noisy. The food was good.
Excellent, as always! Food was great and service very good. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Wilmington and it has become our favorite restaurant.
Great food. Super nice owners. And servers were top notch.
Dinner with friends ! We all(4) had different entrees and they were all exceptional!
Very good, tables kind of. Lose
