Capriccio Ratings and Reviews
This place never disappoints. The atmosphere is sophisticated, cozy and comfortable all at once. The service is friendly and very attentive (these are 'mature' servers....the average server age must be at least 50). The food is perfectly cooked (and don't miss the famous table-side preparation of a couple of their dishes). You'll see dishes on the menu which I've come to expect only at Capriccio, but which are actually old-school Italian dishes (bacala at Christmas, escargot, clams 'Capriccio') along with excellent classics. This is one of those menu's where you feel like you could order anything from the entire menu and be thoroughly pleased w/ your meal.
We enjoyed our first visit to Capriccio. The restaurant was festively decorated, and everyone we encountered was friendly. We struggled with deciding what to order, especially with the abundance of specials that was offered. We had the lobster bisque and the corn chowder, both were delicious. We were surprised with how much lobster was in the bisque. We ordered the paella and the shrimp alla Gino, which was flambé tableside and was absolutely enjoyable. The paella was delicious as well with the largest mussels we have ever seen. The cannoli for dessert was surprising and amazing as I did not expect the tart lemon flavor in the filling. We attend frequent shows in Providence and are always looking for restaurants we know will be a great experience. We will absolutely return. We look forward to our next visit.
I haven't been to Capriccio's in many years. Thinking it would be good to revisit we gave it a try. The food was good but not really memorable-the most important thing obviously. The service was great. The atmosphere could use a bit of a refresh, being careful not to abandon the original feeling.
In summary, it may be more years until we try it again.
Capriccio ‘s is the finest restaurant in the Northeast US.....!!
The food is exceptional, our waiter Dave was terrific, the atmosphere is inviting, romantic and warm. My wife said she wished we had a room in our house that could capture the feeling of the restaurant itself. I told her we would never go out if we did!!
Definitely a must destination for all, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back! So many great choices on the menu to try.
Best regards to the staff.

It was a first visit to Capriccio and we were very happy with the dining experience. The food is very good - from the Escargot and Clams Capriccio (both appetizers) to the Diver Scallops and Pollo Capri (entrees). The service was very good as well and the ambiance is extremely nice. We will definitely return.
I've been eating at Capricco's since 1975 and I am thrilled that it is every bit as good now as it was back then. The food is authentic Italian... fresh seafood...attentive waitstaff. It is one of the most romantic restaurants around. I had scallops with risotto- sweetest scallops and creamy risotto. My boyfriend had Steak Diane - flambé tableside. Both meals came with salads - freshly prepped. He said it was the best meal he's ever had - outstanding! We had dessert since it was his birthday. The chocolate flourless torte and cheesecake were creamy and rich as are all their desserts. We left very fully and content 👏🏻😋
We loved our dinner! We had the Caesar, the scampi and the steak Dianne (and cherries jubilee) made tableside. A treat. Enzo (who did that part) is a treasure and was charming and dear. The Barolo was wonderful and our waitress attentive and responsive. We’ll be back.
Our waiter was absolutely terrific. Food portions very large...you will not go home hungry. Food classically prepared. Ambiance completely chill and romantic ....my girlfriend and I loved it here, will be back again, and will recommend to all. We felt so welcome here...what great hospitality.
We were pleasantly surprised by Capriccio, the pasta is definitely legit and the menu has so much good stuff on it that I don't think anybody wouldn't be able to find something they would like. Only downside, if you can even call it that, was that the tiramisu wasn't as good as some others I've had.
