Great food + great service always. Everything was delicious and the waiters are pleasant, efficient + have a sense of humor.
I gave a slightly lower # of stars because we were seated directly in front of the kitchen doors - even though we had reservations and the place was practically empty our entire time there.
Also, the prices have increased since we were there last. So not the best value, but it's more of a special occasion place anyway.
We came to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and we were very impressed with the overall experience. The service was impeccable and the food was phenomenal. The one critique I had was the potato and vegetable with the Beef Wellington were not served hot; other than that, everything was spot on! The Kobe Carpaccio was one of the best I’ve ever had!
The place is the best, and one of my favorite places, and I’m out 4 to 5 nights a week.
Not sure why i never reviewed this place. But i went for like the 5th time last night. Really not sure how this place is not 5 stars.
Decor - perfect. Went with wife and it a very romantic and homey place. Old school with sinatra in the background. If u are going on a date and want to be romantic, not sure if there is better atmosphere in providence
Food - for apps, wife had lobster bisque and i had burrata special. Both were excellent. For dinner entrees, wife had capellini lobster and I had Veal Chop. Veal chop was amazing. Came with like a medley of potatoes. The wife gets the lobster dish every time we go so safe to say she loves it
Drinks - Had a few glasses of pinot noir. First house one was blah...but then waiter suggested a different one which was fantastic....And finished off with some sambuca and espresso. Fairly priced on beverages
Service - top notch from valet to coat check to waiters
This is a five star restaurant. Only complaint i had is their was no olive oil with my bread and butter! Lol...Anyone who says its not excellent definitely needs to try it out again.
This resteraunt is great to this day. My first experience at this resteraunt was PROM NIGHT Dinner in 1981!!!
HORRIBLE! My previous experiences at Capriccio have all been fabulous with impeccable service and food. I recently got engaged and when my family came in town to celebrate, I thought Capriccio with its intimate atmosphere and attention to detail would be perfect. Oh boy did I eat my words the other night! In my reservation notes, I requested a table by the fireplace. The host tried to seat us in the center of a different room and I politely referenced my request. He acted annoyed and seated us in a corner near the fireplace. Fine by me, however there was dust and what looked to be paint chips all over my place setting which he ignored. I'm not a picky person and don't like to cause a scene so I just brushed it off and we went about our meal. For appetizers, my sister and I were served limp Caesar salads overpowered with dressing, powdered Parmesan, and there was no fresh cracked pepper offered (I watched with envy as other tables were offered this, a basic expectation given the price point and past visits here). My aunt's pathetic salad had zero dressing/toppings, basically just lettuce with a few crumbs thrown on top. I recommended my favorite, the Tenderloin Diane (note: FLAMBE is clearly printed on the menu, not to mention I've had it before). While our tenderloins were cooked table side, there was no sherry and NO FLAMBE...not even a small flame! I scratched my head as I saw the fire show taking place at the table next to us (SAME WAITER - MARIO). My sister's Dover Sole was an inedible soggy mess. She kindly told Mario she didn't care for it (there was more than half of it left on her plate) and, rather than apologizing, he scowled and brought us a check for everything. I asked him why the fish was still on there and he argued that she had eaten it. However, he took it off when I asked him to speak with the manager (who NEVER came by our table). Needless to say, our meal was disgusting, the service was horrendous, and I left humiliated. Save your money!
It was just a great meal with a friendly and courteous staff.
The parmigiano risotto was tasteless, the sauce for the Sole Francaise was totally lacking, no idea why he heated it at the table as the fish was cooked in the kitchen, veal and lobster dish, new to menu was terrible, horrible taste, veal tough. When we asked the "sommelier" about a Italian Brunello he shrugged, said he couldn't really say and walked away, I was in shock as we've been going here for 30 years. Very disappointed and at $400.00 for 2 people, which it always was, we won't be returning. Andino's has much better food, Cappriccio has turned into all smoke and mirrors.
Valentine’s Day was a dream here.
Not very polished service
First class restaurant on all points, including the valets outside.
The food was amazing, service was fast and paid attention very well. But he wasn't annoying we had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend this place.
No bettersite for a romantic dinner - perfect for our annual Valentines Day celebration
In some veal dishes it is hard to tell if you actually get real veal (or was is thinly sliced eye-of-the-round beef thinly sliced and slightly overcooked). This dish was good, possibly very good but I am not sure it was veal. At $33. for the plate . . . I should not have this feeling.
Worst experience ever. Bartender insulted me, another waitress, and the governor of rhode island
We have been to Capriccio's many times. The food was very good but the kitchen was extremely slow. Overall this experience was disappointing.
Another amazing meal at Cappricios
Capriccio's never fails to please. It is one of those restaurants that everyone must dine in at least once. It has an aristocratic air to it and most nights you would be hard pressed not to see someone famous or important. Saturday night was no different as Governor Gina Raimondo and her husband were dining just a few tables away. The service is impeccable and the food is thoughtfully prepared and quite delicious. The only disappointment was seeing how sloppily dressed many of the patron's were. It used to have a dress code where men had to wear a jacket and other appropriate clothing and the women as well. There was a table of people wearing not just jeans but jeans with holes in them. There is still something to be said for looking neat.
Excellent as always. Delicious and beautifully-presented cuisine. Service is impeccable.
