Capriccio Ratings and Reviews
Capriccio ‘s is the finest restaurant in the Northeast US.....!!
The food is exceptional, our waiter Dave was terrific, the atmosphere is inviting, romantic and warm. My wife said she wished we had a room in our house that could capture the feeling of the restaurant itself. I told her we would never go out if we did!!
Definitely a must destination for all, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back! So many great choices on the menu to try.
Best regards to the staff.

It was a first visit to Capriccio and we were very happy with the dining experience. The food is very good - from the Escargot and Clams Capriccio (both appetizers) to the Diver Scallops and Pollo Capri (entrees). The service was very good as well and the ambiance is extremely nice. We will definitely return.
I've been eating at Capricco's since 1975 and I am thrilled that it is every bit as good now as it was back then. The food is authentic Italian... fresh seafood...attentive waitstaff. It is one of the most romantic restaurants around. I had scallops with risotto- sweetest scallops and creamy risotto. My boyfriend had Steak Diane - flambé tableside. Both meals came with salads - freshly prepped. He said it was the best meal he's ever had - outstanding! We had dessert since it was his birthday. The chocolate flourless torte and cheesecake were creamy and rich as are all their desserts. We left very fully and content 👏🏻😋
We loved our dinner! We had the Caesar, the scampi and the steak Dianne (and cherries jubilee) made tableside. A treat. Enzo (who did that part) is a treasure and was charming and dear. The Barolo was wonderful and our waitress attentive and responsive. We’ll be back.
Our waiter was absolutely terrific. Food portions very large...you will not go home hungry. Food classically prepared. Ambiance completely chill and romantic ....my girlfriend and I loved it here, will be back again, and will recommend to all. We felt so welcome here...what great hospitality.
We were pleasantly surprised by Capriccio, the pasta is definitely legit and the menu has so much good stuff on it that I don't think anybody wouldn't be able to find something they would like. Only downside, if you can even call it that, was that the tiramisu wasn't as good as some others I've had.
We have dined here numerous times and every time was spectacular except this most recent visit. For starters, we were a party of two and were placed at a table where we were elbow-to-elbow with an adjacent table. I mean ridiculously close. We didn’t feel comfortable having a conversation without whispering so that our neighbors couldn’t overhear us. Next we had a rookie server who was very pleasant but very green. She could not answer our question about whether a substitution could be made without checking with a supervisor. Service was very slow. One of our entrees was a beef dish ordered medium and came out quite rare. A manager never came over to address our concerns. When we were able to flag down someone to express our displeasure, we were offered a free desert. I don’t know what was going on for so many things to go wrong. As stated at the beginning, we have always been very pleased at this establishment. We have celebrated our anniversary here for the last few years. Anniversary dinner number 43 was not up to par. We will return because of excellent past experiences. Had this been our first visit, we would likely not return.
My daughter picked this for her birthday
We were sitted in a tight corner
Our waiter was very good. And personable
I think there were 2 difficult tables at the same time. With crazy demands. He was jumping threw hoops. For them. And took away from us a little
And I asked for a cake. He asked whose birthday and we confirmed it. We asked for coffee. And no cake. ?
But we enjoyed our dinner. Have to admit a little disappointed

We had a party of six on a Saturday night and we were sat way in the back in smaller dining room, with no ambience what so ever. Our waiter was very good, attentive, but after one hour we still hadn't received any of our apps or salads. When I asked, he said, "There are 300 people in the restaurant and they are doing the best they can and they are taking the tickets in the order they get them. It's going to be a while." When we did get our food it was good.
We spoke to the Owner/Manager when we left about it and he offered after dinner drinks, but we had already paid and were on our way out. I don't think he really cared. Again, the food was good and the waiter nice, but there are so many other restaurants in Prov that I would go to before this one.
An evening at Capriccio's is quite impressive. Dinner last week was excellent. We chose what I consider a basic but consistently good bottle of American Cabernet, which we found to be excellent but overpriced. Beginning with the squash flowers was exciting as I love them but both my husband and I tasted more of the batter than the squash flowers. Our main entrees, the Sirloin au Poivre and the Braised Short Rib special were both deemed to be perfection as was the service. Desserts were" liquid" as we were full. The Chocolate Martini and Lemon Drop Martini were good, but not memorable. I felt that the chocolate martini was in need of more of a rich chocolate texture and flavor. It is definitely the service and the entrees that constituted our satisfaction.
I have been celebrating special occasions at Capriccio for years. However my last dinner was a totally negative experience. The food was mediocre at best, burrata and grilled peaches with a rock hard peach, tasteless accompaniments to our main courses, and one dessert that was inedible and sent back. Nobody came over to apologize or offer something to replace it. I asked to speak to the manager who seemed unconcerned about my complaints. He offered an after dinner drink although the rest of my family had already gone to their car. I will not be returning.
