If you're in the mood for some hearty Italian food that's homemade using fresh ingredients, you won't want to miss Capriccio Saratoga. The ambiance is welcoming and you can choose to dine outdoors on the patio on a beautiful day. Start off your visit with an appetizer, such as eggplant with four cheeses, a pear salad or wood roasted oysters.
Capriccio Saratoga also has an array of pizza selections each prepared in the Neapolitan tradition. Options include margherita, shrimp, calabrese and proscuitto and egg. The restaurant also offers sit-down courses, including several pasta dishes. If you're looking for something filling, try one of the main courses. Capriccio Saratoga has chicken positano, pork chop peperonata and fresh seafood selections daily.
Price fixe menu. Great flavor on delmonico steak, but some toughness in the cut. Frutta de mare was great, rigatoni was not, the broccoli rabe was quite bitter. Cheesecake and cloudless chocolate cake were super rich, very good.
Another great meal. We had to get one last visit in before they closed. As expected, it did not disappoint.
Nice experience. Good pizza. Will return often. Nice neighborhood.
There were 5 of us in my group and we all ordered different pizzas. We enjoyed everything we ate! There is a lot of variety in the menu and we've already talked about returning to try some of the pastas. We heard a rumor that this location (Saratoga Springs) may not be open for much longer. Hope it's not true!
Ordered a Cosma and was asked "if Absolute OK?" I of course said yes, and thought "great". When the bill came we were charged $4 upcharge for "top shelf"vodka. Long wait between apps and main course. When we inquired about our pizza after a long wait, we were told it was dropped on the way to the oven and had to be remade. Poor service. Blah atmosphere.
The service uncomfortable. The server came to our table at least 5 times asking us if we were ready to order and we had are menu's open. We ordered the special which was not available.
When she poured water she announced she was doing it. When we said no to something she would frown. She made us feel like we were being rushed out. She was just awful!
The pizza sauce was acidic and doughy. The Scrimp was grilled well but on top of Pastina?
The oven roasted chicken was way overcooked, the Delmonico was cooked properly but quite fatty & the wine list way over priced.
Capriccios is always a great choice. The selection is not run of the mill. Preparation and presentation are always top shelf. The service is always impeccable-like in Italy. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
My party of 4 arrived for our 715pm reservation on time. Our table wasn't ready until 730pm. It's a cozy Italian restaurant in a quiet area. Seating is limited. Parking is tough in the surrounding area. The salads were large enough to share. The main courses were ample sized (not overly large) and very tasty. The pasta dishes included some old favorites and some creative ideas. The desserts were quite good. We shared these also. It became a fun, relaxing experience at this small Italian bistro type restaurant.
We travel to Saratoga Springsas our son and our niece attend Skidmore college and were looking for a casual but nice place to have pizza and pasta with them and a middle school age child. Even though we have been dining in Saratoga Springs for a couple of years, we had never tried Capriccio Saratoga, but were thrilled with the experience. The service was great, the atmosphere was incredibly comfortable, and the food was quite good. We will be back and would recommend it highly.
We took out clients to dinner here first time visit. The food and service was top notch. a great find and must try
This was the second time I brought business associates to this locale, and we were all impressed both times. We will be back.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. On a recent Saturday night in September, the wait was about 45 minutes without a reservation -- the restaurant is small. But the food is delicious and was worth the wait. We had roasted vegetables as appetizer, totally recommend. The warm bread, served with sweet balsamic vinegar and/or olive oil bottles on the table, was a treat. I had the rigatoni with meat ragu, which was hearty and excellent, I couldn't finish because I'd filled up on bread and veggies. Would definitely come here again.
We did family style this second visit. Fresh yellow beet salad with Gorgonzola, followed by a hot baked margarita pizza with a ricotta stuffed crust, and almost finally the special ravioli which was spinach and artichoke hearts with a light, fresh tomato sauce. For dessert we shared an orange ricotta cheesecake which we all loved with tasty coffee. Overall, a solid wonderful meal shared by 3 friends meeting together in Saratoga!
We loved the food and the exceptional attention given to us by our waitress Taylor. Our food came out with minimal wait time. We felt like we were at our neighborhood restaurant. The Fig Pizza and the Strawberry salad was delicious.
Had a delicious rabbit dish and a linguini and seafood. Both ample and well prepared. Good italian food in Saratoga!
The dinner was delicious, the service very good, the ambiance just right...a perfect end for a day at the races.
Enjoyed the experience. Would go back.
With Traver's weekend flooded with visitors getting an early sat reservation was nearly impossible. We took a chance on a restaurant none of us knew anything about. The chiopinio was excellent and for those looking for a delicacy like smelts, you wont be dissapointed. I give this restaurant 2 thumbs up! The place is little small so get a reservation for they book up.
Nice little family-run Italian restaurant tucked away from the madding crowds of downtown Saratoga Springs. Very good specialty pizzas at a reasonable price. Try the octopus appetizer-- not at all chewy as typical, very tasty!
Prosciutto and fig pizza
Perfecto can't imagine there is a place anywhere that can do better
Super food..menu with a very nice variety of southern and northern italian cuisine.
Although small..a wonderful ambiance!
We look forward to the Italian restaurants in saratoga. This one was a good experience
Thanks for a great meal with excellent service
The staff were pleasant and very accommodating of our different food requests, but the food was mediocre and over-priced; for example the eggplant in tomato sauce dish was $28. Our bill was very high and somehow we got charged twice on our credit card and only realised when we checked our statement.
This restaurant was not at all what I expected. I ordered the smelts and they were too salty and overdone. The pizza was not very good and the meatballs were just ok. Our server was great though . The drinks had to be brought back twice and were not what we ordered. ( blood orange margarita) we got some basil cucumber drink instead. Not a good experience
Cozy, warm Italian restaurant serving some of the best pasta dishes made with Imported Italian pasta . Personal favorites are Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca and the Pasta with Sepia. Nightly specials usually include a seafood/fish dish, which is cooked perfectly. Service is attentive without being intrusive, staff is helpful and one never feels neglicated or rushed.
Had the grilled vegetable appetizer. It was wonderful.
Their pizzas are great. Had the prosciutto and egg pie. It was soo flavorful.
Several new staff members on hand the night we went for a drink, salad and pizza. Friendly and very capable.
This review is late, but no less sincere because of it! Loved our meal, great service, a lovely spot to celebs our anniversary in April. This small gem is a special place in a town full of restaurants. So glad we chose this one!
My father and I made last minute reservations for Easter and we weren't disappointed. The dinner specials were right out of the Easter Sunday meals we had as a family; from the lamb chops to the slow roasted pork and potatoes.
The menu choices were delightful and our choices were seasoned to perfection. Although the restaurant is small inside we did not feel crowded. Service was warm and friendly and well versed in the menu.
My wife loves Capriccio spaghetti, I had two small plates - greens and beans, dried meat platter. They have a corking fee so we were able to bring a favorite wine. Service was very good. Overall a very nice dining experience, consistent with previous visits.
Attentive and excellent service. Nice appetizer, help with wine selection and the bartenders makes a fine martini. The main courses we selected came out hot and generous. We'll return. -135
A fun place to go as a couple. We also enjoy dining here with friends.
We had dinner on 1/10 for a 7:00 Reservation for a party of 4. We arrived at 6:45 to be told the table was not ready and if we would like to have a drink at the bar, that are table was getting ready to leave so they could reset for us. We all ordered a drink and before you know it, it was 7:45 and we were still sitting there. The Restaurant had open tables at the time that were available, and had 2 tops that could have been made a 4 top, but we still waited. As I said we sat at 7:45, ordered our Dinner. The appetizer, the oysters were as small as a dime!! My friend and I along with my husband had the Pasta Pomodoro that had no taste and was just bland. The forth person had a Steak that was good in taste but cold. We aso sat near a winow that we froze all night we had to leave our coats on until we asked for the heat to be turned up so we could enjoy the end of our meal. Which was a great idea because it worked and it just wasn't because of the window. I have enjoyed your Restaurant for the last 3 years. And honestly I have never had a bad meal or complaint. And have suggested it to many people, and even enjoy eating at the bar. The staff is always friendly and responsive. On this night I don't know what happened, if your kitchen staff changed or what. Will I come back and try it again YES. AND WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. Thanks for your time
While my husband's rigatoni and sausage was very good and my pear salad average, it took an hour for us to be served our entrees. Maybe that doesn't sound outlandish, but others were served and getting up to leave before we were served. I believe the server forgot to submit our orders. In addition, my friend's dinner was very dry. Sorry, I would not recommend
Overall pleasant experience. Good quality food, though not outstanding in terms of preparation or complexity. Server was friendly and attentive; we never felt rushed. We all wished the bread was served warm.
Our first visit left us liking everything about the restaurant. The food was cooked perfectly, both the smelts and main course fish where excellent, and the Spaghetti Alla Vongole was some of the best I have had. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere with very good service. All of this put it on our top 10 list for Saratoga
The restaurant was always upscale, intimate atmosphere with great food. The food is still great, however, the atmosphere is not the same. extremely loud laughter at the tables and loud talking at the tables was rather distracting. The wait staff was fine, but, lacked the polish of past wait people.
Red sauce not special but seafood fresh. Salad good particularly arugula
Our rowing team had a wonderful dinner. The staff were gracious and accommodating.
