First I booked a reservation using OpenTable. I know from past experiences that Capriccio Grill gets pretty busy- seating fills fast so having a reservation works best for me--Upon entering the Peabody Hotel- I did valet which is complimentary if you're dining in at Capriccio Grill (as long as you get your parking ticket stamped by the hostess at Capriccio) the valet did inform me of restaurant renovations whereas the location/kitchen had been moved temporarily to Chez Phillipe which will be closed for about two weeks during renovations -- so I thought well as long as the food is yummy I'll still keep my reservation and go ahead- I was greeted by a friendly hostess (who offered to stamp my valet ticket:)) I said thank you and was seated- the waiter then approached poured water and asked if I wanted anything other than water. Water was fine and I then let him know that I know exactly what I wanted to eat- he took my order and returned with a basket variety of breads with butter-- my order was brought out in about 30 minutes (Fish was fried well and hot :)) the BlackEyed Peas were lukewarm and I was excited to taste the greens but they were too salty and inedible. I've ordered this exact meal before so I know what I was looking forward to eating. So the Greens were a FULL MISS and the Fish was a YES I'll try it again

I visited the restaurant with my daughter. We ordered the crispy ravioli, a pizza, and a steak along with a couple of drinks. The crispy ravioli came out luke warm with minimal stuffing and luke warm marinara. The pizza, while hot, was not edible to my 8 year old. The cheese slid off the crust and she did not touch it again. The steak was a decent quality but also luke warm. My Malbec tasted as if it had been open for a few days although waiter stated it was a new bottle. My daughters Shirley Temple hardly contained cherry juice and no cherry. At the end of the meal, the waiter did remove the pizza off the bill but no manager came over to ask about our experience. I feel the Peabody Hotel should have a much higher quality experience given the prestige of this hotel. Unfortunately, I will not return for breakfast or dinner and I will find alternate restaurants to dine.

We made reservations at The Peabody for an overnight stay for a special Christmas/Birthday Celebration for my father who was turning 80. We had family fly in from different locations to celebrate, Florida, and Kansas. We could only get reservations at 8:30 on Christmas Day after many phone calls and in person requests to try to get earlier reservations, because our father was handicapped. I was told that they would contact us as soon as possible. I never received a phone call back from anyone, after I was told to go back to our room and they would have someone call us. We finally gave up went to dinner at 8:30, got to our table and only 4 other tables were being severed. Waiter came to the table and ask us for our dinner order, never asked for drinks, finally after many tries we placed our drink order but did not get it til after our dinner was served . We asked for napkins and we were told they were slammed, didn’t we know it was Christmas? They did not have any napkins left, we personally went to the restroom to get our own paper towels to dine with. The only reason I’m giving the food a 2 is because my father liked his turkey dinner. Every one else ordered steak and it was fatty and over cooked. The only thing that was good was the wedge salad. Also no mention of his birthday, was told he got desert with his Christmas dinner. Horrible experience and we will not go back.

Not as advertised. We were looking for something easy since we were staying in the hotel, but nice and delicious, too. It was Christmas dinner, but the website didn’t mention a different menu for that night, and the menu items seemed very good. There WAS a pre-set menu, though a few items were available separately. The food was okay, not great, and the room seemed more suited to breakfast than a nice dinner.

We heard that the restaurants at The Peabody did the best Christmas spread in town, and they did not disappoint. They had a set Christmas menu at a very reasonable price and we really enjoyed our meal. Our server, Douke, really helped make our night and dinner amazing. He especially helped when it came to the wine list.

My husband and I were in town for the holidays and they had an opening. We were planning on visiting the Peabody anyway. But we were both very impressed! They had a special holiday menu option which I had the turkey and dressing, husband had the ham. Both were EXCELLENT. The service was great. Would highly recommend!

Number one was the service. It was excellent! Attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent!
I liked that they asked if we'd like bread, rather than just plopping a basket of bread on the table that we would have filled up on. It wasn't cheap, but not over the top either.
my only complaint is the lighting. It felt more like a cafeteria than a fine dining room simply because of the overhead lights. If they fixed that, 5 stars!!

My experience was mediocre. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. They didn’t seem very busy, but service was slow. The kids cheese pizza was $10. It was huge. No kid could eat anywhere near that much pizza. I would have rather paid $5 and received half of the pizza.

Our experience was such that we are not sure we will eat here again. The service was extremely slow for a restaurant that was not full. To pay $3 for a rather small glass of tea and not have it refilled was ridiculous. The salmon taco was mediocre at best and the side tomato salad was not edible. It was entirely too salty and too much pepper. Neither one of us could eat it. The reuben sanwhich was good as was the fries that came with it. But, we won't be making the extra effort to drive a half and hour, pay $12 to park to eat at Capriccio Grille.

Best lunch bargain in downtown Memphis. You can't beat the design your own pasta with the soup and salad bar.

Thus was our second time taking an out of town group to eat at the Cappriccio. The service was excellent and the steaks, lamb and the appetizers were good. The pasta dishes and the sides were not very good.

We had a great evening! All staff from front to kitchen were fantastic. However, in my reservation through Open Table, under special requests, I asked for a single red rose at the table. This was not done and my request was not acknowledged by the restaurant or Open Table. Since my daughter and I were attending The Phantom Of The Opera, I thought the rose would have been a nice touch. All considered, we will continue to eat at Capriccio’s as opportunities present themselves and will recommend to others. If special requests are needed in the future, I will reach out to Jay to personally verify that requests are received and will be accommodated.

This was the worst dining experience of my 40 years. It actually became a joke with our 4 person group about how bad it was. Every step of service from the server greeting, to drink service, to the courses were extremely slow. Our 3 course, prix fix dinner took almost 2 and a half hours to complete. The ladies split one bottle of wine. My friend and I each had 2 cocktails. We had to physically get up from our table and search around a server station to get our own spoons to eat our soup. This is after asking the food runner for spoons upon the soups delivery. He never returned until our entrees were delivered. The entrees were flavorless and lukewarm. The dessert was a Heathbar cheesecake which was delicious. I assume that was outsourced by a third party. The staff truly couldn't care less about us. When we received the bill I understood why. 20% automatic gratuity was included on our bill. I am employed as a server at another higher end restaurant in the city. When you are lucky enough to work somewhere that applies automatic gratuity you have a responsibility to provide at least adequate service to justify your guaranteed tip. Sunday brunch is good because you serve yourself. Otherwise don't bother. There are too many outstanding options in the city to ever consider this place. I feel sorry for the tourists and hotel guests that get suckered into going to this pitiful establishment.

The flavors of the food were amazing , compliments to the chef. However, the portions were enough for 3 people, very disappointed the server did not mention sharing the side dishes to the entree’s. They were proportioned like that of Ruth Chris which clearly are for sharing . There was much food wasted, which is always a disappointment.

The lighting in the restaurant is unusually bright for fine dining. It had more the atmosphere of s chain restaurant like Olive Garden. I saw many guests wearing shorts and flip flops to dinner. The food was good. It didn't blow me away. The whipped potatoes that come with the steaks tasted like it came out of a box. We split an appetizer, ordered two drinks, we both had steaks and one additional side. No dessert. The bill came to a whopping $170 with tip.

Food was very good and the steaks were cooked to perfection. I was not a fan of the glaze they put on the Capriccio Special but that is not their fault. The service was very friendly, but very slow. It took forever to get drinks and then our waiter disappeared after taking the order. The price was fair for the food served, but the restaurant itself could use a makeover. It is outdated and doesn't feel like a nice restaurant, it feels like a Sunday buffet place (which I know is awesome)

The Peabody is an absolutely beautiful hotel with lots of character. The restaurant was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The service was excellent. We went there for breakfast, and I ordered the french toast, but the bread was a little tough. If the bread was a bit softer, then I think I would have enjoyed it a little more. My husband had the pancakes, and they weren't very good - a little tough, too. But he loved the breakfast potatoes, and I loved the cheese grits. I would definitely go back. And seeing the Peabody ducks was great fun, as well.

This place is no more than an expensive, glorified coffee shop. Food was subpar and service was very poor. My wife and I waited at least 20-25 minutes before drinks were delivered to our table and then told they did not have the particular brand of bourbon I asked for so, another 10 minute wait. We each ordered an appetizer and within 5 minutes our main courses were brought out while we hadn't finished our first course. Waitress suggested taking our food back and placing it in a heating tray. At this point we realized this was going to be a long night. We decided to deal with the situation, write a review and save anyone else from making the mistake of reserving a table here.
