The staff was very friendly and helpful. Service was excellent, and the quality of food and drink was very good. The only complaint I have is that it looks like the wine was very overpriced. It appears I can get the same bottle that I paid $65 for their elsewhere for $20. That would be my only complaint.
The food was amazing. Highly recommend the Lobster bisque. The service, not so great. Maybe he was having an off night. He got several things wrong as far as who was wording what and he disappeared for a LONG stretch of time when the main course was coming out. Thankfully two ladies came by to check on us so my wife could order a second glass of wine. I thought for a minute I was going to have to get up and go find the bar so that she could have wine with her main course. Hope you have better luck of the draw than we did with your waiter.
The service was outstanding as were the drinks. My Shrimp and pesto pasta was covered in heavy pesto sauce, the pizza was average. The crab cake appetizer was good
FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 2018
Out with my little one and I wasn't going to let the rain keep us from enjoying TGIF (of course Thank God it's Friday)
I went online to see what was available for a good ole hearty breakfast which lead me to Capriccio Grill located inside the historic Peabody Hotel in Downtown, Memphis Tennessee
Angela checked us in at the hostess stand and Mia waited on us - Great customer service ladies really a great job indeed!
The 3 egg omelette was yummy!
Keep up the great work!!
Shay was a phenomenal manager! Thank you for your attentive hospitality.
Went for Sunday brunch, good selection of food, breakfast, lunch and dessert, unlimited mimosas, service was just ok
It’s been a while since we’d been to this restaurant and we thought it’d be a central point for the family to gather. Our waiter, Gia(?), was outstanding and the petite filet was very good. The side dishes, creamed spinach and Brussel sprouts were a disappointment compared to other steak houses we frequent. Also, the prices were a little high compared to other restaurants close by. Since there were many empty tables on a Friday night, other people going downtown to eat may have had similar thoughts.
Poor service and cold food.
Friendly service. Husband's steak was very good. My ravioli was definitely not. Salads were fresh and tasty. Waitress was kind enough to take the inedible ravioli of the bill. Nice dinner before a show at the Orpheum
The food and service was great, it was truly a night to remember.
Food was good. The service was terrible.
Had to wait over 20 minutes with dirty dishes on the table and for the check.
We were late to our show.
The food was great. So was our server. I didnt care for the calamari but everything else was delicious. Especially the gnocchi. And my veal chop. My girlfriend liked her spaghetti.
It was expensive but the service/ambience was great as well as portion size so it wasnt pretentiously expensive like some new places.
Always outstanding service & food!!
The restaurant was nice and servers very good. I was disappointed in the food. We didn’t have a choice to order off the menu, only the breakfast buffet. I had seen the menu online and was looking forward to ordering from it. Had I wanted a buffet, I would have gone to the Sunday Brunch. With that said, I was excited about the grits as they looked like the good southern style; however, they tasted scorched. The scrambled eggs were also poor tasting.
Bad service. Waiter came only twice to our table. No bread for us. I had to get up to ask for a drink for my wife!
Had to make the reservations last minute. I saw only a 3 Star rating when making my reservation on Open Table - but I don't always pay attention to that. Brandy our waitress was excellent - the food was very reasonably priced and very tasty. Unique dishes on the menu . I drive 90 miles to Memphis about once a month and when I come I try to eat at a different restaurant each time. I will definitely be coming back. Very family friendly also - which I like. Thanks Brandy and the Chef!!
On the road from Chicago to New Orleans, overnight in Memphis. Only place we could get a 7pm reservation. Back in the day Peabody must have been quite classy. Now a tired old hotel with a restaurant that you would expect. The waitress was great!
It was great! Food was great, everything was great!!
I thought it was going to be more than it was. The food was mediocre for the price. My husband said he had better chicken parmesan at Olive Garden. I ordered the Valentine menu. My oyster prosecco soup came with one small oyster in a bowl of soup. The poached lobster was decent on a bed of noodles that had to come pre-made. Definitely not fresh. The best thing was the dessert. It was lovely. Then they automatically charge you 20% gratuity.
Food was good and thanks for the manager for getting roses for our date. Thanks
Late dinner after getting in to Memphis at the Peabody hotel. Good food and excellent wine and service
Great food and great service in a comfortable, quiet setting. The prices are reasonable.
We love it and eat there whenever we visit Memphis.
I eat here frequently, and although expensive is worth it. However, this time was different. My husband ordered the special: a filet mignon with brussels sprouts and I ordered pan seared fish. Our dinners were served in reasonable time, and my fish was excellent. My husband's meat was so undercooked it was nearly raw and the brussels sprouts were not cooked at all. They were cold, like right out of the refrigerator! The server took his meal back for additional cooking; I had to eat mine or it would be cold. Thus, we spent over $150 to eat in shifts, and they never did get my husband's meal correct. Emerging the second time, his meat was slathered with butter and overcooked and the brussels sprouts warmed but not cooked. He was very unhappy.

I reserved Table seating via OpenTable app for two at 11:30a Saturday- upon entering was greeted by front hostess and seated immediately following
The waitress was sweet her name was Jasmine- she inquired about beverages and if any appetizers were needed
I ordered the fried catfish with greens and black eyed peas- it came with hush puppies and tarter sauce
The entire meal was exactly how I remembered and I'm glad I came back to reorder one of my favorite dishes on their menu
I'm happy to say that all the food was seasoned properly- nothing was overly salty- the greens were so tasty 😋:) I did add pepper sauce and vinegar to my greens
The fish 🐟 was fired well and the batter was flavorful- I added squeezed lemon 🍋 on the fish- it was 3 plated pieces of fried catfish
Applauding the chef that treated fish, the peas and greens with southern love- Keep up the great work! :))

First I booked a reservation using OpenTable. I know from past experiences that Capriccio Grill gets pretty busy- seating fills fast so having a reservation works best for me--Upon entering the Peabody Hotel- I did valet which is complimentary if you're dining in at Capriccio Grill (as long as you get your parking ticket stamped by the hostess at Capriccio) the valet did inform me of restaurant renovations whereas the location/kitchen had been moved temporarily to Chez Phillipe which will be closed for about two weeks during renovations -- so I thought well as long as the food is yummy I'll still keep my reservation and go ahead- I was greeted by a friendly hostess (who offered to stamp my valet ticket:)) I said thank you and was seated- the waiter then approached poured water and asked if I wanted anything other than water. Water was fine and I then let him know that I know exactly what I wanted to eat- he took my order and returned with a basket variety of breads with butter-- my order was brought out in about 30 minutes (Fish was fried well and hot :)) the BlackEyed Peas were lukewarm and I was excited to taste the greens but they were too salty and inedible. I've ordered this exact meal before so I know what I was looking forward to eating. So the Greens were a FULL MISS and the Fish was a YES I'll try it again
I visited the restaurant with my daughter. We ordered the crispy ravioli, a pizza, and a steak along with a couple of drinks. The crispy ravioli came out luke warm with minimal stuffing and luke warm marinara. The pizza, while hot, was not edible to my 8 year old. The cheese slid off the crust and she did not touch it again. The steak was a decent quality but also luke warm. My Malbec tasted as if it had been open for a few days although waiter stated it was a new bottle. My daughters Shirley Temple hardly contained cherry juice and no cherry. At the end of the meal, the waiter did remove the pizza off the bill but no manager came over to ask about our experience. I feel the Peabody Hotel should have a much higher quality experience given the prestige of this hotel. Unfortunately, I will not return for breakfast or dinner and I will find alternate restaurants to dine.
Great New Year’s Dinner. Love The Peabody.... food is great and the staff wonderful!
There was nothing remarkable about the breakfast buffet.
The service was fine, but we expected a more memorable meal.
We made reservations at The Peabody for an overnight stay for a special Christmas/Birthday Celebration for my father who was turning 80. We had family fly in from different locations to celebrate, Florida, and Kansas. We could only get reservations at 8:30 on Christmas Day after many phone calls and in person requests to try to get earlier reservations, because our father was handicapped. I was told that they would contact us as soon as possible. I never received a phone call back from anyone, after I was told to go back to our room and they would have someone call us. We finally gave up went to dinner at 8:30, got to our table and only 4 other tables were being severed. Waiter came to the table and ask us for our dinner order, never asked for drinks, finally after many tries we placed our drink order but did not get it til after our dinner was served . We asked for napkins and we were told they were slammed, didn’t we know it was Christmas? They did not have any napkins left, we personally went to the restroom to get our own paper towels to dine with. The only reason I’m giving the food a 2 is because my father liked his turkey dinner. Every one else ordered steak and it was fatty and over cooked. The only thing that was good was the wedge salad. Also no mention of his birthday, was told he got desert with his Christmas dinner. Horrible experience and we will not go back.
Not as advertised. We were looking for something easy since we were staying in the hotel, but nice and delicious, too. It was Christmas dinner, but the website didn’t mention a different menu for that night, and the menu items seemed very good. There WAS a pre-set menu, though a few items were available separately. The food was okay, not great, and the room seemed more suited to breakfast than a nice dinner.
We heard that the restaurants at The Peabody did the best Christmas spread in town, and they did not disappoint. They had a set Christmas menu at a very reasonable price and we really enjoyed our meal. Our server, Douke, really helped make our night and dinner amazing. He especially helped when it came to the wine list.
My husband and I were in town for the holidays and they had an opening. We were planning on visiting the Peabody anyway. But we were both very impressed! They had a special holiday menu option which I had the turkey and dressing, husband had the ham. Both were EXCELLENT. The service was great. Would highly recommend!
Number one was the service. It was excellent! Attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent!
I liked that they asked if we'd like bread, rather than just plopping a basket of bread on the table that we would have filled up on. It wasn't cheap, but not over the top either.
my only complaint is the lighting. It felt more like a cafeteria than a fine dining room simply because of the overhead lights. If they fixed that, 5 stars!!
very small terrible, TONS of fat in the ribeye, Brussel
Sprouts not cooked....very good water though
Went after seeing the Nutcracker Ballet at the Orpheum as a girls’ night. Will definitely return!
My experience was mediocre. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. They didn’t seem very busy, but service was slow. The kids cheese pizza was $10. It was huge. No kid could eat anywhere near that much pizza. I would have rather paid $5 and received half of the pizza.
The restaurant is located in the Peabody Hotel.....the hotel and the restaurant was all decorated up for xmas......If anyone misses seeing the Peabody for Xmas you just miss xmas..
Wonderful Filet , very nice and cozy booth - perfect for a quiet Romantic dinner .
