Capriccio Grill Peabody Hotel - Memphis
Lunch in Capriccio Grill offers a more casual menu of modern Southern comfort favorites and daily specials.
Very good food and excellent service!
My wife and I came in for a nice Sunday dinner while staying at the hotel. The service was very poor. It took over 5 minutes to be greeted by our server after we were seated. The food was slow to arrive, and our server never came back to check on us after our food was delivered. I never got the second drink I asked for either. My food wasn't very hot (wife's was okay), and tasted mediocre. We came in at around 8pm, so being busy wasn't the issue. Sadly, I've had better food and much better service at an Olive Garden. I expected so much more from a restaurant in a nice hotel. We did give it another chance for breakfast the next day (out of convenience more than anything else), and the food and service were much better. So, it's evidently hit or miss.
We found the restaurant to be great for a nice evening, our server was excellent, but we found the food to be mediocre especially for the price. The grits and shrimp were bland, as was the cheesecake. The chicken ravioli wasn't bad but the sauce seemed too sweet and was off putting. My husband did enjoy the chicken pot pie very much. And the antipasto board had good cheese but no olives and the vegetables were overpowering. Ok meal but not for the price
Nothing special about the food, however service was good.
Food was terrible. First and last time. Fish was over doomed, dry. Desserts were worst I’ve ever had. Will not return.
Went for Mother's day event, but ordered off the menu. We thought there was a "brunch", but were incorrect. Unfortunately, the full menu we had looked at online was not available.
There was a four course "special" for $48.50, but was not what we were looking for. We had never been there and are glad we tried it. Our service was outstanding.
Made the reservation for Mother’s Day brunch, only to find out that the reservation was not for the buffet. This may be more of an issue with how Open Table has it listed. At any rate, I paid premium dollars for a limited menu in the grill restaurant, as opposed to the mezzanine level...very disappointing. The service and food were satisfactory.
The overall experience was UHmazing. Will definitely recommend and revisit.
Really disappointed in Capriccio. The restaurant needs to close for a week for a deep clean. The chair fabric is stained and the table tops which are split level are dirty and the we found traces of previous diners food lodged between the levels. While the restaurant is closed the wait staff could be trained properly and the chef? Could be thought flow to cook a simple piece of fish. I brought my complaint to the attention of the restaurant manager but I’m not sure he wanted to hear, he just wanted me to go away
This was the most amazing brunch I’ve ever had to date! The variety of foods to choose from was overwhelming. I came for waffles and decided on Prime Rib and calamari. Everything from the fruit to the desert pastries was just divine! I’ll certainly be back on my next visit to Memphis!
Food was good, service was good. Price was just a bit overdone.
My wife and I arrived at the Peabody and got to the restaurant after traveling for 8.5 hours. Our waitress was pleasant. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, our food and a salad as an appetizer. We received our salad in a timely manner.. Then we waited for over an hour, watching tables around us getting their food, eating, leaving and that table being filled again and people eating and leaving. Our order got lost. I flagged down the manager, told him about the situation and he said he would look into it. Our food arrived 1 hour 10 minutes after we ordered it. The manager did not even apologize. The quality of the food was not there. If you are considering eating at this restaurant, please re-consider going to another restaurant in Memphis. Capriccio only has a 3.8 star rating on Google and I know why from real experience. There are many restaurants within walking distance that have a 4.5+ rating that are professionally managed and not run by someone who don't care about customer service.
Awesome food, wonderful service, a price of Memphis history.
The Grill located in the beautiful Peabody Hotel was a lovely place to meet my friend for lunch. The menu choices are numerous as well as very varied. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the lunch. Wine list is very nice. Before the lunch we were lucky to see the ducks enter the fountain and after lunch, we wandered in the cute stores in the lobby.
We arrived to discover a dramatically reduced menu. Unfortunately the items we had viewed online in advance were not available. The restaurant was empty but we were seated next to the servers bar where all the dirty dishes and replacement dishes were kept which was noisy and unattractive. Given the abundance of empty seats this did not make sense. Some advance notice should be given if menus are being curtailed.
Overpriced and limited menu. Portion sizes are small for the price. Will not be going back
Food quality was not great.
The food is overpriced and the service did not match the priced food or the ambiance.
The stuffed chicken Parmesan was super salty and bitter. We had to ask our waiter 3 times just to get anything; from silverware, our drinks, bread, and also a side of steak sauce. When we try to ask another employee, they outright told my husband and I, ‘you have to wait for your waiter’ (What happened to co-worker teamwork??) Really bad service starting from the unenthusiastic hostess. Would not recommend to any one.
Amazing service and delicious food
We thought it was very overpriced and the waiter said portion size was smaller then it was so we ordered too much food at high prices.
Our waitress Gia was awesome everytime I come I’m asking for her.everything was wonderful Except the crying kid except the crying kid the parents would do anything with him .
Disappointed with the quality if the food condidering the cist
over priced, tasteless, fair wait staff. not worth the price,
Service was disjointed and slow; waiter missing at times and we watched other tables receive bread, water refills, etc. while we were left unattended. Waiter was not personable either.
Had Brunch here for my daughter’s 21st Birthday! True bottomless mimosas. Great food and service. Ms Rose our server was super attentive!
Our first experience with Capriccio Grill was a thank you gift for a young lady who has recently helped us with some business. We all loved sharing the first experience! The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the food was excellent! All of the staff members were very kind and helpful. Our server was very friendly and extremely easy to work with. The food was as good, if not better, than we had expected. When we left, my husband and I decided we will definitely be back for date nights. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
My boyfriend and I had dinner on a slow Sunday evening at Capriccio. The service was unprofessional but cheerful. I ordered Butternut squash soup which was excellent and the pot pie which was good but had very little chicken and the pearl onions in it were much too large. My boyfriend had Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce which had no business being called Italian- it was not very good and not authentic. We ordered apple pie which was supposed to be served hot but came cold and with whip cream that tasted fake. My boyfriend ordered vanilla ice cream which has an odd taste.
We were disappointed that even with a reservation we had to sit at the bar, but the service was excellent and the food very good. I had their "world famous" chicken pot pie. Not sure it's world famous but it was very good, the pastry was soft, flaky and perfectly done.
We were treated like rock stars as we had dinner. We were hosting our friends from out of town who have 2 children and one that’s in a wheelchair. The entire staff was incredible!
The food is always good too!
Sunday morn is buffet...no table service
Food good...servers very helpul
I took visiting relatives to dinner here, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was excellent, and our meal and wine were delicious.
Five of us had a great time at Capriccio. The food was quite good. Most of us had the petite filet. It is hard to get it medium well, but Capriccio didn't come close. We sent it back. Still not close. Keep in mind it was only a six ounce steak. Mine was a perfect medium. The Capriccio house salad had just the right amount of crisp greens and an excellent vinagrette. The lemoncello dessert was outstanding. We sat and talked for nearly two hours. So why not a higher recommendation? Although our service was good, there was a lack of attention to detail. The bearnaise sauce I ordered never came. The table was cramped too close to the wall. The restaurant is also very loud.
We've been to the Grill 3 times and each time has gotten better. The COFFEE is amazing! We've been for brunch and lunch on Saturday before going to a play at the Orpheum. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent.
The entire experience was wonderful. The food was great and the service was even better. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating when we booked the wrong time for the brunch. She even gave our 1 year old son a present to play with and kept his attention while we ate. We will definitely be back again soon.
Great service, food was excellent
Breakfast disappointing. Food was not warm enough.
Memorable visit to the Peabody to celebrate a special anniversary. Great food, and quiet space made it enjoyable. Our waitress made it a special breakfast by going above and beyond with service and personal touches! Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the dining experience. Thought the food was skillfully prepared and extremely tasty. Found the staff pleasant and accommodating. Although I realize there are a lot of costs involved in producing a wonderful buffet experience, I found the cost a little excessive. But, that is the essence of business and I understand that.
The cost is not worth the experience. The steak was decent, but definitely not $68 quality. Service was excellent (Robert was our server). Ambience leaves much to be desired; lighting is too bright and the noise level was a bit too high for my taste. Not the best choice for a romantic dinner date.
