Capri Seaside Italian Grille Ratings and Reviews
We were 6 women dining before a show. I was excited to get Bolognese , but disappointed in the taste,,,,sort of sweet. The worst part of our dining experience was trying to pay the waitress..... four had credit cards and 2 cash. She overcharged 2 of the CC's a LOT !!!. Now, we were late for the show, so we left the extra monies. She should have asked if we wanted separate checks, knowing that women usually pay separately. She said it was our fault for not asking. All in all, not a good experience.
We had a 5:30 reservation and got there early, we felt rushed from the time we sat, ordered a appetizer and through the entire meal. I get it it was a Saturday night but there were plenty of tables available while we were there. I'll have to think long and hard about returning.
I feel compelled to report in..went with friends before a show next door..reservations at 7..show was at 9. Unfortunately we didn’t ever get a chance to eat. We had some salad..which I regretfully didn’t finish so I wouldn’t spoil my dinner..but dinner never made it. It was a first for us..so paid for drinks and apps and left hungry..we did give our server the heads up about the show..she was very sweet..but couldn’t make our food appear any quicker..we did better than some who never got their apps! Oh well..good thing we were seeing comedy.
We were treated with respect and kindness the minute we walked in. The seats closest to the fireplaces in two areas were full but we were given a table in front of the 3rd fireplace and it was a beautiful setting. The service was great and complete and did not lack for attention to us. All our needs were met and the food was very good. Proportions a little robust for a lot of people I think. I ate all of mine but the two with me took theirs home. The ambiance is great as the tables are not so close together you are sitting on top of one another which can happen in a lot of Italian style restaurants. I would be more than happen to recommend the Capri to my friends and certainly we will be back! Keep up the great work!!
The food was very good and all the people at our table enjoyed their meals. The staff was very accommodating and sat us at a table vs. booth as requested. They even allowed us to bring in a cake to celebrate my sister’s birthday.
The only very small issue we had was the lighting. It was very dark! I like ambient lighting for atmosphere, but a few of us couldn’t read the menus!
My wife and I ate here for the first time on a Saturday night. It was October, so the beach crowd is gone and the restaurant was mostly locals I gather. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and clean with multiple gas fireplaces which add to the ambiance. We didn’t sit at the bar, but it looked good sized and was busy.
Our waitress was very nice and service was excellent. The wine choices were limited, but certainly adequate for complementing Italian dishes. The bread came with a dipping sauce that was very tasty. We split the chef recommended salad as an app. It was very fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. Both of our meals were very good for standard Italian fare (chicken Marsala and chicken Saltimbocca). We ordered a side of broccolini which was a little salty, but still delicious.
Overall, we would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone for an very affordable and pleasant dinner.
My wife and I visited on a Sunday night for Capri's "Meatballpalooza" which is one of the great deals at the beach. $9.99 for four meatballs, pasta and a side salad. Tough to beat.
The drinks are always good at Capri as well.
Our server Max did a wonderful job.
Had meatball appetiser that was totally awful. Very spicy and not fresh. Meat lasagna had little to no meat in it, with a light creamy sauce that tasted bad. Chicken piccata was swimming in a soup dish with some sort of pasta. Not a good experience. Will never go back
Capri never disappoints! The location is great and the food is always delicious. We live locally and each time we dine at Capri we always regret not going more often. The cocktail menu is creative and the wine list is very good. My family and I had the Meatball Sampler appetizer which was really good! The bread and red tomato and olive dipping sauce is unreal. So delicious! Careful not to fill up! The lasagna is cheesy and served in a cast iron pan. My kids had the cheese ravioli and they loved it. I had my usual bolognese and it never disappoints. It was my daughters 13th Birthday and our waitress brought her a huge slice of chocolate cake with a candle. The service is always top notice and we often have the same server. I am attending a show this week and will be dining at Capri before the show at the Blue Ocean music hall. Can't wait!
We have walked by this restaurant for years while on vacation, and finally had a chance to try it. Capri did not disappoint! The ambiance is very cozy - two fireplaces would provide comfort and warmth in the winter. The food was delicious. A tomato-based spread was given with bread service and it was delicious! My husband and I shared a caesar salad. I had lobster-stuffed salmon, and my husband had lasagna. Everything was yummy! My only complaint was the slow service. We waited about 10 minutes to even get our water. We will definitely return sometime in the future.
Ate here before we attended a show at Blue Ocean Music Hall which is right across street and owed by the same people. Food did what it was supposed to do - fill me up before a show, but I wouldn't travel there otherwise (and probably wouldn't rush there before another show either). I had Veal Parm. The beet salad we ordered was pretty good and I had high hopes. The veal came and it was a smaller piece of veal over a large plate of penne (which was slightly overcooked). Mostly penne. The veal was small and the sauce had a very spicy taste - hot pepper like - although I didn't like the sauce I'll admit that could be a personal preference.
I ate it and was full - nothing more.
Service was efficient
All in all, the food was average and decent, but nothing drive-worthy. Before the next show if i go here I'll probably just stick with appetizers and drinks.
