great risotta and veal nice fireplaces I repeat great risotta and veal dishes
The service was a bit slow but the food was good once it got there. At first multiple people including the hostess converged on us to get us waters, menus, and get everyone settled - we were a 12 people including kids. Then we waited till the waitress - who was handling all the tables near us - was available to take our food and drink order. Then we got some great bread an dipping sauce brought us by a different person that the kids devoured because we were still waiting for our food. Most of the food came out at the same time, or close it - and it was hot. We just waited a little longer than I would have liked. I am assuming they we short handed that night and it was busy. The waitress did pretty good considering the work load she had and the food was decent.
great food. Olivia was a wonderful server
DO NOT GO HERE!! My husband and I went to Capri on Saturday evening for the first and last time.
I cannot say enough what a terrible experience it was ending in my being sick that evening. The service was terrible and the food was worse. I ordered a crab cake for an appetizer-it was burnt on both sides. I also ordered a salad with Salmon. The salad came out as an appetizer and was dropped on the table with no Salmon. I asked for no cheese-it was loaded with cheese. The waitress did not come over as my salad waited and my husband had no meal. Finally she came back-took my salad and plopped the salmon on my same salad-did not remove the cheese or give me a new salad. The salmon was fried, dried out and had what must of been pesto on it. My husband ordered pasta with Chicken Parm that finally came out with the awful Salmon. His pasta was not cooked. We took a few bites each and decided to leave. We had to ask several times for the bill. Finally we went to the bar. Where our bills was run. We filled out the comment card and the manager came to ask us what was wrong. We were so disgusted we just wanted to leave. She actually charged us full price clearly seeing how disappointed we were. It is a shame as the facility is beautiful and there was a young man singing and playing guitar who we really enjoyed. If the food was even decent we would of gone back. Honestly based on what we experienced this place should be closed. My suggestion run from this place!
Capri is one of I favorite restaurants, but Saturday night was a disappointment. One meal was over cooked, one chicken dinner was tough and my meal was not prepared according to the menu ( a dish I ge all the time).
Maybe a new chef????? Very disappointed.
The only complaint I have is the waitress dumped a half glass of wine on the table and we got charged for the full class. I was annoyed by that. But other then that would go back again
awesum really nice great sevice food was great waiter was excellant
3 people - 3 hugely different tastes - 3 extremely satisfied customers
Relaxing, pleasant evening. Great entertainer.
Food was fantastic as always but the wait staff we had this visit wasn't the best. Our server was an older lady who, it seemed to me, was having a bad night or would just prefer to be someplace else.
I had dinner there with my fiance and a couple of friends. We were able to get last minute reservations on a Saturday night. Everything was very good, and they were attentive to our show time accross the street, and got us out of there in plenty of time.
We are transplants to the seacoast area from Boston. This was our first time there, so I went with the "chef's recommendations". The baby arugula salad was awesome. The chef's pork chop was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was a bit bland. There was a good crowd, but the room was pleasantly quiet. It was a nice night out, but our search for a great Italian restaurant in this area will continue.....
Overall, it was a very good experience. The dinners we had were excellent...tasty and fresh. The drinks were superb along with Max, our server. Max was attentive and effective. One little peave we had was with the issue of ambiance. Believe it or not, it was just too dark making reading the menus a bit of a challenge. Would we go back? The darkness issue will not stop a return trip
The waitress was charming. We stayed with Chefs special salad was fantastic. Both of us had pasta dishes. There was way too much sauce on both, almost soup like. Their bolognese is not what was expected, more like a vodka sauce. It was good but not the traditional meat sauce. Would try it again but ask for light sauce
Food was okay, not great. Service was horrible. Had to beg for the check. Spoiled the entire experience.
We went on "date night" before the concert at Blue Ocean. The service was excellent and they were mindful of the time table to get to the show, but never rushed us. The food was very good. The portions were filling. The experience was excellent. We will be back there whenever we go to Blue Ocean.
The sauce served a bread is amazing!
Brussels sprouts = delicious
Haddock picante - incredible
Glen is the best waiter ever
We had another great night at Capri. This is our fourth time dining there this month. Every time the food is on point, service is wonderful and we leave saying it was a great night. The set up of the restaurant caters to all dining experiences. The bar area is hopping and there is seating near by that allows for more of an energetic feel. Yet, the restaurant also has booths and tables in another area that allows for a quieter and more intimate experience. There is also space for larger groups that is a little bit separated and helps to control noise. Kathleen always greets and welcomes us with a smile and Ivy has been our server the last two times and has been attentive and patient with any questions we might have. The food is excellent and I plan to return again soon to try some different dishes.
Excellent Bolognese, great Italian style seafood dishes and bread with dipping sauce
Delicious but extremely salty
It was a Sunday evening & the restaurant was busy. We’ve been here before many times & always had a great meal. This time the service was very slow- forgetting my drink, no bread etc. The food was okay but not special, maybe a bit over cooked. It just seemed like s different chef or an off night.
We were having a girls night out. Mary Lou was our waitress. We loved her. She gave honest recommendations, she was friendly and efficient. Our food was piping hot and delicious. Would definitely go back.
Only complaint....ordered sangria. First round was completely different tasting than second round. ???
Restaurant food was not good. Max our server was excellent. Pizza was like card board.
Reliably good dining experience prior to show at Blue Ocean. Our server Ivy was excellent!
Dinner for two...early dinner...5pm (8/1)...service and atmosphere were great...was vacationing in the area...nice each area setting...
I had the shrimp scampi...as good as you can get...comparable to the North End...nice salad bar and warm bread and dip...
My wife had linguini and red sauce....she reported the sauce as bland...and it was...pasta was cooked perfectly...
Had lemoncello cake to finish...was excellent...fresh and flavorful....
Highly recommend...we will return....
Enjoyed a lovely meal Saturday night. We had a party of 6 and we were accommodated beautifully. The evening was relaxed, the food was excellent and the service was great.
Food was very good but the service was very, very slow. It looked like the restaurant was understaffed.
Food and wait staff were excellent! This is our 3rd time visiting the restaurant in 2 weeks. Each time we had a different server and each one was excellent! Can’t wait to return again.
Excellent birthday dinner, service was A++
Great Food; Disappointing Service
Food was great — ample portion sizes, pleasantly presented, and quite tasty.
Service was disappointing — nowhere near acceptable.
Our server was friendly at first, but just seemed to ignore us during our time there.
Had to “raise my hand” to get anyone’s attention for a refill on water glasses — finally caught the attention of the maître d' and our thirst was quenched.
Coffee came quickly after dinner but not the check.
By the time our single cup of coffee was finished, I had already tried 3-times to flag down the server — even got my credit card out and ready. Server seemed to pay ample attention to the other customers on our section.
When our server finally came with the folio, it was a quick “drop-and-go.”
After 15 more minutes of coffeeless waiting, I got up, went to the register, and gave our server my bill and credit card; our server continued to place other orders while I waited at the kitchen door; and then rang us up.
I stayed and signed my receipt and returned it right there — did not know how long it would take for our server to return to our table.
All of this remained foremost in my mind during our 2-hour drive home — wished I could have forgotten the evening.
Not sure the exceptional food experience out-weighed being ignored by our server.
On a positive note, my server at Sunday breakfast in Connecticut got the reward — a well-deserved tip for breakfast plus the tip that our server at the Capri could have earned on Saturday night had she paid some attention to us.
You'll need to make reservations on most summer nights. The food is excellent. We had Glen as our server. Glen is either new or not very good as a server. Constantly apologizing for slow bad service. Forgetting to check back a few times. Water and beverage glass never refilled. Took silverware from apps and never brought our new silverware. Very painful when you get service like this.
Good several times in the past, Capri was not good this time. Party of 6 and only one person thought she got a good meal. Sat down at 6:PM and could not get a round of drinks or place our order until 6:30. Based on passed experience we’ll give Capri one more chance.
My wife had chicken Marsala and has never had it come with Parmesan cheese. I asked if veal was thick or thin, server said thin it was pounded. It wasn’t pounded
Overall service was better then the food. The waiter did an excellent job. Cocktails also very good. 2 of the 5 entries were good. The chicken marsala was flavorless and bland. Pasta overcooked. Stick to the red sauce entrees.
We go to Capri for dinner a lot. Always a good meal in a very nice setting. On this occasion, Waiter was friendly but kept forgetting our requests- water refill, butter, more wine, etc. Suspect he was new and will improve. We went with our kids this time so sat at a table. My husband and I typically will sit at bar for dinner and drinks when just the two of us. Always great service at bar.
Wednesday nights is pasta night for $11.99. A great bargain. The food is always good here and plenty of it!
Terrific dining experience. My wife had the pan seared scallops and I had the seafood risotto. Best Italian dining in the Salisbury beach area.
There was only one waitress in our section and she wasn't moving very fast. We had a concert to attend but did make it in time. I would recommend this restaurant but if you have some where to go then make your reservations for earlier than you might. The food was excellent.
We have been here several times when in the beach area. We have come as a family as well as large groups. Great drinks, apps, food, all in a friendly accommodating atmosphere. I would recommend a reservation though .
Love the food, need more wait staff though. Overall it was good.
