Not one person in our party of 3 thought their meals were well-prepared. Service was slow and had the feeling the restaurant was ill-prepared for a busy night. Hard to justify the relatively high prices of most entrees with the quality of the food.
The restaurant was a bit on th dark side, (hard to read the menus), and the drinks were fabulous! The food was pretty good, the eggplant rollatini was delish, the antipasto - not so much.
Unfortunately this was all sabotaged by a waiter, (nice and polite as he was), disappearing and twice we
had to ask the hostess to find him for us!
We, like so many others, were going to the show at Blue Ocean, and this is the first time I've had trouble with worrying about making the show! I have eaten here four other times, but never had service like that.
The waiter did apologize, but the restaurant was half empty when we left, there was no reason for him not to check on us. We would have ordered another drink!!1
Nice little restaurant. Very talented entertainer played throughout dinner. Eggplant left a lot to be desired very tough. The server was very efficient.
I’ve been to Capri a few times. The food is ALWAYS wonderful. I would never hesitate to recommend it to anyone that hasn’t been there 5 thumbs up!
We went to the Capri Grille for the first time. We usually meet at the Seaglass across the street.
We were greeted by a lovely hostess and escorted to our seats in front of a fireplace.
Our Waiter, Robert was very helpful. He was terrific.
We ordered veal piccata and it was delicious.
We had a delightful evening.
We are looking forward to going back.
This was my 3rd visit. My food was a bit on the cold side..
The food and service were amazing, and us such a warm place. The roasted tomato and olive oil dipping sauce served with various Italian breads is unsurpassed. I highly recommend the seared scallops and the chicken pinata. We will be back soom
Seated in front of a fireplace, nice. Appertizer and soup very good! But the main course 🤔much too rich! And my fish was not cooked! Haddock marinara sent back and received small pieces of my fish! Ridiculous!
Sat by beautiful fireplace. Member of our party has garlic allergy. No problem since all meals are cooked to order and delicious. Waitstaff very friendly, as were guests surrounding our table. Decent drinks. We were not rushed which helped make our evening with friends most enjoyable.
Very poor service. They kept saying sorry we are busy. If so then why seat us. 25 min sitting there before anyone came to out table.
a good local Italian restaurant. menu hasn't changed much over the years, consistent quality, cozy atmosphere
It was perfect!
I love this restaurant. The food is great! This my go to before or after a show at Blue Ocean.
Seated promptly, service was great. Food was delicious from the warm bread and mussels in marinara sauce to our main courses. Would return to dine again. Thank you to the chef and wait staff!
great risotta and veal nice fireplaces I repeat great risotta and veal dishes
The service was a bit slow but the food was good once it got there. At first multiple people including the hostess converged on us to get us waters, menus, and get everyone settled - we were a 12 people including kids. Then we waited till the waitress - who was handling all the tables near us - was available to take our food and drink order. Then we got some great bread an dipping sauce brought us by a different person that the kids devoured because we were still waiting for our food. Most of the food came out at the same time, or close it - and it was hot. We just waited a little longer than I would have liked. I am assuming they we short handed that night and it was busy. The waitress did pretty good considering the work load she had and the food was decent.
great food. Olivia was a wonderful server
DO NOT GO HERE!! My husband and I went to Capri on Saturday evening for the first and last time.
I cannot say enough what a terrible experience it was ending in my being sick that evening. The service was terrible and the food was worse. I ordered a crab cake for an appetizer-it was burnt on both sides. I also ordered a salad with Salmon. The salad came out as an appetizer and was dropped on the table with no Salmon. I asked for no cheese-it was loaded with cheese. The waitress did not come over as my salad waited and my husband had no meal. Finally she came back-took my salad and plopped the salmon on my same salad-did not remove the cheese or give me a new salad. The salmon was fried, dried out and had what must of been pesto on it. My husband ordered pasta with Chicken Parm that finally came out with the awful Salmon. His pasta was not cooked. We took a few bites each and decided to leave. We had to ask several times for the bill. Finally we went to the bar. Where our bills was run. We filled out the comment card and the manager came to ask us what was wrong. We were so disgusted we just wanted to leave. She actually charged us full price clearly seeing how disappointed we were. It is a shame as the facility is beautiful and there was a young man singing and playing guitar who we really enjoyed. If the food was even decent we would of gone back. Honestly based on what we experienced this place should be closed. My suggestion run from this place!
Capri is one of I favorite restaurants, but Saturday night was a disappointment. One meal was over cooked, one chicken dinner was tough and my meal was not prepared according to the menu ( a dish I ge all the time).
Maybe a new chef????? Very disappointed.
The only complaint I have is the waitress dumped a half glass of wine on the table and we got charged for the full class. I was annoyed by that. But other then that would go back again
awesum really nice great sevice food was great waiter was excellant
3 people - 3 hugely different tastes - 3 extremely satisfied customers
Relaxing, pleasant evening. Great entertainer.
Food was fantastic as always but the wait staff we had this visit wasn't the best. Our server was an older lady who, it seemed to me, was having a bad night or would just prefer to be someplace else.
I had dinner there with my fiance and a couple of friends. We were able to get last minute reservations on a Saturday night. Everything was very good, and they were attentive to our show time accross the street, and got us out of there in plenty of time.
We are transplants to the seacoast area from Boston. This was our first time there, so I went with the "chef's recommendations". The baby arugula salad was awesome. The chef's pork chop was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was a bit bland. There was a good crowd, but the room was pleasantly quiet. It was a nice night out, but our search for a great Italian restaurant in this area will continue.....
Overall, it was a very good experience. The dinners we had were excellent...tasty and fresh. The drinks were superb along with Max, our server. Max was attentive and effective. One little peave we had was with the issue of ambiance. Believe it or not, it was just too dark making reading the menus a bit of a challenge. Would we go back? The darkness issue will not stop a return trip
The waitress was charming. We stayed with Chefs special salad was fantastic. Both of us had pasta dishes. There was way too much sauce on both, almost soup like. Their bolognese is not what was expected, more like a vodka sauce. It was good but not the traditional meat sauce. Would try it again but ask for light sauce
Food was okay, not great. Service was horrible. Had to beg for the check. Spoiled the entire experience.
We went on "date night" before the concert at Blue Ocean. The service was excellent and they were mindful of the time table to get to the show, but never rushed us. The food was very good. The portions were filling. The experience was excellent. We will be back there whenever we go to Blue Ocean.
The sauce served a bread is amazing!
Brussels sprouts = delicious
Haddock picante - incredible
Glen is the best waiter ever
A++!
We had another great night at Capri. This is our fourth time dining there this month. Every time the food is on point, service is wonderful and we leave saying it was a great night. The set up of the restaurant caters to all dining experiences. The bar area is hopping and there is seating near by that allows for more of an energetic feel. Yet, the restaurant also has booths and tables in another area that allows for a quieter and more intimate experience. There is also space for larger groups that is a little bit separated and helps to control noise. Kathleen always greets and welcomes us with a smile and Ivy has been our server the last two times and has been attentive and patient with any questions we might have. The food is excellent and I plan to return again soon to try some different dishes.
Excellent Bolognese, great Italian style seafood dishes and bread with dipping sauce
Delicious but extremely salty
It was a Sunday evening & the restaurant was busy. We’ve been here before many times & always had a great meal. This time the service was very slow- forgetting my drink, no bread etc. The food was okay but not special, maybe a bit over cooked. It just seemed like s different chef or an off night.
We were having a girls night out. Mary Lou was our waitress. We loved her. She gave honest recommendations, she was friendly and efficient. Our food was piping hot and delicious. Would definitely go back.
Only complaint....ordered sangria. First round was completely different tasting than second round. ???
Restaurant food was not good. Max our server was excellent. Pizza was like card board.
Reliably good dining experience prior to show at Blue Ocean. Our server Ivy was excellent!
Dinner for two...early dinner...5pm (8/1)...service and atmosphere were great...was vacationing in the area...nice each area setting...
I had the shrimp scampi...as good as you can get...comparable to the North End...nice salad bar and warm bread and dip...
My wife had linguini and red sauce....she reported the sauce as bland...and it was...pasta was cooked perfectly...
Had lemoncello cake to finish...was excellent...fresh and flavorful....
Highly recommend...we will return....
Enjoyed a lovely meal Saturday night. We had a party of 6 and we were accommodated beautifully. The evening was relaxed, the food was excellent and the service was great.
