I go to Capri regularly with my friends and my family for over 20 + years. The cooking is authentic and very good. The staffs are always very friendly.
It is a classic to have either a business meal or family getting together.
We did not know what to expect, but had always wanted to try the restaurant as long-time McLean residents. My wife and I enjoyed our experience and the food. From the appetizers to desert, we were not disappointed and have been recommending it to others.
Very enjoyable meal. Good food, good service. Very helpful staff.
Family dinner. Really g
I normalky enjoy my lunch at this restaurant, but i always experience their rush to get rid of you. We booked a table at 1pm. By 2:10 the noisy vacuum cleaner was on. I find it unacceptable for them to take reservations at 1pm, and expect you out of there in an hour.
The one thing i really love about this restaurant is the natural light it gets. It is a happy place to lunch, but ....
I personally had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It tasted fine, but I was disappointed by what appeared to be squares of processed chicken instead of fresh carved chicken that I normally experience in other fine Italian restaurants.
Excellent service. Excellent Food. Philip was the best.
Courteous, efficient staff. Great food. Not trendy or exotic -- just delicious.
Good eats! Poor ambience! Close closeted and noisey, with all the charm of an institutional dining room. But the food and service are waayy above average. We really enjoyed the seafood linguine, with lots of mussels, calamari, small necks and shrimp. The dessert of tiramisu was very good, as was the strong, Italian roast coffee. Recommended and we'll be back.
Great food and great service. I would recommend it.
Excellent service staff and an excellent menu to compliment the overall experience. We were there on a busy night and ever table was full and we had no trouble getting seated and served. The noise level is very high so I can't say it would good for a 1st date or if you were planning on having a conversation with your guests without raising your voice to compensate.
The food is very good and the service was perfect. I would highly recommend.
We hadn’t been here for about 15 years. Our only memory of the place was that we believed it to be overpriced. But, it was Restaurant Week, so we thought we would give it a go. I was shocked to find no vegetarian options for Restaurant Week. Even on the full menu, there were only two vegetarian entrees. I have never experienced this at an Italian restaurant. Disappointing. I ordered the gnocchi off the menu and expected it to be homemade. The sauce was decent, but the gnocchi itself was very comparable to the frozen that we buy at Trader Joe’s. In fact, we wonder if it was the same. It will probably be another 15 years before we go back.
excellent authentic menu wonderful service ez parking and access
great for business lunch or family dinners..a neighborhood treasure
Delicious meal, attentive service. A nearby table had a few children who raised the noise level a bit but for the most part were not too disruptive. The menu has lots of variety to please various tastes.
Very enjoyable neighborhood Italian restaurant. Would recommend to everyone.
Wonderful dining experience! Delicious food!
Food was great. Service just right — attentive but not intrusive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great, moderately priced Italian meal.
This would be a lovely restaurant, if they seated within their capacity - and used noise-absorbing textiles/fabric in their decorating scheme. It is a small, one-room eatery that offers very decent food - but the noise level and crowded seating is ridiculous.
We had reservations; however, we were directed to their (small, corner bar that seats about 4 people - to wait for a table to came open. We were there for a festive occasion (Christmas Eve) - and ended up being seated on folding chairs at a small, rickety table - between two large tables with very loud diners (but, they probably couldn't hear very well, either). We gave up on trying to converse and could barely hear the waiter. Needless to say, the menu came in handy ;o)
It's apparently a popular neighborhood restaurant, and we really wanted to give it a chance. This was our 3rd visit to Capri Ristorante Italiano - and although we didn't run into a lack of seating in the past - the noise and limited space (in close proximity to the front door, no matter where you sit), makes it a non-starter for future visits.
Delicious dinner. Christmas Eve was a very busy but the food and service was perfect!
Consistently good food and service
Always great options
Gourmet Italian options
Authentic menu with yummy desserts
Lovely restaurant! Our food was delicious and all 6 of us cleaned our plates. We will most definitely come back. Service was a bit slow but honestly, it was well worth the wait. Portion sizes are generous and menu prices are reasonable.
Thanks for helping us make our special occasion memorable.
great food and great service ez parking safe clean
The food was excellent, two different calamari starters, veal marsala, veal picante, and rockfish filet. The waiter was a bit pushy at first with the "special" wines (all reds), but we had one person in our party who is allergic to red wine and thus had to order white. Once we ordered, our waiter was great - no disparaging comments about our choice. One note: this is an upscale restaurant, so they should not have brought out our main dishes before we finished our starter plates. That makes for awkward shuffling of dishes. It's a lovely restaurant, a charming place though a bit loud when busy. Definitely a neighborhood go-to spot.
As usual our dining experience was excellent. The staff was gracious and accommodating. The bread was warm and delicious. All four of our meals were perfect. The desserts were outstanding. It is easily the best Italian restaurant in McLean far superior to the newly renovated one down the street
It's a gem in McLean. Wonderful food, friendly staff, and moderately priced.
Very good food, and quite reasonable for the high quality. I ordered the rockfish which was perfectly done, as were the side veggies. Very reasonable wines by the glass, as well, and the salad (Pomodoro) and desserts were just delicious. Great service.
Great food, great service!
Wonderful service and great food! I always enjoy the quite noise level too!
this restaurant always provides very good food, very diverse menu selections and excellent service . enjoyable on every visit.
Loved everything about this place. My first time there. I went with my son after a long day of School and sport. We both enjoyed our food very much. The service was great and the restaurant set up was beautiful. That would be my new place to go to!!
Wonderful service and I️ credible food for a reasonable price
Mother in law selected for a friends and family night out after attending nearby choral music concert. Tasty but not amazing - for example, husband liked quantity, flavors, temperature of his carbonara but it was too saucy and thus texture was off - a bit like pasta soup. Another item - my lasagna - very little ricotta and sauce was a tad odd (more like tomato cream sauce then regular marinara or chunky tomato sauce- either of which I’d prefer). Perfectly edible but not quite right texture or flavor. Service outstanding not invasive but quietly attentive- but again we asked for more bread but when this arrived no butter came with it so I then had to ask for this too. Not too expensive but three people (me husband MIL) came to $125 with tip, which was: 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, no desserts, 1 glass wine, 1 cup of tea. So, also not so affordable (cheap) that bringing more butter for bread should be a special request. Quiet and charming .
We have found the food and service to always be very good. They have never disappointed us. we always eat fish and have been very impressed with freshness and preparation. And we think Capri is good value.
Celebrated cousin's 97th birthday with family and friends. Very attentive service and great food. The celebrant ate a full appetizer, a full plate of veal ravioli and a tiramisu dessert.
Simply put, a terrible dining experience. Our waiter, Nelson L. was slow/inattentive. We had to ask another waiter for bread, and then ask the on duty manager for bread later in the evening. After waiting for our food for about 25 minutes, we asked the manager for help. He promptly brought out our order. We then had to flag down the manager to receive our bill. The manager was barely apologetic, and offered no compensation for the poor service, although it did appear the manager was scolding the waiter when he obtained our bill.
What a great place to gather! It doesn't matter if we arrive at 6 p.m. or at 9 p.m., we are greeted warmly. The service is remarkable; the wait staff is warm and delightful; and the food is simply delicious. We truly feel like family at the Capri.
Having spent lots of time in Italy, I enjoyed Capri's very good food and service. Unfortunately, it was spoiled by a loud-mouthed gaggle of females who may have had too much to drink! I'll return but hopefully the gaggle won't be there!
This was the perfect spot for a quiet lunch. Menu had a variety of offerings. We enjoyed the Sweet Potato soup (large portion and served steaming hot), and two different luncheon salads, that were both delightful. Grilled shrimp was especially good. Service was adequate.
The food and service excellent and you can actually have a nice dinner conversation without having to shout across the table! We also think it is a very good value for the DC area.
