Having spent lots of time in Italy, I enjoyed Capri's very good food and service. Unfortunately, it was spoiled by a loud-mouthed gaggle of females who may have had too much to drink! I'll return but hopefully the gaggle won't be there!
This was the perfect spot for a quiet lunch. Menu had a variety of offerings. We enjoyed the Sweet Potato soup (large portion and served steaming hot), and two different luncheon salads, that were both delightful. Grilled shrimp was especially good. Service was adequate.
The food and service excellent and you can actually have a nice dinner conversation without having to shout across the table! We also think it is a very good value for the DC area.
Ambience and service was quite good. We found the pasta dishes to be very salty- too much for our taste.
Wonderful, fabulous, fun and warm gathering place. Only once in the evening was it too loud. Usually come for lunch, its my favorite Birthday place and special occasion destination. Please don't change a thing!!!
The food is excellent. We especially like the Salad di Capri and the Rockfish. Service is a bit spotty and sometimes the noise level is bothersome. But, overall, it is one of the best in McLean in it's price range.
Beautiful ambience, elegant food presentations and an attentive staff.
This is a treasue of a restaurant.
We visited Capri as part of Restaurant Week. The salad was excellent, but the soup was mediocre. Our entrees were adequate, but not great. The veal scallopini was a little bland. We frequent Italian restaurants and know of several in the area that are a better choice.
Finding the restaurant took some sleuthing skills as it is on the second floor. Once the first guests climbed the stairs and mentioned that the escalator wasn't working, the staff turned it on. We did learn later there was an elevator. I had forwarned them that we included guests with mobility issues so I would have expected them to see to that before we started to arrive.
I checked their website the day before hoping to see their RW menu but the one showing was from May 2017. I called to clarify and the person answering the phone didn't know anything about their website but assured me there would be a fish option on the RW menu. There was not. Food for a party of 8 took a long time to arrive and wasn't hot. Quality was fairly good but no exceptionally good dishes. Wine and coffee were excellent.
I went with two girl friends for lunch in restaurant week. We all think the food could be better.
Good spot for friends to get together and the food is excellent. The location is also very convenient.
Very pleasant Italian restaurant, comfortable with attractive surroundings.
Great food here, and very comfortable. Very good, attentive service as well. Had the Agnolotti and thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
We've eaten there for several years. They make authentic Italian food - and not just the dozen or so menu items you typically see on an Italian menu.
Their dishes are prepared using good quality ingredients, and are carefully and consistently prepared per a good recipe.
I like their wine, but I'm not a wine expert; so I won't say more about their wine.
Their prices are in line with the quality of their food.
The restaurant is on the second floor in a shopping center, but it has a nice interior decor. An elevator provides easy access for people with disabilities.
The serving staff are always attentive and nice.
Server was attentive. We ordered gazpacho and rockfish (both specials) and veal. The tartuffo desserts were superb and gazpacho had a nice kick to it. We were not rushed at all and stayed for awhile after our dessert and coffee. My first time there, not really my neighborhood, but I would return there.
We had a delicious authentic Italian meal. The restaurant is tucked away in a small shopping center but well worth the effort of finding it. Service could have been a little faster but that would be our only complaint.
Very attentive service. Came with a group of friends to catch up and were able to do just that at our round table.
Excellent Italian food, friendly service.
Very nice all around, service, food, and table clothe which I like very much
lovely light filled dining with good space between tables. some tables outside undercover too
It was our 1st time, I ordered an ice tea , didn't taste fresh so I ask if was possible to get a fresh one, they 1st claimed was fresh and I insisted for a fresh sure they made a new one, food was very nice service incredible, we will be back
Service was acceptable - not great. Noise level was a little above comfortable. Salmon was GREAT.
The food preparations were quite good but the wait staff seems unmanaged and disorganized. My pet peeve is the waiter bringing dishes and not remembering who gets what. My peeve was kindled here. But lots of other little failings by waitstaff, like having to be asked multiple times for things and generally being inattentive. On the other hand, they were individual delightful people and earnest. That suggests they need some training, but that's my inexperienced guess.
Acoustics remain the complaint when we leave Capri. We like the food better than any other Italian place in McLean; service is attentive. But even when the restaurant is half empty, it's still loud. We wondered whether they could modify the ceiling, to absorb the noise of competing conversations.
lack of communication at the front desk.
i was waiting for my guest for an hour - while she in fact was seated at another table and she had been waiting for 30 Mins.
i had made a reservation in my name and yet, when they seated her, they said she was the first there.
This was a special dinner to honor my wife's birthday. We have been to Italy numerous times and have not had a meal there that was better than what the Capri delivers. I highly recommend it.
We love Capri. The food is always great.
The wine list is good...mixed drinks are not their specialty so, I don't order them there.
The staff is friendly, service is always really good.
Great comfort food! Love it at lunch time. Have been a faithful patron since it's very beginning. I highly recommend the chicken escalope alla milanese.
ALWAYS GREAT SERVICE AND WONDERFUL FOOD CHOICES WITH EXCELLENT TASTES.
Excellent Italian food in an intimate setting in McLean, near Tyson's Corner. Call for reservations, limited number of tables.
