We had not been to Cappy's in a while, but the menu was loaded with new items and they kept some
of their best with the chicken salad and mango salad.
We had a wonderful waitress.
Through the years, Cappy's has been a great go-to restaurant. Family and friends have enjoyed the outstanding food and service in a comfortable setting. Cappy's is a great San Antonio restaurant!
Excellent server who had many tables but was exceptional
Cappy's is our favorite and always offers sumptuous dishes in a warm, cozy setting with great service. We have never been disappointed with any aspect of the dining experience and truly look forward to each visit as a special event! The cuisine is really wonderful, and the chef always adds seasonal specials to the menu. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening out together.
Great location in San Antonio. The food is designed well and there are many things to choose from.
Took a friend for a working brunch. Food and service couldn’t have been better. And, somehow, the Irish coffees helped us sail through our assignment. May be the best ones in town.
The food is always excellent at Cappy’s but this time I noticed how exceptional the service is. An empty plate was not allowed to stay on our -or any- table more than a few seconds. Any member of the staff who saw something that needed picking up just did it. Food service was quick and we were checked on several times.
It was a little pricey for lunch but it was a Birthday lunch so we splurged.
Seated on time. Request to be seated downstairs when making reservation was honored. Perfect table tucked in a corner so our party could talk. Noise was still moderate so this really helped. Wait staff were efficient. Sometimes a little to eager to clear or move the meal along. Everyone seemed to appreciate their meal choice though perhaps not as much “wow” as previous visits. Presentation beautiful as always.
Great meal...and great wine list. Atmosphere is great for any occasion, really. Everything I've tried here has been tasty. It's hard to resist the bread basket, too.
They even prepared a delicious Vegan entree
Four friends and I enjoyed Sunday dinner (1/13) upstairs, our favorite location! Ryan, our server, was knowledgeable, personable, efficient. Excellent food. Good drinks. Cappy's never fails to please, both from the standpoint of staff and, equally important, from that of excellent food and drink. Recommend it highly for so many occasions.
We decided to have dinner after a Majestic Theatre matinee performance. We’ve not been in many years since we moved to Garden Ridge. The experience was better than we remembered! We definitely will not wait so long in the future. Everything (the cocktails, the food & the service) was great! It’s ashame I was on a high protein diet but I’ll recover quickly 👍. Thank you for this opportunity.

Great as always!
Delicious food served in an upscale but casual environment. A true classic. Fun and delicious.
Always gracious service and hosts. Limited dessert menu for lactose intolerant.
Will you be offended if I bring my own decaffeomTed hot tea bag? You seldom have it.
It is one of few remaining local treasures.
Food was amazing and our waitress was awesome!
I had a great time I kept bees. The food was unbelievably delicious and everybody was so nice to me for my birthday! I can't wait to go there again! :-)
Cappys is always amazing. The staff is great and food is delicious.
I always enjoy Cappy’s, because it consistently is good. The menu doesn’t
change and I know I have great choices.
Cappy’s never fails to delight. A recent menu change and travel plans brought us back earlier than usual, so we sampled some of the new. The pate appetizer (what was that pepper-laced confit garnish?! It will take days to back-engineer at home. Should’ve asked . . ) was superb. So was the lamb and lentil soup. So were the lamb chops, and grilled salmon, and- I need a thesaurus to continue. Until next time, memories will have to do. Sweet, sweet memories.
Phenomenal food and great service as always! My wife and i's favorite San Antonio restaurant!
Love those Sprouts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Along with the Mustang Chicken, and the butter garlic mussels were fantastic - great cocktails too!
Always great food and service. Our go to spot for any occasion.
We love Cappy’s! Service was outstanding and food was delicious. A wonderful local spot.
This past Saturday I was treated to a belated birthday dinner by my dear friend and we dined at Cappy's. I've been there COUNTLESS times for brunch, but this was my first time experiencing their dinner menu. It was FANTASTIC, from the food, to the service, to the ambiance Cappy's offers. Our server, Alex, made excellent recommendations for our cocktails as well as our selection for dinner and dessert. I can't wait to return and try more items from their menu!
I've eaten at Cappy's on various occasions and am always delighted. It was the first time there for my two guests; they raved about the atmosphere, including the paintings on display, and the food. I savored the huge scallops with mashed potatoes and veggies.
Always good food and great service. One of our favorite neighborhood spots.
Very friendly. A great neighborhood restaurant. Run into friends and sometimes family
My “ rare” ahi tuna arrived looking like swordfish, on a bed of mashed potatoes, swimming in lemon cream sauce, with a side of “mixed” veggies that was mostly mushrooms and carrots. Yuck.
New Years! And NO pre-fixe menu!!! Horrayyyyy!! Amazing food every time.
Great find outside of city center near Incarnate Word. Alli and the whole wait staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive at all while my wife and I enjoyed our New Year's Eve night out. The kitchen was quick with the service without rushing courses. Great attention to detail in the preparation and presentation.
We started with a kale salad to share that was fantastically fresh - great dried cherries and a vibrant lemon soy dressing. I also had a tasty gumbo that my wife even enjoyed who doesn't like gumbo.
Dinner was perfect! My lamb chops were cooked perfectly and the sunchoke and capers added were a delicious twist. My wife's potato encrusted halibut was delicious - light and flaky and very moist. Wine list was not huge but had plenty of good choices in different formats including 375 mls. Sweet potato cheesecake was a great finish.
Best part of the evening was the service. Throughout the night the attention paid to us by Alli and the staff was on point. We were attended to regularly and watched over - regular refills of drinks is a key for both my wife and I - but without being too frequently interrupted.
Cappy's is well worth a trip!!
Great Service and food. Very welcoming atmosphere.
Went to this restaurant with very high hopes, based on the number of positive reviews as well as a menu featuring numerous variations of eggs benedict—a favorite of my brunch companion. We walked in with the belief that having so many varieties of eggs benedict on the menu meant the item was a house specialty. That turned out to be a very incorrect assumption. I ordered one of the variations and my guest ordered traditional eggs benedict. Generally speaking, the flavors were not unpleasant, and may have been relatively okay. However, considering that the key to proper eggs benedict is the poached egg, it doesn’t matter what flavors are combined on a plate. The eggs should have been perfectly cooked, considering the restaurant had been open less than 40 minutes and had less than 10 diners, but neither my guest nor I had properly cooked eggs. We didn’t even have two eggs cooked the same on each of our respective plates. Four poached eggs between us and not one cooked the same, and only one that was close to having the proper runny yolk one expects. To top it all off our waitress had a terrible “why do I have to be working at 10:30am?” attitude that added nothing to the experience, and certainly didn’t make up for improperly poached eggs. The only highlight was the young woman who asked about our coffee and waters, and cleared our uncleaned plates. She was given a cash tip, and I asked her to keep it for herself as she was the only positive take away from the restaurant. Save yourself a fair amount of money and go elsewhere in search of eggs benedict in San Antonio. This restaurant is not worth your money or the lost time spent eating their sub-par cuisine.
It’s nice to find a place which maintains its level of excellence year in and year out. Food and service still great. Easy parking in a retail commercial residential mixed environment . A must visit every time we’re in SA.
Been going there for as long as they've been open. Always good. Always able to accommodate special requests.
Having not been to Cappy's for several years, three of us celebrated my wife's birthday at there on a Sunday Night, and everything was great – rather expensive, but great. Food choice, presentation, taste and creative presentation were excellent, as was the service and serving at a very acceptable speed. We had reserved a table for three at 7pm. Unfortunately, we were seated near an emergency exit-only door where we endured a cold wind a few times during our meal. A few customers totally ignored the "please use main door" notice in plain site. (Can't fault Cappy's for rude customers.) Totally recommend Cappy's for an elegant, delicious meal any time.
Excellent as always!!!
We love CAPPY’S , attention , food, service , and they never fail
You leave always happy and enjoying the time there .
JOE , took great care of Us, yesterday .
Great specialities of the day .
We leave part time here and part time in Europe, and as soon as we are back to S ANTONIO our 1st place to go for lunch or dinner it is ALWAYS CAPPY’S !
Great service. Allí was very friendly and attentive!
Nice comfortable ambiance. Very good mustang chicken. Also the scallops were excellent. The heights burger was just okay. 30-50.00 price range makes it more of a special occasion type restaurant.
Wonderful food with family from out of town. Service was great; always love dining at Cappy’s.
